The Great Thirty Days of April…
April will likely stand out as one of the most interesting months that we have experienced at Holy Trinity
in some time. We began the month in the midst of Holy week and Maundy Thursday, journeyed through
Good Friday and the Easter Vigil on Saturday, culminating in the great feast of Easter Day. On Easter Day
we baptized Hailey Brooke Holland, Hayden Blake Holland, and Grayson Andrew Monday, three of our
young people who attend Sunday School. I am so very grateful to their mother, Mouna, for her kindness
and support of the children at taking this important step in their lives, and for the support of their grandfather, Dave Kinser.
Easter Sunday also happened to be Gwen’s birthday. So, following the Easter Sunday service at 10:30
a.m., parishioners put together a special surprise for her at the Easter reception. Gwen was indeed surprised
and delighted, and offers her thanks to everyone for all the birthday cards and wishes. Together we add our
special thanks to Shaun Limozaine and Juddie Wachtel for the flowers, and all the wonderful food.
In the course of the month we also buried three of our long-time and much loved members: Maize Perry,
Rose Scott, and Al Cramer; held military honors for Martin Hanna (which we were not able to hold in February because of weather), and finished the month with the very large and much anticipated wedding of
Richard and Nancy Jorgensen. From my perspective, the month moved like a whirlwind; one of the busiest
and most rewarding months I have experienced in a long time. Rewarding, because in the course of the
month, we shared together in drama of Holy Week, the joy of Easter, the sacraments of baptism and marriage, and burial.
Everywhere, and for every service, the people of Holy Trinity went above and beyond, generously giving
of their time for the many services and events during the month: Our Office Assistant Diane Olson, who
organized and ran multiple service bulletins, Juddie Wachtel and Altar Guild, Karan Schlichting and our
Flower Guild, Ellen and Greg Nagode, our Choir, Betty Price and the Reception Coordinators, Ron
Knocke, Bill Monson, Jerry Sheuerman, Shaun Limozaine and Fr. Bruce Limozaine, Dave Kinser and our
Ushers, Betsy Videan and our Greeters, Bo Powers and our Acolytes, Eucharistic Ministers, and Lectors,
Jan Hanna and our Care Groups, the Kitchen Committee, and a list that can go on for some time. My personal apology to anyone who was not included!
My thanks to all of you for all you did to share hospitality and support not only to our own members, but
also to so many-out-of-town family and guests who were with us during the month. May our Lord richly
bless you all as you have all been a blessing.

The Sunday golf scrambles will return in May. We will
try to play each 2nd Sunday. There is a signup sheet
in Sifford Hall for all those interested in playing. All
golfers or want to be golfers are welcome. Golfers will
then be required to sign up each week of play so we
can make the necessary reservations. We will try to
have everyone play the same course and then we
have an opportunity to go out to eat.

SUMMER MUSIC
AT HOLY TRINITY
with Ellen
The choir’s summer vacation begins soon, running
from approximately June 7 to August 30. We will have
Offertory music spots to fill during that time. Instead of
placing a calendar sign-up sheet an a bulletin board, I
ask that you email me with information on providing
music for those weeks. Many of you sing in other small
groups, so I know there is a good deal of potential in
our church!

Every other month, Holy Trinity joins with the
Christ of the Hills church to serve “Love Lunches” on a Sunday at Jackson House in Hot
Springs.
The following letter was received by Juddie
Wachtel from the people that are the managers of
Jackson House.
It was a beautiful day, and all of the volunteers knew
everything to do. I had several things to give out so
there was plenty for every volunteer out on the porch.
Thanks so much for getting David . He was so strong
and Phil came late so David was great at everything
from upstairs to downstairs. He was there when we
got there and I was concerned when he said his
church was Sacred Heart Church but he said he was
a neighbor of one of your volunteers who could not
come and asked him to come. Hope yall invite him
every time!! Gene worked hard the whole time. First
of the sacks and outside helping Sid with the
punch. Who was a younger girl that I didn't remember seeing her before? She was a hard worker too. Of
course all of the 3 year women could have taken over
without me, but probably not without Sid and David!! It
was a blessed day. Thanks for all of your help. Your
next date is June 14th. Jane and I both want to have
yall's Sunday. God bless all . Melba & Sid
THANK YOU SO MUCH
The members of my family were overwhelmed by
the love and support shown to all of us during
Bruce’s illness, death and funeral. The cards, the
luncheon, the many words of support sustained
us all. I am still receiving much needed support
and love from Holy Trinity people.
Thank you all so much.

Getting to know…………
Terri & Winford Blackburn
1. When did you move to the Village ?
Terri and Winford moved to the Village in October of 2014 after having
lived in Hernando, Missouri for 8 years. Winford grew up in Helena, AR and Terri grew up in Waukegan, IL. They were
fortunate to meet on line.
2. What is your profession ?
For 30 years, Winford has been a road driver for YRC driving the big rigs. Six days a week he travels between Memphis
and Dallas, picks up a different truck in Dallas, and then returns to Memphis. He hauls all kinds of materials including
hazardous loads.
Terri is a Project Manager and works for Elusion, Inc. She works with colleges and universities all over the world even
though she has a west coast territory. Terri works for the services side of the house solving problems and matching software to the needs of the colleges and universities.
3. What would people be surprised to learn about you or your family ?
Winford is a twin.
Terri’s Mother was one of 18 children. Consequently, Terri has 115 first cousins. The whole family has a reunion every
4 years held in a small farming community northwest of the Twin Cities in Tierz, MN. As many as 600 family members
could possibly be in attendance. The generations are color coded with the original 18 wearing white T-shirts. Terri’s
generation wears red, their children wear blue, the next generation wears gray, and the youngest wear gold. All wear
their birth order on their T-shirts.
4. How many children and grandchildren do you have ?
Between Terri and Winford, they have 2 daughters, 4 sons, 12 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
5. What are your interests and/or hobbies ?
The Blackburns both enjoy bicycling. Since they both spend most of their time working, they haven’t been able to enjoy
the other activities the Village has to offer. However, they do hope to retire in another year, and are looking forward to
spending more time together and to pursuing other interests. They were very active in their Mississippi church and feel
very lucky to be with us at Holy Trinity.

THE TIMES @ HOLY TRINITY
HAPPY TIMES SAD TIMES SOLEMN AND PENSIVE TIMES PRAYERFUL TIMES PARTY TIMES
It isn’t often that Holy Trinity enjoys a
wedding. April 25th, we believe, was
the date of a match made in heaven.
Two of our favorite people became
One and the entire congregation
was invited to attend the wedding a
fun filled luncheon reception at the
Cortez Pavilion.
Thank you and CONGRATULATIONS

Can’t have a wedding without a rehearsal. As Nancys’ granddaughter tests her skills at dropping petals strategically,
her assistant, Dan Fitzgerald, stands guard over the REAL petals. Good job, Dan.

“May” we look ahead…
On Tuesday, April 21, the Vestry and I sat down for our first annual Vestry Planning Meeting, which was led
by Fr. Jason Alexander, Canon to the Ordinary (that’s the Bishop’s Assistant for those who may not know
“Episco-speak”). Senior Warden Ron Devish will have more to say about our meeting and the goals we set.
For my part, I thought the exercises were helpful and positive, and I think the goals we set for the year ahead
were short-term and achievable. We did not engage in any long-term strategic planning. But, I am sure we
will do so in the future.
One thing I am looking forward to in May is the first round of the Holy Trinity Golf Scramble, scheduled for
Sunday, May 10 at the Magellan Golf Course. It feels like a very long time since we last played! Don’t forget: the sign-up sheet in on the bulletin board in Sifford Hall.
While Sunday, May 17, is set normally celebrated as the seventh Sunday of Easter, we will be celebrating it
as Ascension Sunday. Ascension Day is a major day on the church calendar, but unfortunately it is always on
a Thursday. So, we will be transferring our celebration to Sunday this year.
Of course, Ascension Sunday will be followed by Pentecost Sunday (May 24). Please remember to wear red
on Pentecost!
Our own great feast day of Holy Trinity Sunday will be May 31. Naturally, we will have “smells and bells”
on that day. It is also the last Sunday for our Choir to sing before they go on their summer hiatus. So, we will
be honoring and thanking our Choir members with the reception following the 10:30 a.m. service. Then, we
will gather a later that afternoon at the Balboa Pavilion for our annual Parish Picnic. I hope to see you there!

FROM YOUR SENIOR WARDEN :
Dear Holy Trinity Family,
We are living through a difficult time of illness and death in our church. We all share in the pains of discomfort and loss.
Our Holy Trinity family is blessed with caring people concerned with the welfare of each other. Prayers and
encouragement are always abundant and comforting.
Our Pastoral care has been outstanding in every way. Thanks to Fr. Neil and all others for supporting this
essential ministry in such a meaningful manner.
We are Holy Trinity and we are fortunate to have each other in our lives.
Thank you all for making our church so special.
Best wishes,
Ron
