City Year Los Angeles hosted a “pop-up”
photography exhibit on June 4 of photos
offering an unfiltered look at everyday
school life in inner-city Los Angeles. All
photos at the #InstaGallery event were
originally posted to Instagram by City Year
AmeriCorps members to document their
year of service in some of L.A.’s most disadvantaged schools.
Each year, 300 young people dedicate a
year to full-time service with City Year to
help at-risk students in L.A.’s lowest performing schools get on track to graduate.
