VOL. LXXXVVIV, ISSUE 10
the
From the
Manager’s Desk
Another year has come
and gone as far as Club
leadership is concerned.
Four new Board members
will be elected at the 94th
Annual Stockholders’
meeting on November
17th. It has been a good
year under the presidency
of Tony Dyer. A lot was
accomplished from the new roof installation on
the Clubhouse, renovation of the Pub which
included a Pub deck, new windows around the
upper level of the building, as well as exterior
painting and repairs. This work was all achieved
with the help of our outgoing directors; House
Chair, Vincenzo Fressola; House Committee
member, Linda Blair; and Tennis Chair, Clayton
Hill. The old saying about “being in the right
place at the right time” was definitely true with
Vincenzo as chair of the House Committee during the roof project. Thank you, Vincenzo, and
thanks to all for your service to the Club.
Membership survey results for 2015 are included in this issue. Thank you to everyone who
took the time to respond as it is very helpful to
leadership and management as we plan for the
future. We read, study and analyze every single
response, rating and comment and each one is
taken seriously. All issues of concern are addressed with directors, committees and department heads determining how best to improve
Club operations to the satisfaction of the majority. We want to be the best we can be and hopefully, with your help, we will attain our goal. It
has always been our objective to improve upon
every aspect of Club operations for the benefit of
your Club experience.
As a former president told me a few years ago, I
in turn welcome Tony Dyer to the “Club of Past
Presidents.” Thanks for a job well done, Tony! I
have enjoyed working with you. Now it’s time to
pass the gavel to Dave Legenza as he steps into
the Club president’s office. Good luck, Dave,
and I look forward to the upcoming year.
Thanks again to Tony Dyer, Linda Blair, Clayton Hill and Vincenzo Fressola for jobs well
done.
Please remember the Stockholders’ meeting on
Tuesday, November 17th.
See you soon & often!
A Letter from the President
As we approach November, that means colder weather, the holiday season and
the Annual Stockholders’ meeting. It also means my term as a Board member
and my year as Club President will end. It has been a wonderful experience
where I have learned a lot and made many new friends. It’s been an honor and I
appreciate the general supportive nature and encouragement that I have received
from the membership. Thank you!
We all know that nothing is ever perfect, but for the most part I think it was
a pretty successful year. The Club is operating smoothly and we are running very close to budget. We
are close on budget in spite of a bad economy and corporate cutbacks where events were cancelled that
we count on each year. This has been accomplished primarily by our GM Stan Timberlake and all the
staff for watching our expenses and working to create new events to help keep us on budget. I do want
to thank Stan and all the staff for their commitment to our Club and making my job so much easier
this year. Thank you staff for an excellent job!
The 94th Annual Stockholders’ meeting will be held Tuesday, November 17, at which time four
nominees for the Board of Directors will be presented to the membership for approval to serve a threeyear term. Those directors completing their term along with myself are Linda Blair, Vincenzo Fressola
and Clayton Hill. I do want to personally thank them for their commitment and service to BCC. I’ve
enjoyed working with them. I also want to say thanks to all the Board members, the Committee Chairs
and those that serve on committees for your support and time you have put in to help make our Club
successful.
Again, thank you and it’s been a good year!
Eat, drink and play at Bellefonte Country Club - it does a body good!
Tony Dyer, President

November is a joyous time of the year for celebrating traditions with those who are most important in our lives. We
look forward to being a part of your traditions as we begin
to fill our reservation book for Thanksgiving and as Melissa
prepares for her busiest time of the year in the pastry area.
I have spoken with many of you regarding your Christmas plans. It has been a pleasure to meet some of you and to
reconnect with those of you I know. Even though the month
is busy, I have six open slots for parties. Please call soon so
that we can find the best time for your event.
We also have Wine & Dine scheduled for Friday,
November 13. The theme is Italian! Join us for a lovely end to a busy November week.
See you around the Clubhouse!

On the First Tee
Another golf season has quickly passed us by, and it will
not be long until Christmas. The Golf Shop Christmas Sale
will take place on Thursday, December 10, from 4:00-8:00
p.m. Enjoy the holiday food and drinks hosted by the Pro
Shop for everyone who attends.
There were two new golf events held in October and
both were successful. The Two-Man Sweepstakes was a
two-day event with 44 players participating. Congratulations to the team of Bill
Tilton and Tony Botting for finishing in first place in this new event. The Superintendent’s Revenge tournament had 70 players come out to participate in this challenging, fun event. The team of Mike Curnutte, Jeff Rollyson, and Will Wilhoit won
first place in the men’s division with a score of 60. The team of Candy Rollyson,
Beverly Shaffer, Laverne Cox and Becky Gehringer won first place in the ladies’
division with a score of 72. Thanks to all who participated, and we hope to see both
events on the schedule again for next season.
Lastly, congratulations to Al Gehringer and Ron Willenbrink for their holesin- one that they both made last month. If you see them around the Club, please
congratulate them on this accomplishment.
I also would like to remind everyone that store credit must be redeemed by
November 30. Thank you for your support in the Golf Pro Shop.
