Centre For Capacity Enhancement Programme
Higher education and development of a nation being closely related, the Government of India has set up a
target to raise the percentage of eligible age group (17 to 23 years) in higher education from abysmally low
of 6 percent to at least 15%. The capability of the existing conventional education system to cater to such a
large targeted size of population is, undoubtedly, limited.
Under this programme, Punjab Educational and Charitable Trust running a associate college
Punjab College of Engineering since 2011.
Under this programme same as Punjab College of Engineering a number of Associate Institutes have been
setup where classroom teaching is an integral part of education. The University ensures the quality of teaching
at the Associate Institutes by making regular inspections of the physical and academic infrastructure.
While quality assurance remains an important objective of this education programme, it also aims at spreading
higher education to the remote, rural and border areas of the state, especially for the benefit of women and
other groups that remain left out from the conventional stream.
Educational tours
Education is not only confined to class room teaching. Traveling is an education in itself. It broader the mind and
the outlook. It enables us to meet new people, visit important places and see different customs and rites. The world
around us is a big school which imparts us practical knowledge of the problem of life. So, the college arranges
trips to places of educational and historical importance in India during autumn and winter break or as per other
convenient time.
To impart practical knowledge to our students the college visits at various industrial and historical importance

Rail coach factory, the largest coach manufacturing unit of Indian Railways.It has carved a niche in industrial scenario of the country at
the large. It is the most modern coach manufacturing unit of Indian Railways.

Viraste Khalsa, a famous place at Anandpur Sahib where the rich culture of Punjab preserves its value. The virasat of Punjabi culture and
sikhism give its beautiful description at this place. The students of Punjab college got familiar with the true colours of Punjab.

The college placement cell provides an opportunity to students to get a job in different multi-national companies so that college’s
motto-that we form the character of students is completed. For the same ,on April 16,2014 Mc Donald’s world largest food chain visited
the college campus for the selection of student.
This interview gives a chance to students to get the professional knowledge, gain confidence and groom their personality.
Our college 40 students selected in this interview and placed in Mc Donald’s with good salary package.
