I
f there was one word I would use to describe Q4
2015, Q4 was indeed an AMAZING quarter!
Q4 was coloured by our anniversary celebratory dinner
events as our anniversary committees worked hard to
organise such events in Miri, Kuching and KL. Kudos to the
committees for a great job done!
One of the milestones achieved in the quarter was the
successful revamp of our Group’s vision and mission
statements, and also the formulation of our Group’s core
values. The statements and core values will serve as our
guide to achieve more success stories in time to come!
We ended the year on a high note by achieving 2 significant
awards – the productivity-linked wages system (PLWS) award
by the Ministry of Human Resources, Malaysia, and for the
second consecutive year, one of Malaysia’s Top 20 Property
Developers by the Edge Malaysia’s Top Property Developers
Awards 2015. These are indeed wonderful achievements
for the Group! The quarter was also made more memorable
when our beloved Chairman, Datuk Amar Abdul Hamed Bin
Haji Sepawi was adjudged the BrandLaureate’s prestigious
‘Man of the Year’ Brand ICON Leadership Award 2015, an
internationally recognised award. Datuk Amar Hamed, our
heartiest congratulations and we salute you!

Organizes Fire Drill

To facilitate greater awareness towards the do’s and
don’ts during fire emergencies, we organized a fire drill
at our Rock Commercial Centre offices in Kuching. A
joint effort between our HSE department and BOMBA,
the activity also featured a fire safety briefing by
BOMBA’s representatives and training session on how
to operate a fire extinguisher.

Contributes A Haemodialysis

In our effort to assist the increasing number
of kidney patients in Sarawak, we contributed
a haemodialysis machine to Sarawak General
Hospital’s (SGH) Nephrology Department. The
contribution was also made in conjunction with
our Group’s 20th Anniversary celebration this year.
The machine which was handed over by our Board
Member, Datu (Dr) Haji Abdul Rashid bin Mohd
Azis, was received by the Hospital Director, Dr
Chin Zin Hang.
Naim Adopts Best Practices in
Safety: Contributes Significantly
To Manhours Without LTI

Our Bintulu Oil and Gas team did us proud when
they were acknowledged as significant contributors
towards PETRONAS’ achievement of 30 million
manhours without Lost Time and Injury (LTI) for its
LNG Train 9 Project. A celebratory event was also
held to commemorate this great achievement.

As part of our Group’s 20th Anniversary CSR activities,
we organized a Blood Donation Drive in aid of the blood
bank. Held during our Anniversary Christmas Carnival
at our Kuching Sales Gallery, more than 30 donors
participated in the activity.

Naim Helps Schools: Organises ‘Project X’mas Cheers’
1 December – 31 December 2015
As part of our Group’s anniversary community outreach
activities, we organized the ‘Project X’mas Cheers’ in aid of
SK Semerah Padi, SMK Semerah Padi and SK Taba Sait.
The month long activity appealed for contributions of school
bags and stationeries by our Kuching Valued Partners in
aid of students of these schools.
The response to the appeal was overwhelming, with many
Valued Partners contributing cash and the required items.
Due to this support, we managed to benefit a total of 285
students from these schools. In addition, we also contributed
school supplies to children of
various single mothers.

Naim Spreads X’mas Goodwill: Organises X’mas Party For Children

We put a smile on the faces of more than 20 children
from Rumah Kanak Kanak Kuching, a charitable
organization focusing on underprivileged children
when we organized a special X’mas party for them.
Held during our Anniversary Christmas Carnival in
Kuching, it was fun-filled day for the children as they
partook in sumptuous food and exciting games.

Children (PIBAKIS), Miri Single Mother’s Association and
Mental Health Association.
We made contributions to eight charitable bodies
in Miri as part of our anniversary corporate social
responsibility initiatives. The recipients were Home for
the Aged, Malaysian Red Crescent Society, PERYATIM,
Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society, Miri Autistic
Association (PAM), Parents’ Association for the Special

Naim Inks MOU With Training And
Development Agencies
14 October 2015
In support of the State’s efforts in capacity building and
addressing the shortage of skilled workforce, we inked
an Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with two
established training and development providers, Project
Management Academy Sdn Bhd (PMA) and Akademi
Binaan Malaysia (ABM). The signing ceremony was held
during our Group’s 20th Anniversary Celebratory Dinner
at the Naim Clubhouse in Miri.
Under the MOU, Naim would be collaborating with
PMA and ABM in the provision of project managementrelated programmes and construction technical skills
courses in Sarawak.

Naim Wins Award For ProductivityLinked Wages System Implementation
22 October 2015
We won an award for practicing the Productivity-Linked
Wages System (PLWS) by the Department of Industrial
Relations, Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia. This
award was also the first industrial relations award for our
Group.
The award demonstrated the Group’s increased
focus in ensuring fairness in wage increases among
its workforce, in line with our aspiration of being an
employer of choice.
PMA is an associate company of Bridgit Sdn Bhd,
which has pioneered strategic and tactical Project
Management consulting and training programmes
globally, while ABM is part of Construction Industry
Development Board’s (CIDB) Construction Personnel
Development Division, tasked to provide skills and
management training in construction.

To commemorate our Group’s 20th Anniversary,
we organized a special carnival as a gesture of
appreciation for the community’s support throughout
the years. Held at the Permy Mall car park area, the
carnival featured an array of exciting carnival games for
adults and children. Patrons also had the opportunity to
savour a host of sumptuous cuisines on offer.
A fun day for guests
One of our Valued Partners, Roziah Hassan walked
away with a whopping RM1,500 cash prize for winning
our Group’s Anniversary HSE Poster Competition. The
Competition was organized as part of our HSE Campaign
Launch this year.
The Competition received good response with seven
entries being shortlisted – the shortlisted entries were
subsequently put to vote by Valued Partners during the
HSE Month this year.
Other shortlisted entries were that from Chong Tze Ai,
Ting Chee Lin, Abdul Mu’zz Bin Talib, Lee Li Chyn, Denise
Yong and Nur Adibah Syakirah Binti Alwi who walked
away with RM100 respectively.

Naim Signs Agreement With TM For UniFi
10 November 2015
In our effort to offer better service to our Bintulu
Paragon property purchasers, we entered into a
collaborative agreement with Telekom Malaysia (TM)
to provide UniFi high-speed broadband service for its
residents, making the development the first integrated
development in Bintulu to have UniFi coverage.
The collaboration allows Bintulu Paragon to be
connected to TM’s vast network infrastructure, allowing
residents to tap into TM’s high speed broadband and
data services via UniFi and TM’s Metro E services.
Under the collaboration, Bintulu Paragon’s infrastructure
can support TM’s internet speed beyond 30Mbps for its
residents and up to 1GB for its commercial residents,
adding great value to properties’ internet connectivity.

Naim Pays Tribute To The Media

We brought early Christmas cheers to the media
fraternity with our Media Nite event held in Kuching.
The annual event was organized as a tribute to the
media for its contribution in our communications
initiatives throughout the year, and a means to enhance
the working relationship with media members.
The highlight of the event was a special appearance
by the K-pop group ‘Red L’, with attractive lucky draw
prizes on offer for the lucky winners.

We added another feather to its cap by being
adjudged one of Malaysia’s Top 20 property developers
by the Edge Malaysia’s Top Property Developers Awards
2015. Being the only East Malaysia-based property
developer in the list of award recipients, our Group was
also adjudged the same in 2014.
The Award, which was established in 2003, ranks
Malaysia best property players from the consumer’s
perspective, based on their quantitative and qualitative
attributes.

It was a lucky day for our 20 Valued Partners, Carrie

Hui, Chong Siew Ping, Abdul Halim Abd Jalal, Ling Ing

Naim Organises Special Anniversary Dinner In KL
29 October 2015
We organised a special dinner in Eastin Hotel Kuala
Lumpur in conjunction with our 20th Anniversary
celebration. The event was graced by the Guest of
Honour, YB Dato’ Sri Mustapa Bin Mohamed, the
Minister of International Trade and Industry, Malaysia
and attended by 250 guests. Among those in
attendance were shareholders, analysts, contractors,
representatives from our Project Delivery Partner
(PDP) and Works Package Contractors (WPC) and
many more.

Naim Brings Anniversary Christmas Carnival To Kuching
13 December 2015
To end the year with a bang, we organized
our 20th Anniversary Christmas Carnival for the
Kuching community. Held at the car park area of
our Kuching Sales Gallery at the Rock Commercial
Centre, Green Road, the carnival was officiated
by the Mayor of the Council of the City of Kuching
South (MBKS) YBhg Dato James Chan Khay Syn.
In his address, Dato James Chan commended
our Group for its efforts for the Kuching community.
‘Over the years, Naim has evolved to become
a professional property development company,
building products of quality and class for the
Kuching people. The fact that Naim continuously
wins awards demonstrates that it has reached a
high level of standard,’ Dato Chan said.
He added that Naim’s true spirit was shown in
organising the Christmas Carnival.
‘Naim is a Bumiputera company – there are not
many Bumiputera companies which would organise
a Christmas Carnival. It is this spirit which should
be emulated,’ Dato Chan remarked.
Among the fun activities on offer were exciting
carnival games and competitions for adults and
children. In addition, guests were entertained by
the Christmas caroling group, comprising Naim’s
Valued Partners. Guests also had the chance to
savour popular stall and other cuisines.
Naim Signs MOU With Marriott For Its
First Hotel
18 December 2015
We signed an MOU with Luxury Hotels International
Management Company (Marriott) for our Group’s first hotel,
to be known as the ‘Fairfield by Marriott’. Developed as a
3-star international business hotel, it is located within our
Bintulu Paragon integrated development. With operations
expected to commence in 2017, the hotel signals our first
foray in bringing world-class hospitality service standards
to Bintulu.

We opened our Street Mall’s Block B and D, and Small
Office Versatile Office (SOVO) Block B for sale during
our Bintulu Paragon’s piazza launch event. The new
components received an encouraging response from
the public.
Among the exciting events to commemorate the piazza
launch were a marching band show by students of SMK
Bintulu, the special appearance by Leonard Thian Yu
Xiu, who was last year’s first runner-up of National Kids
Talent Search and also Melissa Wong, the first runner-up
of Miss Malaysia of the World 2009 and Elite Model Look
Malaysia 2008.

Naim Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary With
A Bang!!

We celebrated our 20th Anniversary with much fanfare, with the much awaited
celebratory dinners in all regions. The main celebratory dinner was held at our
newly completed clubhouse, the Naim Clubhouse@ SouthLake Permyjaya, Miri,
with concurrent dinners held in Grand Margherita Hotel, Kuching and Holiday Inn
Glenmarie, Kuala Lumpur. The celebratory dinners were also a milestone of sorts
as all regions were connected via a 2-way broadcast, a first for the Group.
The Miri event took centre stage for the night, with more
than 60 guests attending the event.The Guest of Honour
was His Excellency The Governor of Sarawak, Tun Pehin
Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud, while The Right Honorable
Chief Minister of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Haji
Adenan Bin Haji Satem was the Special Guest. Among
the distinguished guests in attendance were Yang Amat
Berbahagia Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib,
various State Cabinet Ministers, Assistant Ministers,
associates, partners, contractors, bankers, lawyers and
many more.
In his address, His Excellency Tun Pehin Sri Haji
Abdul Taib Mahmud congratulated Naim for its success
throughout the years and making Sarawak proud. His
Excellency also said that he was proud of Naim’s efforts in
developing Bandar Baru Permyjaya into a vibrant township
over the years. His Excellency expressed his confidence
that the Group would continue to be a responsible
corporate and achieve sustainable growth in the future.

Bin Haji Satem commended Naim
for its success and pointed out
that Naim plays a key role in
Sarawak’s development. He further remarked that Naim’s
success was very much in line with the State’s aspiration in
transforming Sarawak into a high income and developed
State by 2020.

Sepawi expressed his thanks for all support towards the
Group over the years and went on to announce our Group’s
anniversary ‘Dream Discount’ promotion. Meanwhile, our
Group Managing Director, Datuk Hasmi Hasnan embarked
on a poignant reminiscence of the Group’s 20-year journey
and expressed his gratitude to all parties who have made
our Group what it si today.
The highlight of the evening were the unforgettable
performances by Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Haji
Adenan, who serenaded the guests with songs such as
Elvis Presley’s ‘I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You’ and
P.Ramlee’s ‘Getaran Jiwa’ to raise funds for charity. He
was later accompanied by Datuk Amar Hamed and Datuk
Hasmi in the rendering of Frank Sinatra’s ‘My Way’, with a
total of RM200,000 being raised.
The event line-up also included a special appearance
by Miss Malaysia World 2014 Dewi Liana, the launch of the
Group’s S.P.I.R.I.T.E.D. core values and coffee table book,
and contribution handover to 8 Miri charities.
