night look during the daytime.
In the rhythm of a familiar folk
song, a child cannot resist
adding one more dab of paint
in surprising places.

Art for preschoolers includes providing things for
them to look at as well as art materials for them to
use. Talk to your child about shape, color and the
texture of things that the child experiences and
about what the child is doing as he uses art
materials”

Snow Painting
Materials:
• Food Coloring
• Squeeze bottles
(old shampoo and soap bottles
work well)
• Water
Directions:
SING TOGETHER!
1. Mix 20 drops of food coloring into
1 cup of water.
Can You Find the Color Red?
2. Pour mixture into a squeeze bottle.
Tune: “Do You Know the Muffin Man”
Can you find the color red?
The color red, the color red.
Can you find the color red
Somewhere in this room?
(Have kids point out things that are red.
Repeat with other colors.)
Action Song
Tune: “Head Shoulders, Knees and Toes…”
Red, yellow, green and blue, green
