Beginning at 8 a.m.
The Tour de Frankenmuth brings over 400 participants
into Frankenmuth along with several hundreds of fans
and is the largest race in Michigan the last 3 years. Just
like the major races across Europe and U.S., the Tour de
Frankenmuth promises plenty of cycling excitement.
Racers have several distance choices ranging from a fourlap 80 mile event down to a one lap 20 mile course. The
race course is a 20 mile loop. Racers compete for a prize
purse of $4,000.

What is Gran Fondo?
“Gran Fondo” means “Big Ride” in Italian. They are long
distance, mass-participation cycling events-not races-that
have become immensely popular in Europe. Participation
is open to recreational and competitive amateur cyclists.
Participants begin their trip in Frankenmuth and can go
to Akron, or as far as Cass City and Ubly or complete trip
with return to Frankenmuth. Participants receive a
complimentary chicken lunch.
TDF Offers Riding for Everyone:
40 mile, Frankenmuth first rest stop, then return
65 mile, Frankenmuth to Akron then return
90 mile, Frankenmuth to Akron, to Cass City and then
return
130 mile, Frankenmuth to Akron to Ubly then return

Packet pick-up Friday night will be at Zehnder’s Training Center
6:00-9:00 pm. Also packet pick-up Saturday am beginning at
6:30 am at same location. No race day registration. You can
register online until Thursday May 21st at 11:59 pm.
Registration increases by $10.00 after May 18th.

The Gran Fondo rides all start at Zehnder’s Park which is at
730 S. Main Street, Frankenmuth, MI, 48734. However, if you
want to start your ride at one of the first two rest stops, you
may. However, you must first pick up your bib number at the
registration table in Frankenmuth. If desired, you can pick up
your bib number Friday night or Saturday. You can choose your
preferred starting point but that means you have to drive to
get there and back. There is no parking available at the third
rest stop.
