This Sunday, we will listen in as
Paul shares God's perspective
with Timothy regarding money

contentment is not something
we find, it's something we learn.

God's generosity toward His
church is demonstrated in His
free gift of salvation (the
Gospel). Our generosity, more
specifically, our view of money
should be seen through the lens
of the Gospel. Find out why the
communion stations and the
offering baskets sit next to each
other in the Threshold worship
gathering this Sunday as Pastor
Thor continues the series
“What's the Point of Church?”

YOUTH GROUP:
We are kicking off our summer
programs for APEX and Chaos. I
know you can't wait for all the fun
to start! So mark your calendars
and get ready to have fun.
STUDENT MINISTRY
UPDATES:
APEX and Chaos on Facebook!!!
Be sure to check out both our
Student Ministries’ website (just
click on the student link at
canyonlakechurch.org) or our
Facebook fan pages (either APEX
or Chaos) for information on our
youth groups, events, fun things,
and pictures.
SUNDAY MORNINGS:
APEX (HS) in the Morning!!!
It is becoming increasingly harder
to explain and stand strong in our
faith in the world we live in. Join us
in the upper room of the chapel
at 8:30 a.m. every Sunday
morning where we are going
through the “Truth Project” for
students. We are taking a hard
look at our faith and how there
are REASONS for what we
believe, as well as looking at what
other world views say and how
we can think critically about
them.
CHAOS (MS) Sunday School
will be meeting in Room A20
(upstairs in the chapel) at 9:30
a.m.
Summer Curriculum:
“Anyone who listens to the word
but does not do what it says is like
a man who looks at his face in a
mirror and, after looking at
himself, goes away and
immediately forgets what he
looks like.” ( James 1:23-24)
“Smoke and Mirrors” - a
metaphor for intending to
deceive those around you. We
are going to look at the book of
JAMES this summer in an effort to
learn what it means to daily follow
Christ. Because in the end, when
all is said and done, we don't
want to be seen as a Smoke and
Mirrors act.
Are you looking for great
teaching, meaningful
relationships, and lots of fun?
Join Sojourners on Sunday at
9:30 a.m. in the Choir Room.
This week, Dave Lensner will be
teaching Angelic Hierarchy,
Seraphim and Cherubim.
Our class motto is "Faith,
Fellowship, Fun and Food." You
will experience all four in
Sojourners.
Our next social will be an Fourth
of July Picnic in the Park and
Fireworks Show at Wheat Field in
Menifee on June 30 at 6:00 p.m.
For more information, contact
Cheryl (301-5374).
Be sure to watch your mailbox for
the calendar. It has important
summer information and the
dates for all the fun we are going
to have.

Celebrate Recovery
Canyon Lake
Though it is sometimes difficult for us to admit, we have
all lived less than perfect lives. Our good intentions may
have escaped us, which has led us to hurt other people or
ourselves and we are left feeling that we have failed, yet
again. Our past failures and destructive behaviors leave us
trapped and deny us the happiness and contentment of life
that God desires for us. This leaves us with feelings of fear,
inadequacies, and the acceptance that there is no hope.
There is hope! Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered,
biblically based recovery program for individuals and
their families who are dealing with these issues.
Lori, Ministry Leader from Celebrate Recovery @
Crossroads Church in Corona, will be sharing her
personal testimony of her journey on her road to
recovery and healing from her past and present hurts.
Did you know that CR is a place to work on ANY type of hurt,
habit or hang-up?
Sometimes when we hear the word “recovery” we think of
addiction issues. Well, CR is for anyone! Do you struggle with
people pleasing, anger, looking at “questionable” internet sites,
unforgiveness, control issues ... just to name a few. Why do you
think some people turn to these coping strategies? It’s because
they haven’t dealt with the issues in their lives that keep them
stuck ... stuck in bondage, instead of free to give God your best
self. We can’t give God our best if we’re controlling others, not
forgiving people who have hurt us, looking at distracting things
on the internet, over medicating ourselves, etc.
Celebrate Recovery is a SAFE place to work through the issues
that keep us stuck. Anonymity and confidentiality is strictly
enforced. We are there to love and support you through
whatever you are struggling with! Give CR a try ... we promise
you’ll be welcomed here!
