he genus Ilex has played an important role for the world’s societies for centuries. It was a symbolic plant of
the ancient Chinese, Assyrian and Egyptian races used in floral arrangements. The Romans, Greeks and
Druids incorporated Ilex in medicine, magic, science, legend and lore. The word ‘holly’ is thought to drive
from holy and thus its significant role at Christmas. Today, they are essential components of landscapes around
the world. Impressive diversity for color, size and shape, hardiness, evergreen or deciduous permit us to find
them in most areas of the country.

a rich green color year-round. Forms a broad pyramid and produces
abundant red fruit.
Ilex ‘Blue Prince’ &

‘Princess’ grows faster and bigger than ‘Prince’. Both have dark, glossy,
spiny leaves with no winter discoloration. They are probably the most
healthy, vibrant-looking of the bush-form hollies. Prince is the male
pollinator of all female blue hollies

Considered to be the perfect columnar holly; use as specimen or hedge.
We prune pyramidal and columnar. Self fruiting with quite a bit of
variation, plants under stress are very heavily fruited. Very dense with
smaller leaves than most hollies with very stiff, pointed spines.
Dark glossy green foliage with a very apparent reddish tint on the new
flush; everyone who sees it wishes all hollies would look this good.
