Overview
Based on the need to increase the resilience of vulnerable populations, PADF began the implementation of this
13-month project in July 2013. The project’s central objective was to reduce the vulnerability of at-risk, periurban settlements that are exposed to flooding and landslides in Tegucigalpa. Through structural and social
activities, PADF strived to increase the resilience of vulnerable communities with the overall goal of reducing
loss of life, livelihoods, and property as a result of natural disasters.
The project was financed by the Government of Taiwan through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and was
executed in collaboration with the Permanent Contingency Commission of Honduras (COPECO); the
Municipal Emergency Committee of the Central District (CODEM); the Local Emergency Committees (CODELs);
the Secretary of Development and Social Inclusion (SEDIS); and the National Autonomous University of
Honduras (UNAH).
