Inspirational
Heichal HaTorah’s first goal is to inspire our Talmidim to love
Torah learning and to devote themselves to growth in Yiras
Shamayim and Midos. Our Rabbeim will focus on creating
personal relationships with Talmidim, and to infuse the Yeshiva
with an exciting ruach at weekly tisches, monthly in-Yeshiva
Shabbos programming and weekend getaways.
Torah
The Yeshiva’s second goal is for our Talmidim to further the
development of their reading and analysis of Gemara and other
areas of Jewish learning. This goal is accomplished through a
Yeshiva seder schedule, coupled with chavrusah style learning,
including six days of learning and two evenings of night seder.
Unsurpassed General Studies
The Yeshiva’s third goal is for all students to receive a first rate
General Studies education to prepare them for the future. The
General Studies faculty is composed of experienced educators
with advanced degrees in their areas of expertise.
Facilities
The Yeshiva will be located at the new High School wing of
the Jewish Center of Teaneck, which includes a beautiful Beis
Medrash, modern classrooms, state of the art labs, a gym and a
pool.
Affordability
The Yeshiva will incorporate technology and other
innovative educational tools to create a very affordable
high-caliber education.
Heichal HaTorah | Rabbeim
HEICHAL
RABBEIM
Rav Aryeh Stechler
Rosh Yeshiva
Raised in Teaneck, Rav Stechler returned to the community three years ago with his wife Danya and five children.
Rav Stechler received Semicha at Yeshivas Rabbeinu Yitzchok Elchanan (RIETS, YU) where he learned for
10 years, under the guidance of Rav Herschel Schachter, Rav Michael Rosensweig and Rav Chaim Packer.
Past editor of the Beis Yitzchok, and a member of the Wexner Kollel Elyon, Rav Stechler published numerous
articles in various publications on topics in Seder Kodshim (Korbanos). He served as Assistant Rav at Ahavath
Torah in Englewood, NJ and Senior Rav at Anshe Chesed in Linden, NJ for seven years. For the last eight years, he
has taught Gemara and served as Mashgiach Ruchani to high school students at leading Yeshivas. As Director of
the Bekius Program, over 1000 of his students have completed full Masechtas. He is also Director of SummerTorah.
com, a summer learning program that offered extra learning to over 200 students. Rav Stechler founded the TTC
program, currently known as TLN, which offers high school students inspiration to further their learning, as well as
the opportunity to learn with Gedolei Yisroel. Rav Stechler also currently serves as Executive Vice President of the
Rabbinical Council of Begren County.
Rav Pesach Skulnick
Senior Ram, 9th Grade Rebbe
Rav Skulink learned in Ner Yisroel for 17 years and currently gives a shiur every afternoon to advanced students.
For the past few years he has been a High School rebbe in the morning, first at Rambam for the 12th grade honors
shiur, and now at Neimos HaTorah. His principal at Rambam said he was “dynamite, inspired boys to go off to top
Yeshivos and taught them a tremendous amount of skills and materials.” As a previous star of the MTA basketball
team, Rav Skulnick enjoys playing ball with the boys. He has spent the last 11 summers at Rommamu, where he
teaches the ninth grade shiur. He completed his undergraduate and CPA studies at the University of Maryland.
He studied in Kerem BYavneh for two years. Rav Skulnick just completed Shas taking the Dirshu tests, which
required the review of each Maseches countless times. It is a true honor to welcome such a warm and
accomplished Talmid Chacham to our Yeshiva.
Reb Yakov Danishefsky
Night Seder Rebbe
Recommended by leading Jewish educators as one of the most promising young Jewish educators, Reb Yakov is an
inspirational, leibidik young Talmid Chacham. At the Heichal Tische attended by close to 40 boys, Reb Yakov spoke
passionately about the importance of chevra at Heichal HaTorah. Growing up in Bergenfield has afforded him the
unique opportunity to truly understand where many of our boys are coming from. His years of experience learning
hours a day with the some of the best high school students at NCSY Kollel provide him with the experience to create
an exciting learning environment for our boys.
Heichal HaTorah | Limud HaTorah and Inspiration
LIMUD HATORAH
At Heichal we believe that our role as Rabbeim is to help the students appreciate how truly talented they are. If
we set high expectations for them and give them advanced Torah learning skills, we believe our Talmidim will
accomplish great achievements in learning. The following are learning goals for each year:
Gemara Iyun
Our Talmidim will study a challenging Masechta each year with the
goal of learning the skills necessary to make a leining on Gemara, Rashi
and Tosafos. As students progress in the Yeshiva, they will learn more
Rishonim and improve their ability to analyze the Gemara and explore
the depths of classical lomdus.
Gemara Bekius
Many parts of the Masechta not completed during Iyun seder will
be learned during the Bekius seder. This will enable almost all of our
Talmidim to be Mesayeim the entire Maseches. Some students may
study a smaller Masechta during the Bekius seder.
Halacha
Each morning after davening, the Talmidim will begin their day with
a short seder in Halacha. This will establish the primacy of Shemiras
HaMitzvos. Our goal is to complete the Kitzur Shulchan Aruch during
9th grade and major segments of the Mishnah Berurah in other years.
Chumash
Each day, YHT Talmidim will use the Chumash seder to learn the
Parshas HaShavuah Chumash with Rashi. Additionally, the Talmidim
will hear an Iyun shiur in Chumash numerous times a week.
Mishnah
Our students will learn 2 perakim of Mishnah
each week and complete a seder of Mishnah each year.
INSPIRATION
At Heichal we believe that the key factor in determing whether a Talmid will succeed is whether he loves learning
and Avodas HaShem. Employing the following inspirational methods we hope to instill an unparalled Ahavas
HaShem and excitement for learning.
Thursday Night Tisch
Every Thursday Night the Yeshiva will join together in singing,
inspirational Divrei Torah offered by Talmidim, Rabbeim and Guest
Speakers. This will be accompanied by a late night chulent snack.
In-Shabbos
Once a month, the Yeshiva will gather together in either Monsey,
Passaic or Bergenfield for Davening, Meals, Tischim and Seder. These
exciting, bonding and fun Shabbas programs will highlight the beauty
of Shabbos and the Simcha of Judaism for our Talmidim.
Shabbos Getaways
Three times during the year all of our Talmidim and Rabbeim will
travel to a special location for a long weekend and Shabbos of fun
and inspiration. In the mountains or in a hotel, the change of scenery
and the fresh air will inspire the boys to build a more meaningful
connection to HaKadosh Baruch Hu.
Shabbos with Rebbe
All of our full time Rabbeim live in the same communities as our
Talmidim. This will afford the Rebbe a deeper connection with our
students families. Rabbeim will constantly invite the Talmidim over for
meals and learning over Shabbos.
Mussar
A Mussar seder before both Mincha and Maariv will inspire our
Talmidim to daven with Kavanah and Hislavus. Additionally, YHT
will focus on the development of our Talmidim’s midos and stress
the importance of Derech Eretz. Our Mussar sedarim will focus on
Seforim that teach mussar in a positive and warm manner. Most days
one Mussar seder will be used as an opportunity for a Rebbe or Guest
Rebbe to offer words of inspiration.
Warmth
Heichal is a small Yeshiva environment were each Talmid has a
personal and meaningful relationship with each Rebbe and teacher.
These relationships will make every student feel that he is important
and inspire each of them to achieve the fine Midos and heartfelt Yiras
Shamayim of their Rabbeim.
Heichal HaTorah | General Studies
GENERAL STUDIES
At Heichal HaTorah we believe that General Studies should be pursued seriously and studiously. Our challenging General Studies program will
enable our students to pursue college degrees and to develop successful careers. Our classes will focus on achieving success on college entrance exams and
on developing excellent writing and public speaking skills to communicate confidently. Additionally, we expect that many of our students will be able
to receive numerous college credits in the areas subjects such as Math, Science and History. Heichal will conform with NJ State Requirements for High
School Education and seek to become accredited in the very near future.
Biology
Our 9th grade curriculum is designed to introduce students to the major
concepts of Biology. Learning the details of how their bodies and the
entire world work so perfectly will increase the Yiras Shamayim of our
Talmidim. Exceptional students will take the AP exam after their ninth
grade studies, while most other will take the exam in their senior year.
Math
YHT has two tracks of Math for ninth grade students. Some students will be
studying Algebra 2, while others will begin Geometry. Students who enter
YHT with proficiency in both of these areas will be afforded the opportunity
to take online courses in Math. Our goal is that most of our students will
receive credit for the Calculus AP courses during their senior year.
English
Our English classes will focus on developing reading comprehension
and analysis skills. Additionally, much time and effort will be devoted to
increasing vocabulary and honing advanced writing skills. Our ninth grade
students will take the SAT II in Literature.
History
In World History 9, our students will focus on the development of the
Western World, preparing them for the next level course in American
History. Special emphasis will be placed on the role of Israel and the Jews
throughout History. Many of our students will receive AP credits for both
American and World History.
