Summer is a time for big outdoor events,
festivals or get-togethers and event
organizers, as well as the cities in which
they are held, are currently putting on
more and more eco-responsible, zero
waste and carbon neutral happenings.
To help achieve this objective, RCI
ENVIRONMENT’s events department offers
a turnkey package that includes planning
services, collection equipment rentals, a
sorting and maintenance unit and waste
collection (recyclable, compostable and
final waste).
To enhance your event’s visibility and
chances for success, RCI ENVIRONMENT

Spring Thaw and
Reduced Load Limits
Managing Short-Term
Needs
During the spring thaw, the Quebec
Transport Ministry (MTQ) requires that all
carriers reduce the weight of their loads.
For roll-off trucks, a load restriction of
approximately 5 metric tonnes (11,000
lbs) is imposed on both clients and
carriers. Violations could result in costly
fines that we would have to pass on to
customers. The MTQ will issue a public
notice on this matter and we will post it
on our website as soon as it becomes
available. Please consult the Spring Thaw
report on MTQ’s website at
www.mtq.gouv.qc.ca to learn more about
these regulations.
Construction and renovation sites as well as
spring-cleaning operations generate
short-term waste management needs. We
offer a complete range of containers, roll-off
containers, compactors and portable toilets.
For better site management, contact us at
either 514 352-2020 or
[email protected] and ask for
our short-term rental department.

RCI TECHNOLOGIES – Recovering Waste
Did you know that …
RCI ENVIRONMENT created RCI TECHNOLOGIES to provide optimum waste recovery solutions
u
In France, hotel electricity consumption
has been reduced because hairdryers are
now equipped with a button that requires
constant finger pressure to make them
work;
u
Water pressure has been reduced in
bathroom faucets; water flows, but at a
slightly slower rate;
u
Private cars come equipped with speed
control devices to reduce gas consumption as well as accidents.
according to the 4 R principle (reduction, reuse, recycling, recovery).
Waste recovery technology relies on innovation to maximize waste’s full potential and
reduce landfill burial.
The production of biogas from organic waste biomethanation represents RCI TECHNOLOGIES’ first major project. This approach meets the objectives of the Government of Quebec
that hopes to generate biofuel through biomethanation as a replacement for fossil fuels.
This process represents one of the most effective waste recovery techniques.
The biomethanation process consists
of five stages:
u
Sludge processing
Liquid processing

Biogas production

To encourage physical activity among
young people in the communities that it
serves, RCI ENVIRONNEMENT has become
a sponsoring partner of the Laval
Regional Soccer Association (ARS Laval).
This support comes in addition to its
contribution to the South-Shore (ARSRS),
Concordia (ARSC) and Laurentian (ARSL)
regional soccer associations.
To help the victims of the January 12th
earthquake in Haiti, RCI ENVIRONNEMENT
and V Télé have joined together to
purchase and send more than 700 tents
and shelters as well as a large number of
mattresses to Port-au-Prince. This will
provide several months of basic comfort
to over 700 families.

208 young elite players to participate in a
five-day football school. It will also make it
possible to award 30 scholarships to
students throughout Quebec, invite 50
underprivileged youths to attend a
football camp in Quebec City in May,
organize four football jamborees featuring
mini-tournaments for 4,000 players in the
summer of 2010 and support the Wilson

limited volumes, it is inadequate for large-scale applications.

RCI TECHNOLOGIES’ initial projects will focus on the recovery of organic waste, which
