The 580 Super ® Commander uses the 320HP Lycoming IO-580 for an effective gain of 80HP
to rocket your AC11 to cruise in the mid-teens in less than 15 minutes, driven by our
proprietary ram induction system and pulled by a three-blade Hartzell 78” scimitar. The STC
package consists of the custom Aerodyme induction system, engine baffles, twin cooler
system, alteration of your lower cowling to add the air scoop, and turn-key installation of the
new powerplant. You buy the engine and propeller package direct or we buy for you. We clean
and inspect your engine mount which continues in service. Single exhaust models are
reverted to new dual exhaust to relieve back pressure and optimize engine performance.
The 580 Super Commander climbs at a phenomenal 21% gradient, unheard of in its cabin
class, in comparison to the FAA Part 23 requirement of just 8.3%. Expedited climb to cruising
altitude allows demonstrated range of 780 nm, and endurance of 6 hours ROP.
