Options
• The New Zealand example is fine for countries
that allow such freedom of data export
• Some countries have strict restrictions on Data
Export but at the same time what to encourage
investment.
• Need to visit country to “view” data but not take
away copies – Obvious overheads to do this for the
potential investors

Solution – Remote data access to “view”
only
 What If ?
 You had a Portal Access from anywhere in the world to
allow viewing of Data from a NDR?
 Ability to view images on screen but not to have access
to the data
 Or even
 You could access technical applications from anywhere
and virtually work on the data without the data ever
leaving the country
 You reduced your need to travel to multiple sites.

Thin Client Technology is opening up
significant opportunities
 Currently requires approx. 2 – 5 MB Internet Lease lines
to the ISP to obtain acceptable performance – This is
not possible in some places
 Within the near future with advances in Gaming
Technology and compression applications this could be
reduced to 256K with is achievable in many countries.
