Ernest Télémaque
After spending over 30 years as an employee of the
National Bank of Haiti, Mr. Télémaque moved to the
United States of America with his family. He has
constantly and consistently been involved with activities
related to the Haitian Community with one goal in
mind—to help the Haitian community.
His personal company is in the same location he has
been fulfilling his objective. New Haitian immigrants
find a comforting and helpful place when they stop by
Mr. Télémaque’s store to obtain information about the
City of Philadelphia as well as places to go and to visit.
Leroy Guiteau
Leroy A. Guiteau, born in Haiti, developed a love for music at a very young age.
Throughout his childhood, he was surrounded by famous Haitian musicians such
as René St Aude, Raoul Guillome, Ipharez Blain (Maestro of the Haiti National
Palace orchestra), Ansy Déreause, Guy Durozier, Frantz Casséus (one of the most
famous Haitian guitarists).
Leroy’s first music lessons were with Maestro Antoine St. Armand who taught
him how to read music, harmony, composition and instrumentation. He advanced
his learning of music through reading different music books. He passionately
listened to music from Jazz des Jeunes, Raoul Guillaume orchestra, and Ibo Combo. Frantz Casséus, his favorite guitar player, inspired Leroy to play guitar. Guy
Durosier also influenced his musical arrangement.
Mr. Guiteau is now a well-known musician in the tri-state area promoting the
Haitian style of music, the Compas, the Cadence and the Troubadour styles. He
regularly performs at various social events such as weddings, private dinner
parties, corporate events and various Haitian and other ethnic community
concerts. Mr. Guiteau’s smooth Haitian Caribbean style and jazz arrangements
is unique. He uses musical instruments such as sequence drum machines and
MIDI keyboards to provide the illusion of a full band. Currently, Leroy
independently released two CDs and has several other projects in the works.

James Harrison
James P. Harrison III is the President and Founder of Mission Relief Services, a
humanitarian non-profit company, that ships medical supplies worldwide. He grew up in a
healthcare environment, and spent a lot of time in his family’s nursing homes business. In
the 1980’s he created a medical supply company, Octorara Medical Services, that provided
medical supplies and equipment to facilities in the tri-state area. His company, Mission Relief,
collects from hospitals and delivers surgical material to areas of the world with the greatest
needs. Mr. Harrison has been shipping humanitarian cargoes for 20 years.
After a winter trip to Russia in 1992, Jim helped Carelift International get started collecting
and shipping medical supplies, and later provided humanitarian services for Christian Relief
Charities for over 5 years. “The mission begins with the donor”, and Jim has worked with
numerous regional hospitals for 20 years providing a reliable service.
As a result of a never ending steam of top quality medical material being donated daily, Jim
founded Mission Relief Services in 2001 as a way to expand the number of projects and
recipients of surgical humanitarian aid. In 2008, after 4 tropical storms and hurricanes hit
Haiti left the already fragile Haitian economy in a perilous state, The Haitian Coalition of
Philadelphia reached out to Mission Relief Services for help. Mr. Harrison and his team
worked with HCP to help Haiti by sending medical equipment and supplies to different parts
of the island. They doubled their efforts after the January 12, 2010 earthquake devastated
the country. Mission Relief Services has expanded every year, and has constantly drawn
participants into this form of service.
Jim grew up in the Philadelphia area and is a graduate of Strath Haven High School,
Presbyterian College, Eastern University, and Rosemont College. He remains active in
International missions, and has traveled to over 30 countries. Jim has been honored by
Rotary clubs, hospital boards; in 1997 Hospital Albert Schweitzer Board, in 1998 and award
from the City of Santa Cruz, Bolivia, in 2004 the Medical Benevolence Foundation, in 2005 the
“Citizen’s Diplomacy award” from the City of Philadelphia, and in 2006, the Xelaya Castro
“First Lady of Honduras”. Mr. Harrison is also the Vice President Managing Partner of Harrison House Nursing Homes, and Harrison Senior Living. His duties include physical plant and
property concerns and corporate governance associated with operating the long term care
facilities.
