The Polk CDC Home Repair & Improvement Loan
Program has funds available to provide low interest loans
with very affordable payment plans to assist income eligible owner-occupied households with needed repairs or
upgrades. Eligible activities under this grant include but
are not limited to correcting health & safety issues such
as: wells, septic or sewer systems, structural problems
through foundation repair, dry rot removal, plumbing,
electrical, heating, roof repairs, and other upgrades.

American Outdoors is Polk
County's locally owned and
operated sporting goods
store. They carry everything
an outdoor enthusiast needs
prior to embarking on their
next adventure. Fishing and hunting gear, guns and ammunition, targets, reloading supplies, holsters and optics barely scrapes the surface of their inventory.
American Outdoors also provides concealed carry classes for both Oregon or the
popular Utah permits. Due to overwhelming requests from the community they
now offer Live Fire courses with NRA Certified instructors. They also offer
hunter safety courses for all ages through the Oregon Department of Fish

In 2011 Louie Kazemier purchased the dairy from his
father-in-law, Gus Wybenga. The 1650 dairy cows, which are
milked 3 times a day produce over 15,000 gallons of milk
each day. There is a total of 3,500 Holstein animals housed at
the dairy. The Rickreall Dairy has 28 employees, all of whom
have worked for the dairy on average, 14 years. Rickreall
Dairy also farms over 1000 acres.
