Burak Bilgili is a Turkish operatic bass-baritone
who was born in Aksehir, a town in the Konya Province of Turkey. He has sung in leading opera houses in the U.S. and Europe.
Initially, he studied at Mimar Sinan University in Istanbul and later with San
Francisco Opera’s Merola Opera Program, and at the Academy of Vocal Arts in
Philadelphia, from which he graduated in 2004. He also studied in Italy with Bonaldo Giaotti and Katia Ricciarelli at the Accademia Lirica Internazionale “Katia Ricciarelli” in Parma. In 2003, he became Turkey’s first ever representative at the BBC
Cardiff Singer of the World competition.
Burak Bilgili enjoys a busy international career. His upcoming engagements include Alfonso in Lucrezia Borgia, Ramfis in Verdi’s Aida for the Atlanta Symphony,
Don Basilio in Il Barbiere di Siviglia for Dallas Opera, Mustafa in L’Italiana in Algeri
for Atlanta Opera, The Four Villains in Les contes d’Hoffmann for Beijing, Leporello
in Don Giovanni for Cincinnati Opera, Nilakantha in Lakme for L’opéra de Montréal and he will sing the bass solo in Rossini’s Stabat Mater for Schleswig-Holstein
Musik Festival with Maestro Christopher Eschenbach.

On Friday evenings, the Great Stair Hall is transformed into an intimate cabaret
for Art After 5 performances. Starr Events serves up fun, sharable snacks and light supper options, as well as cocktails, wine
and beer to compliment the live entertainment.
The Alliance Française will share the evening of Friday, April
5, with the Turkish American Friendship Society of the United
States. French-Turkish entertainment through the evening.
