Message from the President
Dear Friends,
Welcome to the 17th Annual Telecare Award of Excellence Luncheon.
This Awards Luncheon is one of our largest fundraising events of the
year, so we welcome with great thanks our returning supporters and
those who are new to our ministry.
Telecare is proud to present Archbishop Allen Vigneron with the
Telecare Award of Excellence as “Religious Leader” as Chairman of
the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Committee on
Doctrine and his priestly service to the Church. We are equally
proud to honor Chris Mullin with the “Broadcast Media Award” as a
Retired Professional Basketball Player and Head Coach of the St. John’s
basketball team. I am also proud to present Jim Sullivan, President of
Sales for CBS Television Stations, with the “Business Leader Award” for
his outstanding business acumen and commitment to excellence.
With your support,Telecare is able to continue to provide viewers with
uplifting and spiritual programming in addition to daily Mass services
and national and global events.

ARCHBISHOP ALLEN H. VIGNERON
Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron was born Oct. 21, 1948, in Mount
Clemens and grew up in Immaculate Conception Parish, Anchorville
(Ira Township). He attended Immaculate Conception Grade School
before going on to Detroit’s Sacred Heart Seminary High School
and College. Later, he studied at the Pontifical Gregorian University
in Rome and the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
Archbishop Vigneron holds a doctorate degree in Philosophy from the
Catholic University of America.
Prior to being named Bishop of Oakland, California, in 2003,
Archbishop Vigneron was an auxiliary bishop for the Archdiocese
of Detroit. His background includes assignments as rector/president of Sacred Heart Major
Seminary, work in the Administrative Section of the Vatican Secretariat of State, and service as
associate pastor at Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, Harper Woods.
Archbishop Vigneron was installed as the 5th archbishop of Detroit on Jan. 28, 2009, at Cathedral
of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Detroit.
In 2009, Archbishop Vigneron was elected President of the Board of Directors of the Catholic
University of America. He concluded his second and final term in June 2015. He also received
the Pallium from Pope Benedict XVI on June 29, 2009. In late 2014, Archbishop Vigneron was
elected Chair of the USCCB Committee on Doctrine.

Named the 20th head coach in St. John’s basketball history, Chris
Mullin returned to his alma mater on April 1, 2015 after previously
serving as a special advisor for the Sacramento Kings and general
manager of the Golden State Warriors. Mullin is a two-time Olympic
Gold medalist and a two-time Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of
Fame inductee (in 2010 as a member of the 1992 United States men’s
Olympic basketball team (“The Dream Team”), and in 2011 for his
individual career).
Mullin enjoyed a decorated 16-year NBA career playing for the Golden
State Warriors and Indiana Pacers from 1985-2001. Selected by the
Warriors with the seventh-overall pick in the 1985 NBA Draft, Mullin scored nearly 18,000 points
in his career earning All-NBA honors four times and five NBA All-Star selections.
He played with the Warriors from 1985–86 until the 1996–97 season. Thereafter, Chris played
with the Indiana Pacers from 1997 until the 1999–2000 season. He retired after the 2000–01
season, playing for his original team, the Warriors, and became the sixth player in franchise
history to have his jersey number retired.
The most-decorated player in program history, Mullin is St. John’s all-time scoring leader with
2,440 points, starring at the University from 1981-85 under Hall of Fame Head Coach Lou
Carnesecca. Mullin led St. John’s to four-straight NCAA Tournaments, including a run to the 1985
Final Four. He is the only player in conference history to be named BIG EAST Player of the Year
three times (1983-85).
Before going into television sales, he worked in the banking industry where his
positions included the handling of institutional sales, fixed income, foreign
exchange and bond funds.
Jim was born in Bayside, New York and attended St. John’s University where he
received both his B.A. in Finance and an M.B.A. in International Finance. He is a
second generation Irish-American with roots in Cork and Kerry.
Jim currently lives in Manhasset with his son.

CHRIS MULLIN
Jim Sullivan began his position as President, Sales of CBS Television Stations in
August 2008. He is currently responsible for the sales of 27 television stations in
14 markets. Prior to the position, he was the Vice President and Director of Sales
for CBS’s Chicago-owned station, WBBM-TV where he was responsible for the
management and local sales staff in addition to developing new business initiatives.

JANE HANSON, Master of Ceremonies
Jane Hanson is a nine time Emmy Award winner with more than 30 years of reporting
experience. She has spent 27 years at NBC where she began as an anchor and
correspondent for WNBC New York in 1979. In 1988, Jane was named co-anchor of
“Today in New York,” a position she held until 2003 when she became the station’s
primary anchor for local programming and the host of “Jane’s New York”. Hanson
served as a fill-in newsreader on The Today Show for John Palmer, Deborah Norville,
Faith Daniels, Margaret Larson, Matt Lauer, and Ann Curry from 1988 to 2003. In May
2007, Answers Media announced that Hanson was joining Health Answers TV as host of
the video series “The Answered Patient”. She returned to WNBC on February 15, 2010 as
co-host, with Sara Gore, of its then 5 pm LX New York, as it was then known, newscast.
Jane currently is the host of Telecare’s CHS Long Island Health Source and is a Telecare Board member.
ALEX & AMY HAZELTON, Luncheon Co-Chairs
Alex is a managing director in Fixed Income at Barclays in New York, and
currently the head of U.S. short-term trading. He has been with the firm for
17 years (formerly as Lehman Brothers), and prior to that spent 5 years at
Smith Barney. Alex graduated with a B.S. in Finance from Bentley University. He
currently serves on the CHS Board of Directors.
Amy is currently a Senior Vice President at Imperial Capital LLC. She has been
with the firm for 5 years as a desk analyst in the High Grade and Hybrid Sales
and Trading division. Prior to that she spent 9 years at Lehman Brothers, in the
High Grade Credit division of Fixed Income. Amy graduated from The Colorado
College with a B.A. in Neuroscience. She is currently a member of the Great South Bay YMCA Board of Managers.
Amy and Alex reside on Long Island with their 3 daughters. They are members of St. Patrick Parish in Bay
Shore, and they enjoy the privilege of sending their daughters to St Patrick School.
