Jo Caimo is a visual artist, musician, radio maker, and inventor of superfluous objects and instruments. His work situates itself in the margin between performance, music, installation and the
digital world. In many works he tries to define a border of a medium (or object) or a border of
our senses. This can go from a website with the recordings of the sound of every position of a
metronome (to create your own metronome symphony online) towards the ‘unstable’ live performance of swallowing a bluetooth-microphone (to record the audio of his whole digestive system,
to which you are invited to call), or by putting the sun live on the internet (for rainy days, some
placebo Vitamin D).

Ultimate idea to swallow the bluetooth and make a connection with an IPhone which I will wear in my
pocket. The audience could call the InnerRhythms by using their phone or by using Skype. I would have
an ordinary day but in the meantime it will be an ongoing performance.

Every other week ( at sunday from 15u till 16u30, programme: Aroom) I organized this event on Radio Centraal,
where having subconscious improvisations in different spaces is one of the topics. The picture above is a conferencecall at a website where I invite people to join the event. The sound of all the streams from people who are connected
is hearable trough a laptop which is live broadcasted at Radio Centraal.

Performance of me sitting in a vitrine with a computer and Skype and Max sitting at
the radiostudio, the sound was heard in the street through the radios of neighbours,
who were willing to tune in to Radio Centraal.

This installation with 6 monitors serves as a display of the fall. Each monitor is linked with one webcam view, and all 6 of
the webcams register the fall. The separate monitors are linked to a computer, which loops the footage of each webcam.

The Megaphone-ENSEMBLE is a contemporary fanfare, variable in amount of players, location and context. Each player
remotely improvises/ communicates with the others via two-way radios, the space occupied by megaphones changes over
time. The sound can be transported by moving around freely in the space by all the participants. This will resonate with the
space where each visitor will have a different perception, depending on the place where they are.
