Founded in 1912 by Florence Fleming
Noyes, Noyes School of Rhythm has
continued to thrive at our summer
retreat in the woods of Portland,
Connecticut since 1919. A truly unique
place, Noyes School of Rhythm has
proven to bring vitality, joy, and peace
of mind through dance to women for
several generations. Women return
year after year to this supportive
community for rejuvenation and
inspiration that helps carry them during
the year. In its renaissance, Noyes
School of Rhythm continues to grow
through our Satellite programs,
allowing us further opportunities for
creative nurturance through conscious
movement. We are so happy to invite
you to our first Noyes Florida!
Noyes Rhythm is an imaginative and
gentle movement system that can
reduce stress, tension and the feeling
of exhaustion and sadness. It helps one develop alignment awareness,
flexibility and core strength. The classes are designed to help us “shed”
our worries of the day and feelings of selfconsciousness. Noyes
Rhythm teachers invite improvisatory movement and subtle technique
through narrative and imagery from nature as a way to connect one to
the “rhythms” of life. This simple approach to vitality and joy is for any
person young or old, professional or not, and at the same time a journey
of a lifetime.
We invite you to embark on your journey with us for this celebratory
occasion. Bring your leotard and your smile and we will provide the rest!
