The final book rental fees due
letter was mailed to Kahler
parents on April 19, 2012.
All outstanding balances will
be referred to the Lake Central
School Corporation for collection at the end of the 20112012 school year. To avoid
this procedure and any additional charges, please remit
your payments as soon as
possible. All checks and cash
must be in exact amounts only
(We have no petty cash in the
building) and credit card payments may be accessed
through the Corporation website.
Student fines will be assessed
in May and should be paid
promptly. Please make note on
the envelope with any payments the following: name of
the student, I.D. number and
the type of fine you are paying
(i.e. lost or damaged book,
locker, and choir/band attire or
instrument). If you have any
questions, please contact Mrs.
Hope Hack, Bookkeeper
at 219-865-3535.
The school year is rapidly
coming to an end. It is difficult to believe that it is already May!!! We have had
yet another very busy year
at Kahler, and this spring
will be no different. There
are many activities planned
in May. Our calendar is
“jammed-packed” full of
many fun activities and
events for our students.
Please check out the calendar included within this
newsletter. Mr. Doyle and I
will be at most events this
spring. Please stop by and
say hello.
I want to extend my sincere
thanks and appreciation to
all of the supportive parents
and our outstanding staff at
Kahler for the many hours
of work and dedication to
our students and our school
this year. We could not
accomplish as many events
and meaningful activities for
our children if it was not for
all of your hard work. Congratulations to all of your
individual and group
accomplishments!!!
Our counselors have been
working on the schedule for
next year. Students have
also returned course signup sheets for next year.
You should have seen them
by now and signed the
sheet showing your acceptance of your child’s
selection of elective
courses. If you have any
questions, or have not seen
these sheets at home,
please contact your child’s
counselor by phone or
email. We will have on-line
registration next year in
arrive at our school.

have your RDS access code

your access so that you
avoid the rush and confusion in the fall.
Now that the weather has
turned to spring/summer,
please remind your son/
daughter about the dress
code. We appreciate your
cooperation with this issue.
Please check the school
agenda if you have a particular concern regarding the
dress code.
The students are now completing the second round of
ISTEP tests this spring.
The scores should be released to schools later this
spring. The scores will be
released to you when they

Kahler Parents...A FRIENDLY REMINDER
Please make sure your students have their homework and lunch before they
leave for school in the morning.
Students should know how they are getting home at the end of the day
before they come to school. If your child will have a change in transportation for the day, please write a note or call the office BY 2:00 pm.
Parents, please do NOT have students walk to the sides of the school to be
picked up.
Let’s make RESPONSIBLE kids together.
If your child is sick during school hours, please encourage them to see the
nurse. They may NOT text or call you to pick them up from school. The
NURSE has to see the student to determine whether the students is not feeling well and needs to go home. The NURSE will contact you.
STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO USE THEIR PHONE, IN ANY WAY,
DURING SCHOOL HOURS.
