A week before the Transfiguration, Jesus told the crowds the Son of Man would
suffer, be rejected, killed, and rise again in three days. To be Jesus’ followers, they
were to deny themselves, take up their crosses, and follow him. Days later, Jesus’
dazzling transfiguration reveals the divine source of his incarnation. Jesus stands
talking with both Moses and Elijah to signal the fulfillment of both the Law and the
Prophets. Then a voice from the shadowing cloud says, “This is my Son, the
Beloved; listen to him!” Real listening means to act on what the person speaking
says. Truly listening to Jesus is demanding and difficult. The road to discipleship
takes both boldness and courage.

The New Conversation:
Changing Hearts & Minds on Abortion—
Abortion—
Stephanie Gray is an advocate for those who cannot speak for
themselves. She frequently travels across Canada and the U.S. speaking on
issues related to the humanity of the unborn, utilizing her unique ability to
speak to people on either side of a pro-life issue. This particular presentation is given at a Students for Life conference. Stephanie talks about the
dignity of the human person through a biblical lens as she seeks the truth
regarding today’s pressing Life issues.

The 2013-2014 Annual Report of Development & Peace is available near the

Transfiguration gives us a
glimpse of the glory that Jesus
had before coming to earth, the
same glory that he now enjoys
as he sits on his heavenly throne. And
even MORE than this, the Transfiguration
is a promise for us. It reveals the glory
that awaits each of us at the end of our
lives—that is, if we remain faithful to the
Lord. Happy Second Sunday of Lent!
