ADHAMIYA CENTER
ICDL (International Computer Driver License) The International Computer Driving
License (ICDL) is designed to provide a wide
knowledge of the basic concepts of Information
Technology (IT). It enables to use a personal
computer and common computer applications
at a basic level of competence.
The course started out with 25 students,
6 days a week, 5 hours a day, on 9 June 2008,
25 students graduated. At the first lecture the
teacher delivered the basic information of IT.
The outline is divided into 8 topics. The
following is a headline of the topics; Basic
Concepts of IT, Hardware, Memory Storage & performance, Software, Windows,
Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and The Internet and Communications. Moreover, there
is an increased demand for IT training in these days. Since 1of June 2008, the center
conducted 1 course, and 25 students graduated during June 2008. Nothing daunted,

Adhamiya young people set about arming themselves in order to be of great benefits for
the society in general and Adhamiya community particularly.
The following is a number of students that
have been graduated during June 2008:
•
9 June to 15 June 25 students
graduated (IT).
Attendance: Attendance at these lectures is not compulsory, but the students are highly
motivated to be skilled in IT, and eliminate the illiteracy of the most important subject in
the 21st century.
Course Evaluation by students: The students expressed their evaluation as percentage, 100% excellent is given by
25 students, in spite of short period of the program; the course is largely useful due to rich
of information and the rest of them gave different percentage.
Graduation ceremony: The graduation ceremony opened by
appreciation words, the teacher showed
gratitude to the students’ commitment to learn
and improve themselves, in return students
were thankful to see that EC in Adhamiya
providing
numerous
benefits
to
the
community. There are some suggestions from
the students, for instance, is it possible to open
another course in IT advance, or ESL courses.
The ceremony ended by delivering certificate
for each student who passed the exam.

Business Edge Business Edge is a brand name of International
Finance Corporation’s (IFC) programs. International range
of management training products and services, specially
designed for mid-level to upper-level business managers.
Business Edge includes 36 different management seminars
in 5 different categories, namely: Marketing, Human
Resources, Production & Operations, Finance & Accounting,
and Personal Productivity Skills. IFC designed this
curriculum.
Four IFC courses took place in the center during
May, two courses of (Accounting for non Accounting) and
two courses of (Introduction to Marketing Concept).
Accounting for non Accountants The center conducted 2 courses in Accounting for Non Accountants:
• 31 May-1 June 18 students graduated.
• 24-25 June 20 students graduated
The total number is 38 students.
By going through this workbook, students will be able to: identify basic principles of
financial management; describe the importance of keeping accounting records in your

business; explain how to forecast and control money by preparing cash flows; analyze
your business results using financial ratios.
Introduction to Marketing Concepts The center conducted 2 courses in Introduction to Marketing Concepts:
• 18-19 June 16 students graduated.
• 28-29 June 21students gradated
The total number is 37 students.
Marketing is more than advertising and selling activities. Modern marketing must
be understood as a process of satisfying customer needs through which your business
makes its profit. Understanding marketing is a key to the success of your enterprise. By
studying this workbook, you will be able to: Define the modern marketing concept;
Differentiate between customer’s needs and demands; Distinguish among features and
benefits of the products and services you offer to your customers; Define a marketing
plan.
Adhamiya Employment Center Adhamiya area is considered to be one of the most hostile and violent places in
Baghdad governorate, but for the past few months, changes happened in public attitude
regarding this area. A plenty of projects will accomplish in the near future. Employment
center is one of these projects. Since EC opened in November, the staff worked hard in
order to achieve a goal which is to recruit 2000 jobless people in various jobs. In addition
to the above, the center is considered to be the only center authorized by DAC to supply
unemployed people.
Adhamiya employment center are keeping on announcing for the program which
is IT & IFC training courses. In spite of that IFC course draws attention of minority of
students but 1 courses of IT & 4 of IFC took place in the Center during June 2008.

Success Stories I am Jasim Mohammed, I am a graduate of Basrah
University /Accounting Dept.
I know from my brother (who had previously
joined a NAJAH course) about the computer
session. He encouraged me to join, noting that I
used to refrain from such session because I used
to consider then useless. Therefore, I joined
simply out of curiosity. However, I learnt that
my experience increased a lot by venture of the
trainer Mustepha Sameer. I benefited a lot from
this session, technically and practically.
I wish continuum for such session for the welfare
of our beloved country.

I knew about the session for my sister who is a
Biology student at Al-Mustansiriya University.
She told me that her instructor had joined a free
session in ICDL institute, Ur Quarter.
She told me that a graduate of this session will
acquire a certificate and a job opportunity
through the Institute.
I applied at the Institute after I finished my final
fourth year examination on 8/6/2008.
After satisfying all the requirements, I joint NAJAH Establishment to study “Office” and
“Windows XP”; I benefited a lot from the free book.
I very happy for having joined the session and acquired the book. I encourage others to
join in order to get a certificate internationally acknowledged

Managing Time The number of students sign up is 26 graduated in Managing Time, Course for the
11-12 of June 2008. Time is the most precious and hardest to use wisely. But it is possible
to achieve more if you can make timework. This workbook is designed to help student to:
Identify ways to manage your time better; Set priorities for your own activities; Deal with
problems in Managing Time to help you using your time more effectively.

Attendance: Business Edge course is not well-known in Iraq until IACCI started to advertise
and promote tremendously around Iraq. Although the course is free of charge. Course Evaluation by students: 26 students evaluated the training courses with percentage evaluation form. Their
evaluations were diverse but encouraging.

Hay Oer Employment Center This year, IACCI initiated employment centers in the Shia area. The address is

Success Stories I am Hesen Ayad Taha, I am a graduate of the Technical Preparatory School/Computers Dept. I knew about the session at Ur Quarter’s DAC. I joined “Quality Concepts” course to learn about Quantity, Quality Assurance and Quality Cost. The session was beneficial and interesting. I have 7 years experience in so ware, hardware, installa on of wireless and cable system, computers system, etc. I worked as a computers instructor at a humanitarian organization in Al‐
Karada. I am wafaa Hamel, I am a graduate of Commercial preparatory School. I knew about the session from Ur Quarter EC. I joined “Marketing” course. The session was very beneficial and interesting.
