Short Takes:
News came out last week that England’s
Prince Harry cannot stand Twitter.
He indicated that he wouldn’t use it for
the world and apparently has little use for
the social network called Facebook.
The reasons are obvious. He would be
bothered all the time just as the news media swarms on important people.
Some stars love it and others hate it. Isn’t
that the way a lot of people feel this day
and age!
Last week’s column detailed a visit from
a long time friend, Gene Parker, former
journalism Professor at the University of
Georgia and a high ranking member of
Bell South. We had not seen each other in
more than 40 years. Two days later, another friend, Jerry Huff, a big league publisher
for many years in Texas, stopped to visit Magnolia Hills in Demorest. We had a lot to catch on.
Congrats to first cousin Mary Dilworth of Hartwell on her 80th birthday celebration on Sunday at her home. She hosted dozens of friends and relatives at her lake place and she retired art
teacher who minored in clinical psychology.

where two people had been killed. As he looked at
the wreckage a little monkey came out of the brush
and hopped around the crashed car. The officer
looked down at the monkey and said, “I wish you

nodded his head. “You can understand what I’m saying?”asked the officer. Again, the monkey nodded.

nodded. He pretended to have a can in his hand
and turned it up to his mouth. “They were drinking?”
asked the officer. The monkey nodded. The monkey then pinched his fingers together and held them to his mouth, sucking
deeply. “They were smoking cigarettes too?” asked the officer. The monkey
nodded. “Now wait, you’re saying your owners were drinking and smoking
before they wrecked the car?” The monkey nodded. “What were you doing
during all this?” asked the officer. The monkey held up his hands on an imaginary steering wheel.
