WHY Masters Athletics?
• The home of athletics – a founding member of the IAAF in
1912 – creation of European Committee in 1934
• The long term strategy, fully supported by the government
of Hungary, is to host world- and continental level sporting
events
• With an ever growing Hungarian veteran movement in
athletics, Hungary considers its duty to organise
competitions at the highest level
• Hungary would like to capitalise on the success of the
European Veterans Athletics Championships in Nyíregyháza
in 2010
