Trio Bembe "Escola de Samba" School Workshop
Trio Bembe “Escola de Samba” School Workshop
Trio Bembe creates infectious, danceable music that moves kids. Their upbeat
“Samba School” workshop invites children celebrate rhythm from around the
world and to discover the Latin spirit of the Canadian Prairies.
Amber Epp, Scott Senior, and Rodrigo Muñoz form this Latin World music trio.
Having chased their passion to Cuba, Brazil, and Chile, their mastery of Latin
music drives kids into a rhythmic frenzy.
In it’s purest form, music stems from the voice and the body. Long before any
musical instruments were invented, people connected through sounds – calls,
claps, stomps, and slaps. Trio Bembe will show children how to make fun,
rhythmic Latin music with their own bodies. Children will learn to sing Brazilian
and Afro-Cuban songs while accompanying themselves with their bodies. This
workshop is effective for community building, as children must work as team to
make their distinct musical parts fit together.
The “Escola de Samba” workshop is appropriate for all age groups. While the
workshop is largely participatory, it also includes a musical performance
component by Trio Bembe.
Please review the music samples, photos, biographies and more on the Trio
Bembe website, www.triobembe.com.
