THE AMERICAN ^RTl-STS FUND
THE AMERICAN ARTISTS FUND of The American Artists ProfessI.Onal League,. Inc., has
recently been granted tax exempt status by the united states Treasury Department. As a result,
gifts to THE AMERICAN ARTISTS FUND are deductible by the donors for I.ncome tax purposes
as charitable and educational contrI.butt.OnS and, Siml.Iarly/ bequests are deductible for Esrdte
TcIX Purposes.
Such gifts and bequests, unless otherwise restricted, will be used for the primary purposes
for which THE AMERICAN ARTISTS FUND was created: to promote understanding and QPPreCiOtion of classical American Art through media such os the annual observance ofAmericanArtWeek,.
to create and mointoin scholarships for study in American Art,. to establish competitions and
exhibitions in American Art and to gI.Ve Prizes and awards therefor. In the event that any donor or
testator should so specifI'Cally direct, the gift or bequest can be restricted to use for the general
purposes of the fund within a specified geographical area - for example, within a particular state.
However, it should be pointed out that the Fund's purposes are notional in scope - e.g./ the
natI.OnWide Observance Of American Art Week - and that the record-keeping for small, speciallyrestricted gifts and bequests is onerous. on the other hand, unrestricted donations to the Fund
are allocated by its Directors for use in localities where they are most needed to accomplish the
Fundls nc]tional purposes.
Gifts and Bequests are always welc=me from those who enjoy our exhibitions or are sympathetic to our efforts. New funds clre needed tO SuStC]in Our Annual Exhibition which-has mcltericllly increcISed in COSt. To earn full tax deduction credits, please use the form below and make
check payable to I'THE AMERICAN ARTISTS FUND".
