SUMMARY
In a very positive atmosphere, and the necessary response from a “target groups’’” aspect, we
held “BRINGING THE BUSINESS WORLD TO THE HOUSEHOLD” workshop.
A greeting was addressed by the Deputy Head of Entrepreneurship (Western Greece Region)
who communicated the support of the region in the development of SMEs through its strategic
planning and taking actions in order to connect the lot to a model of development, research,
state and active citizens.
Andreas Papadopoulos, Phd (candidate) in Economics and Business Administration and Educator
himself, presented the statistics of female employment in Europe and prejudices or stereotypes
that women themselves pose as obstacles to start entrepreneurial plans, including: the lack of
ICT skills, dealing with family or administrative ignorance.
In response to all of the above, Mrs. Tsekoura presented the “MUPYME” project, named the
context (countries and partnership) and the main objectives and forth coming results and
outcomes. Emphasis was given to the active role and contribution of the target group as cocreators of the upcoming Training Scheme. Their feedback is very important to develop a tailor
made training opportunity which seeks to satisfy the continuing training and learning of potential
Entrepreneurs and also announces its purposes as Motivation tool for the transformation of the
housewives into SMEs pioneers.
After the presentations referred, personal routes and decisions of Business women were on
board. Two of the business women participated in the research. Mrs Marianna Xyga & Mrs
Rodoula Gole shared their personal experience and the daily challenges but also the positive
reflections on starting up, either by their physical presence or through video-interviews in their
workplace.
In their words: "It makes you strong the same time you feel you collapse because of physical
strain" (Marianna)
"You learn to understand the needs of the clients, you communicate with them and try to make
them happy, and this is a great satisfaction despites the financial or other deficits, f.e. time,
personnel, etc" (Marianna)

The
audience
consisted
of
women
of
the
target
group
(housewives),
businesswomen/businnessmen, and educators that showed great interest on being informed
and participating actively in the planned activities of the program.
Of great interest were the discussions among the participants, especially concerning their role –
and the mere consideration of the term 'housewife' as appropriate or rather anachronistic,
defining properties that characterize the woman at home or as a role that ought to be shared
between the couple during cohabiting. The impressions around the selected entrepreneurs
(mentoring case studies-video material), where really eye-catching, considering their
contributions, via their approach, to create a positive atmosphere and creative/elaborative
energy.
The Business women who were present, emphatically highlighted important aspects of the
decision to start the business, such as:
-The importance of experience on the environment and subject of the potential entrepreneurial
plan
-How unemployment, itself, could be transformed into opportunity for evaluating and learning
the use of experience
-How to clarify the essence of "What do I want to do…"
-Defining “What can I provide in a competitive environment that could be considered as
different”
-The importance of customer’s psychology traits
-Provision of customized and customization services
-Understanding the concept of “group of reference”, that is whom I need to learn to listen,
communicate with and collaborate to solidify my product and my work as a whole
-The importance of partnerships
-Networking and openness
-The quality and love of the product/service (subject of entrepreneurship)
-The importance of continuous learning and change, in order to achieve a target

CONCLUSIONS
If we would like to give a general image of which were the impressions on MUPYME project, on
its first communicative appearance, we would be filled with acclaim. The partnership, by itself,
consisting by important organizations around EU, contributed to the understanding of the
materiality. The presentations of the selected personal journeys of women entrepreneurs was,
according to the participants’ own words, the strong pillar of the workshop, either given in
person or through video footage. If we could or should choose some of the words mentioned, to
continue by, these would be: “I want to! I can do it! I am going to march step by step into
achieving it!”

Evaluation of Seminar
The participants evaluated the Seminar as a whole of high satisfaction (Grade 5) .
They identified as strong element the Videos where Business Women were describing their own
routes in the context of their business. It was a light in their eyes, talking for their personal
decision despite the difficulties. And this was the reason who expressed the question: "How
often is possible to participate in such kind of seminars? I am interested to remain in contact and I
will inform my friends" (annex 3: the survey results)
