IT’S ALMOST SUMMER TIME AGAIN - GET THAT
BODY IN SHAPE FOR A RAFT OUT
Commodore’s Comments
We kicked off the year with an outing to Stockton Yacht Club and it felt more like a Juneuary than January. The weather was as warm as SYC’s hospitality. Stacy & Terry
Medieros were our hosts for the weekend. Our club members joined us on Callisto’s aft
deck for wine and some munchies on Saturday afternoon. In the evening we went up to the
clubhouse for a great dinner and some country western dancing to the sounds of Mostly
Country. After breakfast in the dining room the next morning, we cruised home for a lazy
Sunday afternoon.
Howard Neu organized our February cruise to Pittsburg. It was another weekend of warm
weather to celebrate Valentines Day and Presidents weekend. Friday evening we all gathered on The Dealer for a yummy fish fry. The Rifenburg’s guests, Fred & Margie, brought
the halibut that he had caught in Alaska last summer. Everyone else brought side dishes to
share. Saturday night the club hosted a dinner at LaVeranda in old town Pittsburg. We had
five boats show up for the weekend, Go For It Again, Neutral Zone, Callisto, The Dealer
and Erv’s cousin, Ray, cruised up from Marin Yacht Club.
March found us enjoying another beautiful weekend, this time at Oxbow Marina. We
shared the guest dock with some fun Oxbow tenants, and we all had a good time. We had
our friends, Barb & Dean Russell onboard Callisto, Paul & Carole Johnson came in Exeter
and Greg & Ro Almeida came in Go For it Again. GFIA is for sale but until it sells we love
spending the weekend with Greg & Ro.
I’m sure we are all looking forward to our Annual Martini Tasting at Willow Berm Marina.
I hope you can all join us on April 26 for martinis followed by tacos on the dock. Bob
Souza & Dianne Hammer will be our hosts for the weekend. Be sure to let them know if
More from the Commodore
you are coming.
There is no official club outing planned for May. Dennis and I will be going to the America’s Great Loop
Cruisers’ Association Rendevous in Norfolk, VA in May. We are planning on meeting up with our club members, Larry and Jan DeZonia. They shipped Panacea to Texas late last year and started their Great Loop cruise
in January. Currently they are on the ICW in Hilton Head, South Carolina and plan to be in Norfolk in May.
You can follow their adventures on www.panaceacruising.com. They share some fun stories and beautiful pictures. We want to find out more about the Great Loop and are considering a trip in the next year or two.
In June we’ll be heading to Ebony Boat Club for their annual Jazz Fest. You don’t want to miss this as they
serve some mighty awesome food. I’ll be contacting you soon as we need to sign up early to get a space.
Hope we see you soon somewhere on the Delta.

The Stockton YC kicked off the new year with a great
Western Theme Party. Terry Medeiros took over for
Stacy as Cruise Captain as Stacy had a family emergency to cover. It was great to see long time yacht club
friends the Gannaways show up for the Western HoeDown.
Debbie Green and Friends put on a Western Line
Dance seminar for all to enjoy.
Our new Commodore held her first Board Meeting of
the year and it went off with out a hitch.

Lynn and the Marina West YC again hosted a great
lunch for the 2014 Change of Watch. Past Commodore Dennis Jones rang out the old bridge and rang in
the new in the Change of Watch Ceremony.
On a sad note, four bells were rung for Dido Krotik.
Rest in Peace Dido.
Ro finally gets her new Badge from past Commodore
Good food and great friends make for a super TPYC Cruise.
WILLOW BERM MARTINI TASTING
Friday, after arrival and secured boats, the group had wine on the docks , then ventured out to the Lighthouse for an enjoyable dinner.
The annual Martini tasting on Saturday afternoon served up a full array of flavors, from a Breakfast Bacon to a Meat Loaf to a Cheescake
Martini and in between. No two alike. All were drinkable, some more than others, and it was great fun. Dianne and Bob did a wonderful
job of producing the event. The soft Tacos hit the spot as the wind drove us back to the boats for heavier coats.
We were back out on the docks Sunday morning to enjoy good conversations, good weather, and tasty Bloodies compliments of the Farleys. Boats were Slo Motion, The Callisto, Uno Mas, Bunny Luv, Neutral Zone, the Dealer.
