SERVICE RECOGNITION
GuestNet Shout - Outs (Continued on page 8.)
Troy, on the beer cart, is the best. He somehow remembered my name from six months
ago, that’s impressive.
Vernon was great, not only did he clean the area around our machine but he helped me
out when I needed to return the wheelchair I was using. He was friendly and went out of
Casino Housekeeping: his way to make sure I had what I needed. He should be commended for giving such great
customer service and going above and beyond what customer service is. A big thank you
to him and Thomas, the Security officer, who helped me outside to my car.
Beverage Service:
Casino Housekeeping: Mellisa was so helpful and well informed.
Central Reservations:
Deb did a fantastic job.
took care of us for both breakfast and dinner. She was extremely helpful and
Grand Grill Americana: Cathy
actually remembered us from one day to the next.
There was a scheduling snafu with the group of women I went to the spa with. To make
a long story short, the spa supervisor, Nicole, was honest about scheduling issue.
She offered to step in herself to give a massage to someone, so as not to disrupt our
morning schedule. Not only was I impressed by her stepping into the massage room
on 20 minutes notice to help out, but she gave one of the best massages I have ever
Grand Harmony Spa:
had. I was thoroughly impressed. Another complement I would like to give is to the
massage therapist named Randi. Randi gave a massage to my mother, who has never
gotten a massage before. My mom felt nervous going into the appointment, but felt very
comfortable with Randi and was able to enjoy her entire hour massage. Please pass on
our thanks to Nicole and Randi.
Best. Massage. Ever. Jessica was amazing, and really seemed to care that I had a good
experience. I’ll definitely be back. I also loved the whole spa. The steam area, the
Grand Harmony Spa:
atmosphere, all very relaxing. I’m glad I convinced myself to splurge on a massage and
now I’ll probably get one every time I visit this casino.
Jody and Deb are wonderful. The inn has great staff including the lady who works over
Grand Hinckley Inn:
nights. I can’t recall her name.
Grand Hinckley Inn:
Amanda Nelson did an exceptional job at checkin.
Grand Rewards:
Marilyn is the nicest staff person at Grand Rewards.
My host, Brian, made the reservation and also checked us in and gave us the keys, very
Host Reservation:
Nice!!!
Jon was great on getting us set up for a room. We walked in at 10 pm and were in our
Host Reservation:
room by 10:45 pm. That is the fastest check in with great service I’ve had in a long time.
Thanks.
Jacklyn went above and beyond. We were very impressed with the treatment she gave
Hotel Front Desk:
us!!! An excellent performance at the establishment.
Jacqueline was very helpful. She also said she was sorry that I wasn’t informed about the
Hotel Front Desk:
pool and she did offer an alternative.
Hotel Front Desk:
Jaclyn was extremely nice and friendly, above and beyond my expectations.
Valerie was very accommodating to our needs and questions upon check in. She helped
Hotel Front Desk:
us get adjoining rooms and was patient during all of our questions.
Hotel Front Desk:
Kimberly was very efficient and friendly!
Hotel Front Desk:
Brenda was very friendly and efficient. Nice lady.
Hotel Front Desk:
Jennifer was excellent.
Kimberly is one outstanding front desk person! Kudos to her. She puts a capital “C” in
Hotel Front Desk:
customer service.
Jamie really tried to honor our room requests but was unable to do so. It was 4 pm when
Hotel Front Desk:
we checked in and our room wasn’t ready. He expedited it. He was very nice.
Poker:
Terry was excellent.

Shuttle Service:
Very friendly drivers - Jerry, Sue, Sharon, and Edward.
Shuttle Service:
Edward, the driver, was great!

LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT
these qualities into your own character, so that behaving in
When No One is Looking
these ways becomes second nature?
How would you describe your own character? What do we
mean when we use that particular word? Today, let's talk
briefly about "character."
If someone was described to you as having a fine character,
would you know what that meant? There is a good chance
that you would. You would probably understand that the
subject was moral or ethical strength - what some people
call integrity.
Character could be defined as, "who you are when no one
is looking." As you think about these things, remember
that there is a great deal of information available to help
you. Search your local online bookseller and you will find
hundreds of thousands of philosophy titles. Libraries of all
kinds have whole sections devoted to philosophy.
And if you look deep enough, you will find a wealth of
information inside you.
But how do you know when someone - even yourself has good character? Well, for one thing, you can see the
evidence. Character is revealed in our actions, in the values
that we live by. It begins building in early life, in our family.
If we are loved and accepted, if we are consistently treated
with respect, we grow up free from the burden of trying
to prove our worth, free to develop integrity of character.
Schools, churches and workplaces can help build character
too - positively or negatively.
Some folks believe that people also shape their own
character. If you would like to do this in a more conscious
way, you can start by asking yourself: "What are some
qualities I value?" Do they include honesty, compassion,
discipline, perseverance, kindness, courage, forgiveness,
and enthusiasm? There are others you will think of, as well.
Now, what are some actions you could take which would
demonstrate those qualities? What could you do to build
