Constructed around a core layer of high density
fiberboard (HDF), finished with a top layer of highly
decorative paper print and hard wearing melamine
surface. Laminate flooring has continued to have

The Construction of an
Laminate Floor
LAMINATE
LAMINATE
The construction of a laminated floor is based around a core layer
of high density fibreboard (HDF), finished with a top layer of highly
decorative paper print or a natural wood veneer finished with a hard
wearing carborundum melamine surface.
What makes a good laminate floor is the quality of the core and the
quality of the click system it fits together with. Cheaper core boards
will quickly take up moisture causing boards to swell and joints to
open up. Poor quality fitting at the joints and the boards open up
allowing dirt
to get in.
All our laminate flooring ranges are made to the highest standards
with some of the longest manufacturer domestic and commercial
warranties on the market today.

The construction of Engineered Flooring is made with a real wood
decorative/wear surface layer, providing all the visual qualities of
wood, with the added benefit of a ready to finish or full finished
surface for a instant and distinctive flooring solution. Manufactured in
some of the world’s most up to date flooring factories using the latest
technology quality is not compromised. Choose from a traditional
fitting T&G joint or the non-glue click system. To be called a true
Parkett floor the wear layer must be no less than 2.5mm and you
will see that all products in our range achieve this. The type of core
material chosen again ensures board stability and performance.

Only sourced from well managed plantations or forests we pride
ourselves in ensuring our solid wooden floor range is only produced

Solid timber sections are machined and profiled using state of the
art technology to provide our wooden flooring range with precision
fitting joints. Available in a traditional tongue and grooved format
or in some instances a click lock system the boards are then end
matched to reduce wastage and improve joint performance.

us to provide a wide range of natural and UV oil surface finishes.

Choosing Your Underlay
Laminate & Engineered flooring is usually floated
over an underlay. We have a large range of underlay
products than can deliver many different results. If you
have specific needs please talk to an advisor in branch.
Most underlays that are designed for ground floor
usage contain a moisture barrier that will only assist in
protecting the floor from residual moisture when the
concrete subfloor is 3% of less. An underlay or moisture
barrier will NOT cover up an inherent moisture problem
that should have been addressed prior to installation.
Underfloor Heating
The maximum allowed contact temperature is 27°C and
by adding loose carpets/rugs this will insulate the floor.
We can only recommend that embedded water based
systems are used. Each product page will advise you on
whether your chosen product is suitable for use with
UFH.

unacceptable and should be levelled using a levelling
compound. Your local Company Name brand will be

is extremely handy to give your floor
and stairs that perfect finish. You can
use one and the same profile for all
finishing situations. Simply cut the basic
Incizo profile to the shape required
using the supplied slitter. No matter
which Quick-Step floor you like, there’s
always an Incizo profile in a perfectly
matching colour. With the supplied
slitter you can easily turn the Incizo
profile into the profile you need to give
your floor or stairs that perfect finish.
Spare pieces can be used for other
purposes.
The Quick-Step Incizo profile is
designed to last: it’s strong and
extremely scratch-resistant. If using the
Incizo as a Stair Nosing please note that
an Aluminum Base Plate needs to be
used in conjunction with this.
