Men and Women in Radio Ceremony
Honoring Men & Women in
Radio
Radio Honoree Ceremony
A Black and White Affair
4.24.2014
Red Carpet
Welcome
When I first had the idea to start Radio
Week, it was just that, simply an idea
and a vision to honor the men and
women who serve and inform us on the
airwaves daily. What I could not have
imagined was the tremendous support
and encouragement I have received
from
colleagues,
political
representatives, businesses, and the
individuals who all made this possible. I
am humbled by the experience and so
happy Georgia now has an official Radio
Week, to be commences the fourth
week of every April!
Let’s look to the Honorees tonight and
all of their fellow personalities and
support staff for making this recognition
possible. Congressman Scott said it best,
“…you bring to the listening audience
music, weather, news and commentary,
you enlighten and encourage debate on
issues that affect us all. This is a great
responsibility and should never be taken
lightly.”
Thank you all for your support. Enjoy
the evening.

Celebrity... Author... Entrepreneur... Visionary! These are just a few words that
merely come close to the defined greatness of Joyce Littel. Deemed a “Quiet
Storm” of broadcasting perfection in the medium and muse of radio, Joyce Littel
has undoubtedly set a standard of excellence throughout her career – a reign of over
26 years. Her smooth, sexy voice is synonymous with romance and slow jams,
which is why for over 19 of those years, she hosted two top-ranked, night time
shows in Atlanta, the Quiet Storm and Love & Relationships, both heard on CBS
Radio Atlanta’s V-103 (WVEE-FM). Her heart and “matter of fact” delivery
engages and impacts thousands of listeners.
A graduate of Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Joyce Littel began her radio career
at WCKLK- FM as the host of their Campus Spotlight program which reported all
of the campus happenings for the AUC. Upon graduating in 1983, she returned
home to Athens, GA to work for WXAG in several roles gaining valuable on-air
experience and skills she carried into her growing career to ultimately become the
host of the Quiet Storm on Atlanta’s V-103, WVEE-FM.
Joyce successfully created a robust experience for her listeners through music,
poetry and conversation. She is also well known for her Love & Relationships
series: a two-hour talk show segment addressing tough relationship issues featuring
the opinions of top celebrities and experts from around the country.
In 2001, she became the visionary and CEO of Littel Concepts, LLC. As a premiere
multimedia and entertainment-marketing firm, Littel Concepts prides itself on
matching the pulse of the community and the entertainment industry through a
series of “must see” events for local markets while maintaining national appeal.
Joyce has held memberships with numerous civic and cultural organizations. Rolling
Out Magazine recognized her talent as one of the 25 Most Influential Women in
Atlanta, and she is listed regularly as one of the Who’s Who in Black Atlanta. She
has received numerous awards and honors, but no award can top Joyce’s highest
honor of being wife, mother and grandmother. She is married to James H. Jackson
and has three children: James H. Jackson, III, Khimberly Jackson and Jamal C.
Jackson. She is also the grandmother of three.
Having already had a full career with a lifetime of unforgettable personal and
