Hope everyone had a great Easter!
April brings many new and great things for us. Supercharge has made an exciting come back, $10 cards are now supercharged to $11 in airtime value, $20 cards are supercharged to $25 while the $30 reload cards are supercharged to $40.
Happy selling!
We are also sponsoring the Special Olympics. This is scheduled for Sunday, April 17th. This year’s Special Olympics Track
and Field event will be held at Okkodo High School in Dededo.
Buddy is doing so many exciting things this month too! A Red Carpet event is scheduled this month for the pre screening
of Ironman. Customers will be given a ticket to the featured movie of the month by simply purchasing $30 on a single
receipt.
A 5K Run for Southern High School is also being sponsored this month too! Look out for other great events sponsored by
Buddy in the coming months!
iConnect will be joining Relay For Life 2010. Cancer affects 300 people a year on Guam alone, and is said that we have
150 fatalities a year. It's a big event for the island which brings over 8,000 participants to this annual event. Details will be
finalized real soon, please contact the Training Department if you wish to participate.
Last but not least, The PABL 2010 season has added a new division, the Masters division consisting of players 45 years old
and up. We will be sponsoring a Masters team with our very own, Customer Care Manager, Joseph Manto and his team.
We will keep you posted on game schedules and stats.
Wheew! I think that covers it for now...
Enjoy this month's issue and keep your suggestions, pictures,
and announcements coming!

THINGS YOU CAN DO WITH
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
Bored? Try one of these weird but useful ideas!
What: Training Course
Where: Fiesta Resort
When: March 17, 2010
From 8am-12pm
Trainer: Toshie Ito of
Motiva Training
We attended a training course
titled “Training skills for
Trainer, Supervisor and
Manager”, and found that it
helped us by giving great
ideas and a wider knowledge
of how to continue doing our
job. This course was designed
for individuals who are thinking about becoming a trainer,
or have conducted some
formal or informal training
already and want to know
what will help them become an
excellent trainer.
There are all types of training
courses available. For more
information please contact the
Training Department or come
in to our office to view our
Training schedule
Blink wildly and then close your eyes really tight
for an interesting light show.
(Amusement Potential: 1-5 minutes)
See a variety of blobs, stars and flashes. Try to
make out shapes and see if your subconscious is
trying to send you a message (perhaps that funny
shape is saying, 'send all your money to
urban75.com'?)
See how long you can hold a note
(Amusement Potential: 4-20 minutes)
Not that much fun, but it sure passes the time. Play with a friend, or try to
beat your own personal best. Inhale deeply and then try and make a noise
for as long as you can. Earn extra points for making your partner laugh or
ending on an amusing note.
Use your secret mind power
(Amusement Potential: 5-10 minutes)
Pick a person passing by and try to use your mind power to command
them do something, like drop their bag or knock into someone. The law of
averages dictates that sooner or later one of your mind commands will
come true, so you can convince yourself that you really have super human
powers and waste even more time trying them out.
Repeat the same word over and over until it loses its meaning
(Amusement Potential: 1-3 minutes)
Pick a random word out of a magazine and say it aloud to yourself until it
becomes a meaningless set of noises.
Look at something for awhile, shut eyes, study after image
(Amusement Potential: 2-5 minutes)
Another great time waster. It takes about 30 seconds of staring to create
an after image, and the image is then viewable for about the same length
of time. Fun to combine this one with pushing on your eyes.
Invent a weird twitch
(Amusement Potential: 5-10 minutes)
Adopt a bizarre twitch (e.g. flicking your head irregularly, twitching with eye
or busting out sporadic cough noises) and try it out when you go shopping.
Make a low buzzing noise
(Amusement Potential: 15-30 minutes)
Hours of fun in libraries! Keeping a totally straight face and looking
nonchalant, make a low pitch humming/buzzing noise and see who reacts.

PROGRAM
An effective training technique which results in
motivation is cross-training, when implemented
horizontally, upward and downward. Department heads, assistants and employees can
cross-train in different departments or within the
department itself. With background support,
employees can have one day training in the role
of various positions here at iConnect.
This program is aimed to achieve the following
objectives:
• Prevents stagnation
• Offers a learning and professional development
opportunity
• Rejuvenates all departments
• Improves understanding of the different
departments and iConnect as a whole
• Leads to better coordination and teamwork
• Erases differences, enmity and unhealthy
competition
• Increases knowledge, know-how, skills and
work performance
• Improves overall motivation
• Leads to the sharing of organizational goals
and objectives.
IMPLEMENTATION
Two to four individuals will be chosen per week
to cross train in various departments. Example, if
one representative is chosen from Billing to cross
train with Retail, a Retail staff will then be
brought into billing to cross-train. These
individuals will be assigned to specific staff to
work with. Scheduling will not exceed the hours
allotted per individual.
The apprentice will be required to meet by the
end of the training hours (or day) with the
supervisor or manager, with a pad and pen,
ready with questions and comments. Apprentices will be expected to make open suggestions
about possible improvements in work procedures and ask about anything which was unclear
to them. The ‘receiving’ trainer (supervisor or
manager) will have to pay attention to the
apprentice, and keep a personal record with
comments. The trainer also submitted a written
report about the trainee.
This will be the most effective ongoing training
technique. It will motivate department heads,
supervisors and employees. Department heads
and supervisors will reap the benefits of
improved performance and higher morale
among employees. Additionally, the will also
learn new perspectives from the apprentices.
Greetings from the FM104 staff and management.
