Review: Envy
Adventurous sex; one of the things that gets us all hot and excited. Of course we like our

For this review I got to try out the Microfiber Trunk M/L from the

otherwise this trunk looks and feels great, plus my girlfriend
loved it. To conclude: due to the sizing-issue this product for
me isn’t comfortable enough to wear all day long, however,
I can see myself slipping it on for a brief period to seduce my

A very special review this edition of Scala’s Academy: to try
out 2 System JO flavored lubricants we organized a unique
‘tasting session’ at the Scala Playhouse office. As the System
JO flavored lubes can be mixed with alcohol, creating unique
cocktails, we decided to put it to the test and mix the JO
H2O Watermelon flavored lube and the H2O Cool Mint lube
with a refreshing glass of prosecco wine. The results: very
surprised staff. Most people on the test panel had never
‘drank’ lubricant before, but were pleasantly surprised about
the tasty results. The JO H2O Watermelon was fruity, but a
bit overpowering in the prosecco; creating a taste that was
too intense for some of the participants. However, the JO
Cool Mint proved to be a big hit among the tasters; creating
a unique, fresh flavoring to the drink, which gathered a lot
of praise. The general response from the participants was
that the tasting session was a truly ‘unique’ experience and
adds a whole new dimension to sampling lubes. Overall we
definitely recommend organizing your own in-store tasting
session by creating your own System JO cocktails. It is a fun,

I tried the Swan Squeeze Kiss in the beautiful color Teal. Let me start by
commenting on the color: it is simply beautiful. I really like that this toy comes
in a more unusual option, as I already have plenty of pink and purple toys
and wanted something different. The packaging of the toy is sturdy and looks
high-quality. It includes great manual instructions and a satin pouch
intended for storage, which is a nice touch! The Swan Squeeze
Kiss itself looks very elegant. The soft curves and sleek
appearance gives it a very feminine feel. The silicone is soft to
touch and feels comfortable on my skin. It can take a bit of time
to get started with this toy, as there are many different settings
and functions to experiment with. I really liked the fact that you can

Best buys for kegel exercises
In Scala’s Tips & Tricks we do our best to give you new and interesting insights
that will help you to serve your customers better! Our in-house sexologist and sex
therapist will extend her knowledge to help you boost your sales. This edition we have
written down all you need to know about kegel balls.

Kegel balls
The exercise
Kegel exercisers are hot. At Scala Playhouse we stock a wide
range of kegel exerciser, varying from sleek silicone balls and
vibrating designs, to stainless steel balls and training kits.
When marketing a kegel exerciser to your consumers,
part of a successful sale is being able to provide them
with the relevant information about the product.
To refresh your memory about the use of the kegel
balls and the benefits it brings we’re going in-depth on
the pelvic floor muscles in this edition of Scala’s Tips
and Tricks…
So let’s get to business: how do we train the pelvic floor muscles?
This is where the kegel exercisers come in. The kegel device, normally
shaped as a ball or sphere, is inserted in the vagina using lubricant
(this is not mandatory, but does make the process go more smoothly).
When inserted, the feeling of ‘fullness’ and stimulation will gradually
fade. This is normal: remember that kegel exercisers are a sexual aid;
they are not specifically designed as a pleasure product. To start the
exercise simple keep the balls inserted during routine movements, for
example: wear them during your housework, a trip to the grocery store
or a light walk in the park. The trick is too keep the balls in place,
meaning your muscles will have to tense up to keep them inserted
during the time you move around. Start by wearing them for 5 or 10
minutes at a time and gradually work your way up to 30 minutes.
Research has proven that half an hour a day is most effective, so
don’t ‘overdo’ it by using the balls for hours each day. When you can
manage 30 minutes, try moving up to a heavier set of kegel balls to
give your muscles a new challenge. The world’s strongest pelvic floor
muscles belong to Tatyana Kozhevnikova, a Russian woman who can
lift up to 14 kilograms using these muscles. Start low and work your
way up, as Tatyana proves: the sky is the limit.

The products
The kegel exercisers and balls are aimed at one thing:
improving and strengthening the pelvic floor muscles. These
muscles are often overlooked: we tend to focus on our
biceps, our butt and our calves during standard exercise,
but the intimate muscles are just as important. The pelvic
floor muscles are located at the bottom of the pelvic.
Their function: supporting our vital organs such as the
bladder and enabling closure of the urethra, vagina and
rectum. Just like any other muscle the pelvic floor
can be tensed and relaxed, the latter for example
during intercourse. Stronger pelvic floor muscles
can have a big impact on how you experience
intimate pleasure. The stronger the muscles, the
higher the sensitivity during penetration. Plus,
stronger muscles have more ability to contract
during a climax: meaning they can increase the
intensity of your orgasms.
There are many different types of kegel products, so how do you know
which one suits your consumers best? First establish if they have tried
kegel exercisers before: are they entry-level or more advanced? If
they are new to kegel training, a ball or sphere with a low weight is
recommended. Determine how much stimulation they want from the
product: vibrating balls can add sexual stimulation during use, but
vibrations are not necessary for a kegel to be effective. Last, but
certainly not least, learn what type of material they like. PVC can
feel cold, while silicone quickly adapts to the body temperature.
Glass and steel are more solid and can both be heated if
desired. With so many kegel products to choose from, there
is a right match for every consumer. It’s up to you – the retailer
– to find it, and sell it using your knowledge and giving advice.
Oh, and if you need a tagline to seal the deal, just remember ‘the
stronger your kegel muscles, the stronger your orgasms’: how can
anyone resist that?
