Saputara
One of the few hillstations in
Gujarat, Saputara is situated in the
heart of Dangs district. Perched on
the second highest plateau of the
Sahyadri range, it literally means
the 'abode of serpents'. The hill
station also houses one of the
longest ropeways in India, known
as the ‘Pushpak Ropeway’.

Saputara is a hill station located in the
Dangs, the least developed of Gujarat’s
districts. Overlooking a lush green valley,
this unpretentious destination is a good
place to unwind, go trekking or take leisurely
hill walks. Blessed with exhilarating natural
beauty, the town has verdant forests,
gorgeous waterfalls and a plethora of lush
gardens. It has a special mythological
significance, for it was one of the abodes of
Lord Rama during his 14 year exile in the
thick forests of this hillstation. The hamlet
has a unique deity of a serpent on the banks
of the River Sarpaganga which is
worshipped by the locals and is a splenid
site.

Shri Swami Narayan Mandir, touted as one
of the most important pilgrimage centers in
Gujarat is flocked by tourists and devotees
alike. Managed and administered by BAPS,
this majestic architecture is more than a
temple for people of Bharuch. Nestled in a
sprawling area and surrounded by lush
greenery, the place is an ideal spot for a
great family weekend. Its premises have
some nice restaurants as well where you
can go and enjoy a good meal after paying
your homage to the almighty.

Since, these falls are open for public, you
can very well traverse by jeeps. The 30 m
natural drop in the river Ambica river makes
for an amazing videography.
