Our Story
Originally founded in 1972 by
Bob Beckerman, Starlite Studio™
continues to be fully maintained by
his sons and granddaughter. We
operate a foundry in Los Angeles,
employing extensive knowledge
of metals and acrylic casting into
manufacturing original fine art
sculptures. Our unique technical
innovations in Mixed Media,®
combining Lucite,® and a metal
embedded sculpture continue to
make a dramatic impact on the
market today.
Starlite Studio™ has always been
the innovator of Mixed Media,® a
brilliant combination of components
such as: lost wax bronze, fine
pewter, 24 karat gold vermeil,
brass, copper, Lucite® plus a bright
array of hot-torched acid patinas.
Mixed Media® combined with
Lucite® adds another dimension
of rich color and texture. Starlite’s
unique manufacturing process
enables us to achieve the highest
details possible, without losing any
of the artist’s original interpretation.

The Process
Starlite Studio® originals arrive at
the foundry in the form of plasticine.
Each sculpture is sectioned into
a myriad of component parts and
placed into molds for the creation
of individual cavities.
Once these metals have solidified
in the molds and are released, the
compnent parts are welded together to form the final shape of
the sculpture.
Meticulous hand work with fine
stainless steel tools recovers
detail lost in the welding process.
At that point, each original sculpture
is bathed in hand-applied precious
metals and various patinas.
In finishing, the sculpture is hand
releived with a combination of steel
wook and sand to release the color
and texture of the original metal form.

the unique combination of brilliant components such as:

• Lost Wax Bronze
• Fine Pewter
• 24- karat Gold Vermeil
• Brass, Sunrise Gold, Flame, and Rose Copper Vermeils
• Plus a bright array of hot-torched patinas that include
Black Nickel, Verde Green, and Turquoise
