The Green Bay and De Pere Antiquarian Society: Celebrating
Ninety Years of Preserving Wisconsin’s Cultural Heritage
Article & photos by Brian Maloney
Most visitors to the 56th Annual Green Bay and De Pere Antiquarian Society
Holiday Antique Show, held on November 16th and 17th at Green Bay’s Rock
Garden Conference Center, probably came just to shop among the quality
antiques dealers the show has become known for. What they may not realize is
that the show serves a higher purpose: helping fund the preservation of the
area’s cultural heritage. The Society has raised more than a million dollars over
the years to purchase, restore, and preserve artifacts of local historical significance.

mass distribution of hundreds of thousands of colorful
informative bookmarks. Titled “Antiques, How to Shop
Wisely”, the educational pieces give bullet points of information to be considered when shopping for antiques.
“When shopping for antiques and collectibles, ask the
dealer. How long have you been in business? How do
you know any item is genuine, not a fake or reproduction? What are your criteria for identifying the item?
Will you give me a written guarantee that the item is
authentic? What is your return policy?”
In addition, Johnson and Fontinel were successful in
their request that Consumer Information on Safely
Shopping for Antiques and Collectibles be added to the
FTC website. The two women spent nearly six months
working with the FTC on the specific information that
is now available. The recently posted article may be
accessed by visiting the FTC.gov website or simply

Over break, Mekenzy was asked to practice with the high school team.
She was excited and did an awesome job of keeping up with their shots. She
had a couple of games and one was important, it was against the team they
will play to determine who goes to state. Of course, she shut them out with a
score of 0-5. She has won all her games so far. Her favorite gift was a
Detroit Red Wings sweatshirt from grandma and grandpa.
Tia did alot of baking and helped me alot. She loved going shopping for fun and
just trying on fancy dresses and shoes! Her favorite gift was dangling earrings
and a silk skirt. I think she enjoyed the downtime the most.
Brandon had more games than Mekenzy and his sisters made it to almost all of
them, which made him smile. He liked when it snowed all day and night by us.
He built a snowman and had fun tackling it, a huge fort that him and Mekenzy
built. They hauled all kinds of huge ice chunks down the road with our moving
dolly. His favorite gift was a pair of black and pink tennis shoes. He loves pink!

Festive Mood at 56th Annual Green Bay and De Pere
Antiquarian Society Holiday Antique Show
Article & photos by Brian Maloney
The Green Bay and De Pere Antiquarian Society Holiday Antiques Show is one
of the Badger State’s oldest antiques events, started way back in 1957. The society
itself is far older though, founded more than eighty-eight years ago by local businesswoman Jesse Buchanan. She had an ambitious goal: to make Green Bay an American
center of history and culture. Buchanan was tireless in advocating historical preservation in the area and did much to preserve its treasures. She, along with a group of
like-minded area women, founded the Green Bay and De Pere Antiquarian Society
in 1923.
Distressed upon seeing early Green Bay artifacts being sold to distant collectors,
Buchanan began a systematic search for historically accurate artifacts for the area’s
historic landmarks. That effort, often supplemented with loans or donations from her
own collections and coffers, also helped refurbish many area museums. She was also
instrumental in initiating a campaign to restore several historic buildings located at
nearby Heritage Hill State Historical Park. Today’s members continue the pursuit
and restoration of original or period authentic furnishings for area museums.
Over the past fifty-plus years, the Antiquarian Society has gifted, through a Grant
Program, over $500,000 to many local museums and other historical sites. Recent
examples include a grant of $25,000 to assist in the restoration of the venerable
Green Bay City Stadium. Funds are used for preservation and restoration of cultural
artifacts throughout the community.
And the Green Bay and De Pere Antiquarian Society’s Annual Holiday Antique
Show has been an important piece of that fund-raising pie for all of those years. This
56th edition of the show was a big success, with good attendance and sales on both
Friday and Saturday. Quality dealers from Wisconsin and the surrounding states
journeyed to the Rock Garden Convention Center with a wide variety of quality
antiques and artifacts.
Milwaukee’s Pierce Regal was among them, their booth filled with period furniture and lighting to furnish the finest home. More classic American furniture awaited at Haven Hill Antiques, from a cherry butler’s chest with burl-veneer interior fittings to a handsome oak hall tree sporting carved winged Griffins and its original
ornate coat-hooks.
And the Holidays were certainly in the air at Collector’s Paradise, where vintage
Christmas items of every description could be found, including a small forest of vintage holiday trees. My favorite there: a Mid Century Bubble Lite Christmas tree, 3’
tall & priced at $295.
En Vogue came from the Windy City with a fabulous array of vintage jewelry,
including the largest assortment of Miriam Haskell pieces you’ll ever see. And
Wintergreen Farm’s display of Native American artifacts was just as impressive,
from Inuit beaded sealskin moccasins to a pristine Sioux breechclout.
You can find more information about both the society and the show (and make a
donation if you like) at the Green Bay - De Pere Antiquarian Society’s website www.antiquariansocietygbdp.org. And as always, keep an eye out for next year’s

Gone Wild for Manatee Gift Adoptions!
Adopting real Florida manatees for family and friends this Holiday season is natureinspired, thoughtful gift-giving that helps Save the Manatee Club increase conservation and education efforts for the endangered marine mammals and their aquatic
habitat. It also helps holiday shoppers stretch those often limited budgets.
Last year, Lisa Cartossa from Holt, Missouri, decided that since her two young
nieces, Lily and Rose from North Carolina, were fortunate enough to have most
everything they needed, she would adopt manatees as Christmas presents for them.
Lisa chose adoptees “Paddy Doyle” and “Flash,” who regularly winter at Blue
Spring State Park, from Save the Manatee Club’s Adopt-A-Manatee program. All of
the manatees available for adoption can be viewed on the Club’s website at
http://www.savethemanatee.org/adoptees.htm. Two new manatees recently added to
the list of adoptees are from Alabama, “Zewie” and “Bama.”
An annual manatee adoption costs $25, which is just a little over $2 a month, and
includes a color photo of a real manatee, an adoption certificate, biography, membership handbook, and subscriptions to the Club's newsletters which feature updated
reports on the manatees in the adoption program. Shipping is free within the United
States. Gift adoptions are sent with a personalized holiday message. Or for a $35
tax-deductible donation, each new member will also receive Save the Manatee
Club's 2012 wall calendar, featuring spectacular manatee photos to enjoy all year and
well past.
“When my nieces received their adoption packets for Christmas, I was told you could
not have heard two children screaming with excitement louder than they were,” said
Lisa. “Immediately, the manatees’ pictures went on their walls. They knew about

manatees, but Save the Manatee Club’s adoption program created this passion and
enthusiasm in them that’s very wonderful for me as an adult to be part of. I can’t tell
you how thrilled my nieces are to get the newsletter addressed personally to them.
They read every word front to back. Who knows, the Club may have just created the
next generation of marine life specialists dedicated to the conservation of these wonderful creatures.”
Save the Manatee Club, a national nonprofit organization, was co-founded thirty
years ago by singer/songwriter Jimmy Buffett. Funds from the Holiday gift adoptions help with manatee rescue, rehabilitation, and release efforts; research; education and public awareness projects; conservation work to protect manatees and their
habitat; and for programs in the United States, Central and South America, the Wider
Caribbean, and West Africa. Manatees are listed as endangered at the state, federal,
and international levels.
Patrick Rose, aquatic biologist and Executive Director of the Club, points out that
manatees face tremendous challenges to their survival from human activities. “In
Florida alone, since record-keeping began in 1974, more than 38% of manatee deaths
where cause of death is known were human-related. So it is imperative that we continue to educate the public about the presence of manatees in our waters. Adopting
a manatee is a great way to learn more about this beloved species and how to help
make a difference in their lives.”
Find out more information about manatees and Holiday gift adoptions by contacting
Save the Manatee Club at 500 N. Maitland Ave., Maitland, FL 32751, or calling 1800-432-JOIN (5646), or visiting their web site at www.savethemanatee.org, where
you can also sign up for the Club’s free E-Newsletter. Also, discover a variety of
manatee items in the Club’s gift catalog at http://www.savethemanatee.org/shop/.

Badger State Auction Sells
Collection of Wisconsin Sports
Memorabilia
By Doug Welch
Collectors of rare and unique Wisconsin sports memorabilia benefitted from a
Badger State Auction Saturday, December 1 at America’s Best Value Inn, Janesville.
When Milton’s Kevin Bergeron decided that not all of the items in his amazing collection of Packers, Brewers, Bucks and Milwaukee Braves memorabilia could transition to a smaller home, he called Badger State’s Bob Johnson.
Johnson and his Badger State crew hosted the morning-long sale at the Janesville
hotel where more than 145 registered buyers bid on 327 items that brought Bergeron
more than $7,500.
In addition, one of the sale’s highlights was Bergeron’s 2009 Harley Davidson Road
King that fetched $11,000.
A number of furniture and household items, including several curio cabinets, also
interested buyers and brought top dollar.
But it was Bergeron’s large collection of Wisconsin sports memorabilia that gained
the most attention on the day.
Bergeron has been collecting with passion for most of his life but had to part with a
large portion of the collection after he and his wife, Marcee, decided to move into a
smaller home.
“It was kind of amazing going through all this stuff,” Bergeron said. “I found a lot
of stuff I’d forgotten I had.
“I feel good about getting a lot of these items back out on the market and in circulation.”
Some of Bergeron’s more unique items included a Bart Starr autographed football
with case that sold for $135; a Ray Nitchke signed football for $155; a signed
Milwaukee Braves scorebook for $90; a Robin Yount 3,000 hit print for $125; a
Braves pennant for $40; Bart Starr and Willie Davis decanters for $130.
In all, 327 items brought $7,5320.
Badger State Auction, based in Milton, has conducted more than160 auctions thus
far in 2012. Badger State has sold farm land at record prices this year and also specializes in farm, estate, living estate business liquidation, fund raising and consignment auctions.

7th Annual Top of the
Class Antiques Show
Forty quality antiques dealers from throughout the mid-west will converge
on the Illinois State University campus in Normal, IL from Friday, January 25
through Sunday, January 27, 2013.
Last year's edition featured top dealers from eight mid-western states ranging from Ohio to Iowa and from Michigan to Tennessee. A few additional vendors
have been added for this year's show which promises to bring a wide range of style
and eras for display and sale.
Many of the vendors carry a general line, but some of the specialty dealers
will bring quality toys, early Americana, jewelry, primitives, quilts, and hunting/fishing collections. The show strives to be a balanced one by also featuring furniture,
art-glass and art-pottery, silver and glassware, advertising, paper, and books.
The show is a benefit for the students of the School of Communication at
Illinois State and provides a real-life laboratory for students majoring in Public
Relations and Communication. Senior students are involved in publicity and hospitality aspects of the show. PR students participate in planning and organizing show
promotion to local and national media. One of the trade-marks of the show is vendor hospitality as students become involved in move-in and move-out support, booth
sitting, and other dealer assistance.
Students also help maintain the show web site: www.topoftheclassantiques.com which offers driving directions, a list of vendors, and other show materials.
Show hours are Friday, January 25, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Saturday, January 26,
10:00 - 5:00 and Sunday, January 27, 10:00 - 4:00 p.m. Admission is $5 and is valid
all three days. The show is held in the Bone Student Center at Illinois State
University, 100 N. University Ave., Normal, IL. The Bloomington/Normal community is in the center of Illinois, at the cross-roads of Interstate 55, 74, and 39.

Book Description
Historically, societies of women gathering together for the purpose of quiltmaking
have been referred to as quiltings, frolicks, and bees. This book brings together
newspaper articles about their needlework activities with quilts inscribed with hundreds of names - known as signature quilts. Quilting communities encompassed
families, church groups, civic and social organizations, and varied awareness
groups. Using their quiltmaking skills, women comforted both their families and
those in need. They successfully raised monies for their villages and towns, for veterans and orphaned children, for worldwide organizations such as the Red Cross,
and benevolent causes close to home. This nearly 200-year tradition in quiltmaking
carries into the 21st Century. With needle and scroll, quiltmakers continue to capture their special family events, hails and farewells of friends and coworkers, and
needful societal causes in the medium of cloth.
Excitement Building For
11th Annual Antique
Sporting Collectible Show
This annual event held in Oshkosh, Wisconsin is gaining a lot of popularity with both collectors and dealers. The Oshkosh Sunnyview Expo Center is an
ideal location for this show. The modern facility is spacious, bright and clean. It is
an easy drive from all of the major cities, with easy access off Highway 41. There
are acres of lighted and paved parking.
"At this time we are looking at around 125 dealers with about 350 tables"
states organizer Dennis Gauger. The contracts have been signed, with the show to
be held the 1st weekend in February through the year 2018. We feel it is important
to remain consistent. Each year the show will be held the same time (1st weekend
in February), the same place (Sunnyview Expo Center in Oshkosh, Wisconsin) and
the same hours Saturday, from 9-4 and Sunday from 9-2.
The first weekend in February is a prime date for the show to be held. It is
a sure cure for "Cabin Fever", which its just about then. We are fortunate to have
many fine reputable dealers that assist in the promotion of the show each year.
Each year there is more merchandise suitable for the novice collectors. We
also have many items that the general public bring in for appraisal or to sell the
weekend of the show. There is an amazing number and type of items that will be
bought and sold including, Decoys, Fishing and Hunting Antiques, Traps, Indian
Artifacts, Wildlife Mounts, Early Advertising, Baseball and Football memorabilia,
Military Items, Carvings, Wildlife Art, Archery, Outdoor Books and Literature,
Knives, Golfing Items and so Much More!
Due to the quantity of merchandise, Friday is dealer set-up fay. Some of the
dealers with larger inventory can drive right into the building for unloading. Friday
is also an opportunity for a lot of networking among dealers who will be too busy
during show hours because of the heavy show traffic. we are starting to attract dealers from neighboring states due to the continued success of the show and the low
cost of lodging and fine restaurants in close proximity to the Expo center. Each year
there will be new promotions. Live Saturday morning radio broadcast. Last Year's
free Sunday morning breakfast at the Expo Center for all participating dealers and
door prizes for the general public were appreciated by all and will be continued
again this year. Dealer fees will remain the same low and the general admission for
the public will remain the same at $5.00. Children will be admitted free to encourage young people to participate and start collecting got themselves. Sunday is
"Ladies Day" with Free Admission for the women.
Food Service will again be on site. In addition there will be 24 hour security and surveillance cameras. Show hours are Saturday, February 2nd from 9-4 and
Sunday, February 3rd from 9-2. Dealer Set-up Friday afternoon and evening and
Saturday and Sunday at 7AM. Expo Center directions: just north of Oshkosh,
Wisconsin off Highway 41 (Exit 124) Jackson St.

Founded in 1947, The International Wood Collectors Society is devoted to distributing information on collecting wood, correctly identifying and naming wood specimens, and using wood in creative crafts. The society has a broad range of members
including artisians, hobbyists, wood collectors, foresters, scientists, woodworkers,
wood dealers and dendrologists representing over 35 countries.
The www.woodcollectors.org website is useful for both IWCS members and nonmembers alike. A first-time visitor to the site cannot help but be impressed by the
fact that four major objectives are given right up front in only four sentences - 1)
the history and purpose of the society, 2) identifies the membership and what they
do, 3) wood as a collecting area, and 4) membership benefits. All in 20 seconds!
The rest of the homepage is done in a creative magazine format with current news
and features about the society and the collecting area. A toolbar of drop-downs at
the top provide additional information on how to join, on wood collecting and wood
crafting, member requests, a wood auction, and more.
We like this website. It does a good job of serving both the IWCS membership as
well as other site guests, and is done in a pleasing format that seems to blend both
the electronic and the printed worlds.
The Association of Collecting Clubs is pleased to designate The International Wood
Collectors Society as an ACC Featured Club Website recipient.

Red Wing Collectors Society
Creates Young Collectors Club
RED WING, MN – Do you know a collector between the ages of 15 and 20 who is
interested in history, art and collecting? If so, it's time to bring them to the Red Wing
Collectors Society (RWCS) Convention this summer. In celebration of the RWCS
35th Anniversary, a new Young Collectors Club has been developed for collectors
between the ages of 15 and 20 that will make its debut during the event. This program will be the next step for young collectors to continue learning about Red Wing
and its wares.
For many years, the RWCS faced the challenge of encouraging the next generation
to maintain its interest in Red Wing’s wares and the RWCS. Eleven years ago,
Wendy Callicoat and Sue Jones Tagliapietra, who at the time were members of the
RWCS Executive Board, developed the KidsView Educational Program at the
RWCS Convention to attract a younger generation of collectors to the RWCS.

in collecting as they become teenagers and young adults. Therefore, new education
and retention opportunities were explored, and the new program was created for
young adult collectors.
Young collectors are encouraged to attend sessions from 10 a.m. to noon on
Thursday, July 7 and 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, July 8, where they will develop new
friendships through peer-to-peer discussion groups and hands-on activities.
Collectors are encouraged to bring their computers for use during the sessions. A
field trip will also be taken to the Pottery Place Street Sale, so participants should
bring some spending money. Young collectors who participate in this first year of the
program will become a charter member of the RWCS Young Collectors Club and
receive a special stoneware crock to commemorate the beginning of this adventure.
Watch for more details about the schedule of events on the RWCS website and the
RWCS/Kids View Facebook pages. If you’re interested in attending or volunteering
during the new program, or have a question, please contact Wendy Callicoat at
[email protected].
The Red Wing Collectors Society was founded in 1977 in Red Wing, Minn. and is
devoted to educating people about all American pottery. There are more than 4,000
members worldwide. The Red Wing Potteries had diverse pottery lines that included
stoneware, dinnerware and art pottery. Annual membership costs only $25. For more
information or to become a member, call the RWCS business office at 800-977-7927,
e-mail [email protected] or log on to www.redwingcollectors.org.

Callicoat says the new challenge has been retaining KidsView participants’ interest
@RWPottery!
“This program has developed into an exceptional part of the RWCS,” Callicoat says.
“We have seen many kids come to our seminars during summer Convention and
enjoy the activities of KidsView, only to age out and lose interest when they graduate from the program at age 15. In years past, many of the graduates have volunteered to assist during KidsView activities.”

It is also timely to note that Schiffer Publishing, Ltd. currently has the 5th

The Marble Collectors Society of America (MCSA) was founded in 1975
as a nonprofit organization established for charitable, scientific, literary & educational purposes. Society objectives include gathering & disseminating information
as well as performing services to further the hobby of marbles, marble collecting, &
the preservation of the history of marble s& marble making.
Some of the MCSA’s major accomplishments to date are the uninterrupted
issuance of the Society’s quarterly newsletter, Marble Mania, & accompanying
Calendar of Meets, shows & auctions; various surveys; photographing & publishing
color sheets; gathering & placing museum collections, in addition to those currently
housed at The Smithsonian Institute, The Corning Museum of Glass, & the Museum of
American Glass at WheatonArts; publication of price guides with periodic updates;
ongoing work towards establishing a library of articles & marble related material; preparation & publication of contributor listings; research & issuance of articles concerning
marble factories & contemporary marble makers; publication of books dedicated to the
hobby of marble collecting; classification & appraisal services.
Finally, MCSA has been an active & vital participant in the growth & visibility of the marble field throughout its 35 year history. The Society also recognizes
its obligations as the leading voice & reporting agency for the hobby, a task taken
very seriously.

Clubs Reaching New Audiences
For many traditional collecting clubs trying to reverse a trend of declining membership, success stories are not abundant.
Reaching out to new audiences can be difficult... but it can also be successful.
But to be successful, club leadership may need to think outside the traditional box.
No longer are “traditional” collectors - those who collect rows upon rows of thimbles, or bells, or decoys, or (fill in the blank), the biggest group in the antiques, arts
and collectibles industry. These collectors - who make up the majority of most
clubs’ members - are still a very important group. Most of us are a part of this group.
However, the growth in the industry is in other “non-traditional” groups - people
who will more than likely represent new target audiences for those clubs willing to
make some serious changes to increase your memberships and stay viable.
The Association of Collecting Clubs has worked continuously over the years on the
areas of club promotion and membership recruitment. Admittedly, many of our suggestions and tools have been along traditional lines. Starting with our next
ACC/NAC Update Newsletter, we will be including a regular feature on reaching
new audiences with some more unconventional approaches. Many of you may simply shake your head and say “not for our club.” That’s fine. Hopefully, there may
be some ideas your club leadership can discuss and perhaps implement.
And, of course, if your club has already something rather unique which is working
in bringing in new members, we would love to hear about it. Send your comments
to: [email protected] or postally to: ACC, 18222 Flower Hill Way #299,
Gaithersburg, MD 20879.

National Depression Glass Association
The National Depression Glass Association - preserving America's glass manufacturing heritage - is dedicated to the preservation of American made glassware manufactured just before, during, and immediately after the "Great Depression". The
organization is also dedicated to the dissemination of educational information
regarding the same - including a membership newsletter, "The News & Views," an
annual convention and show, and a variety of other member services. The NDGA's
ultimate goal is a first-class museum of American-made glass and related items.
The NDGA website - www.ndga.net - has been greatly improved with a total new
design and look earlier this year. The primary purpose of the site is to provide information to the members and other site visitors. The homepage provides a listing of
contents and features the latest NDGA news. Appropriately heading this list is the
latest news on the much anticipated July 2009 annual convention.
There is a growing section on The National Collection and how to donate either
glass or cash for this project.
The site contains a wealth of information. Articles on Depression Glass, dozens of
past features from the NDGA publications, glass reference books, past glass company advertisements, a directory of glass dealers and another of glass collecting
clubs and photos of members' glass collections.
Anyone who happens to have the least bit of interest and appreciation for glassware
is going to find this site a place on the Internet to visit again and again... and it must
be a tremendous resource for NDGA members. Actually there also are membersonly pages on the site in addition to all the public pages.

Antique Vintage Handkerchiefs
Fun To Collect And Use
By Shelby Weister, Four Seasons Antique Mall
Handkerchiefs have been around for centuries, but in the 1920’s, Kleenex tissues
began to take their place. A hanky became an inexpensive accessory for an outfit
and the perfect “Christmas gift for a friend or relative because you didn’t need to
know the size to purchase. Also they were a special gift easy to enclose in a card
and mail.
Today, many ladies carry or tie them on their purses or put them in the cuff of a
blouse so they are handy when needed. The distinguishing features of handkerchiefs
are patterns and designs. They come in many styles, colors and shapes. Many animals, such as dogs, appear o handkerchiefs, while floral ones are plentiful.
Children’s hankies depict cartoon characters or nursery rhymes. In the 1930’s,
many children went to school with a handkerchief pinned to their clothing.
There are designer handkerchiefs, and some are signed like works of art. Though
they were mass produced, you’ll be able to recognize the style of a particular artist
even if the handkerchief isn’t signed.
History and patriotism is a way of learning of a handkerchief’s age or time span.
the red, white and blue hankies represent the armed forces and instill patriotism in
the wearer. Many military personnel purchased hankies as gifts for loved ones.
“Remember Pearl Harbor” is one of the most poignant of all the hankies. After
World War II, gas rationing stopped and many people took to the road for vacations.
No item was a better souvenir than a handkerchief - inexpensive and small.
Most handkerchiefs are cotton or linen and most have hand-rolled edges. There
are also some that are silk.
To bring your handkerchiefs back to a nice condition, try to remove stains by soaking them in Oxy Clean or use cold water with hand soap. Always rinse thoroughly
and never squeeze or wring it dry. Lay the handkerchief flat on a towel to dry and
then iron it and store with acid free paper between each handkerchief.
Lace, crocheted and tatted handkerchiefs are very nice for special events, such as
confirmation or first communion. For a wedding, a handkerchief can meet the need
for something borrowed, blue, old or new.

Nipper Collectibles
Volumn II
The Nipper and gramophone trademark, known as “His Master's Voice” was one of
the recognizable images of the twentieth century. Nipper is a dog of mixed lineage, part
bull terrier and fox terrier. The real Nipper lived only eleven years. His popularity as the
model in the dog and gramophone trademark has continued since the early 1900s. Nipper
retained his popularity with Americans and dog lovers throughout the world because of the
following: The unusual and quizzical pose of the little dog in the painting of Nipper supposedly listening to "His Master's Voice" has fascinated young and old; the dog and gramophone
trademark has appeared on billions of disc records, CD's and electronic entertainment
devices as well as in countless advertisements; Nipper has been duplicated and reproduced
in many different sizes and forms.
Nipper Collectibles Volume II is written to supplement the information and collectibles found in Nipper Collectibles The RCA Victor Trademark Dog, a book we published
in 2007. Nipper collectibles found in the 350 pages of Volume II are not found in the first
Nipper Collectibles book, as collectors brought to our attention many vintage Nipper items
not previously described. Many new Nipper collectibles have arrived at the marketplace.
Perhaps this is because the trademark is no longer a registered trademark in the United
States. Once the world's most recognizable trademark, Nipper can now only appear in the
country of origin. Because of territorial licensing, he can no longer be used as a tool for
global marketing and identification of a product. Years of neglect and corporate mismanagement have diminished Nipper's recognition by younger generations.
This update is organized chronologically. The oldest Nipper collectibles are found
in the first chapter and newest collectibles are found in Chapter five. New reproductions and
Nipper imposters are found in the last chapter of the update.
There are an amazing number of Nipper collectibles. We received e-mails, telephone calls and letters from collectors and Nipper lovers informing us of their Nipper collectibles. The number of collectibles was accumulating and we were urged to do an update
to our book Nipper Collectibles The RCA Victor Trademark Dog. Enjoy Nipper Collectibles
Volume II and collecting Nipper memorabilia.
The cost of Vol. II is $36.00 or purchase both Volumes I & II for $60.00. To order
