Immediate efficiencies and
positive results seen with
WorkPlace Requisition.
Headquarters: Rock Springs, Wyoming
Industry: Hospital, Healthcare
Software: Workplace Requisition
Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County’s finance department had
faced a number of challenges in the past several years due to constant
software errors from their requisition solution. With the help of Paramount Technologies’ WorkPlace, the hospital was able to alleviate the
issues that they had faced with their previous solution.
Primary Needs
Prior to the installation of WorkPlace, in order to reduce costs and become more efficient, Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County
purchased a system that it believed would simplify its processes.
However, the system that had been put in place had a major general
ledger issue and pitted hospital staff with frequent system failures. They
had become extremely frustrated that they had a system installed where
they were unable to realize the benefits expected due to the high frequency of errors and interruptions in the workflow that could not be fixed
– they sought not only a change, but an improvement.

The Solution
After learning how it could be tailored to their specific business processes associated with requisitions and Binary Stream, the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County’s advisors elected to purchase and implement
WorkPlace. “We saw immediate, positive results once WorkPlace was
fully implemented; our staff has seen considerable improvements and
efficiencies,” said Teralee Aubrey, Director of Materials Management for
the hospital.
When making the switch to WorkPlace, Memorial Hospital of
Sweetwater County was initially concerned about how staff would react
to a new requisition product after the previous one had produced so

dramatically been reduced, which has proven to be a huge benefit for
the staff and vendors. “I have heard great feedback from end-users ...

Benefits
Since implementation, WorkPlace has helped to improve Memorial Hospital
of Sweetwater’s budgeting processes. In addition, Memorial Hospital has
seen a large decrease in data entry errors following the implementation
of WorkPlace. Due to all of their budget information becoming so readily
available with WorkPlace, decision making was improved – something
Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County’s management was able to realize
immediately. Now, the hospital’s processes boast complete visibility and
transparency with their spending and cost centers.
While requisitions were of priority for Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County,
the WorkPlace integration with Binary Stream has also been extremely
helpful for the staff. “Binary Stream is our main system for materials
management; the integration between the two solutions just adds to our
efficiency level,” Aubrey said.
“I appreciate the personal

Even with the aforementioned benefits, Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater
County continues to see the growing use of capabilities that WorkPlace offers.
When hospital management first purchased WorkPlace, they were unaware of
the ability to have an electronic approval process for non-stock items. Aubrey
commented she looks forward to the convenience the feature will offer them.
“I have been very pleased with the WorkPlace solution and the ease of use.
There is always a learning curve with something new, but I appreciate the
accuracy and stability of the system,” Aubrey said.
