Dear Friends,
It is my pleasure to extend a warm welcome to all the contestants, families, and friends gathered
here this evening for the 2013 Miss Westchester and Miss Hudson Valley Pageants. The amount
of perseverance and talent that all of the contestants possess makes each one of them perfect fits
to represent Westchester.
This growing pageant, now in its 4th year, provides a platform for the excellent young women in
Westchester to shine. The pageant helps to encourage volunteerism, active participation in the
community and helps young women obtain their dreams. I am wholeheartedly proud of every
contestant for their commitment and I wish them all the best of luck.
I would also like to express my deepest gratitude to the volunteers and organizers who allow this
tradition to grow. Without all of you, none of this would be possible.
Finally, it is my distinct honor to congratulate all of the contestants on an outstanding
achievement. On behalf of the residents of Westchester County, we wish you the best of luck in
this competition and in all of your future endeavors.

Welcome!
It is with great pleasure that we welcome you once again to our fabulous Host City, White Plains, for the 4th
Annual Miss Westchester & Miss Hudson Valley Pageants! The young women gracing this stage tonight come
from all around Westchester County and the Hudson Valley Region. Each contestant is unique and beautiful both
inside and out! We’ve enjoyed getting to know each of them as they prepared for tonight’s competition.
Thank you to the contestants’ families and friends who have supported these young women physically,
emotionally, and financially -- it is impossible to come this far alone.
We could not have put on this show without lots of help from our wonderful volunteers, our distinguished judges
and auditors and our very generous sponsors -- we truly appreciate all you have done and continue to do!
A special shout out to New Image Laser & Med Spa -- Dr. Artuso, Marina and your amazing team -- all of you have
helped to make this season truly special for this year’s contestants!

CHRISTINA DELEON of Yorktown Heights was the first Miss titleholder for
the Miss Westchester & Hudson Valley Pageants, winning the crown as Miss
Westchester 2011! She is the director of a private preschool and recently
graduated with honors from Mercy College with her Master’s degree in Early
Childhood Education. Christina has begun taping the second season of the
award-winning local cable talk show, “Smart. Beautiful. You!,” where she
is both the Host and Associate Producer. Her royal guests have included
Lisa Druillard, Miss New York Teen USA 2011; Amber Collins, Miss New
York USA 2011; Sabrina Mastrangelo, Miss New York Teen USA 2012;
Alexandra Palmer, New York’s Perfect Miss 2012; Micaela Bishop, Miss
Teen New York International 2012; Adele Scala, Miss New York International
2012; Leah Bartos, Mrs. New York America 2012. Other standout guests
have included Kandice Pelletier, Kandice Pelletier Swimwear; Steven Roddy,
ThePageantPlanet.com; Lu Celania Sierra, Runway Coach; Jenna Edwards,
Health Coach. Christina considers the Miss Westchester & Miss Hudson
Valley Pageants family as her family and has continued to be involved with
the organization from choreographing and coaching to making appearances
at events for contestants. She has just returned from a month in Paris and
she is looking forward to seeing what the future holds!
CHRIS SALTALAMACCHIO is the owner and operator of Pageantry By Chris, a
full service pageant preparation and production company. His clients currently
include four young women who will be competing for the job of Miss America
in September. Born and raised on Long Island, Chris returned to New York
last fall after moving up and down the east coast since 2003. A former
elementary school teacher in Maryland, Chris has enjoyed a lifelong career as
a stage performer and recently returned to the stage starring in Dirty Rotten
Scoundrels on Long Island. Chris is the official host of the Miss Teen America
and International Junior Miss Pageants, and has hosted events in locations
across the country including Florida, Oregon, and Tennessee, as well as being
a featured vocalist at the last two Miss Missouri pageants. Chris has held
male pageant titles on the local, state, and national levels and has lent his
expertise to the world of television, appearing as a coach and stylist on MTV’s
MADE and Oxygen’s Jersey Couture. In his spare time Chris supports a variety
of non-profit organizations and in 2010 was a nominee for the Leukemia and
Lymphoma Society’s Man of the Year Award. For more information please

Judges
MARINA BONCI
Marina, the CEO/VP of New Image Laser and Med Spa, comes with 20 years of experience in Management
as well as Marketing and Public Relations. A Cosmetologist by trade, she has worked in the laser field for
the past 4 years. Marina hosted a weekly radio show on WGCH 1490 AM talk radio on Laser and Skin Care,
is an interview host and reporter for WIZICAST, LLC Productions, and has worked with QVC and ShopNBC
with laser skin care products. Marina is very involved in her community as well as charity events including
the American Cancer Society, Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer, Making Strides Against Breast
Cancer Walks (Team Captain), Gilda’s Club Westchester, Autistic Foundation of Westchester and Multiple
Sclerosis Foundation. Marina is a member of National Association of Professional Women, The Eastchester
Chamber of Commerce, and the Scarsdale Woman’s Club as well as an Alumni of Vocational Industrial
Clubs of America. Marina is also a NYS-certified Laser Technician, specializing in not only laser hair removal,
but also Smooth Shapes cellulite reduction and Laser tattoo removal.
CHRISTOPHER J. GULOTTA
Christopher is the founder of the Gulotta Law Group, Paradigm Title Agency and Real Estate Data
Shield. He is graduate of Fordham University School of Law and has served as a Continuing Legal
Education Faculty Member at Fordham Law School, Pace Law School; The Association of the Bar of
the City of New York and the New York State Bar Association. Chris has been a Featured Columnist
for several publications including The Title Report, The Legal Description, Valuation Review, The New
York Law Journal and The National Law Journal. Chris is a Cum Laude graduate of Fordham University.
Chris has served on the Boards of Directors for the New York Association of Mortgage Brokers, the
Community Fund, Eastchester Volunteer Ambulance Corp. He is involved in local community charities
and activities such as coaching Travel Team Soccer and serving as League Commissioner for the
Eastchester Youth Soccer Association (EYSA). Chris received the EYSA “Man of the Year” award as
well as the Westchester Youth Soccer League’s “Double Goal Award” for Sportsmanship.
JILLIAN HASSETT
Jillian, a long with Laura Hearn, is the co-director of the Print/Commercial Department at Prestige
Management Group. Prestige Management Group (PMG) is a full service management company
representing talent of all ages and types for television, film, theater, commercials, and print. Most
recently, Prestige’s talent has been featured in print and commercial campaigns for products such
as David’s Bridal Prom Collection, White House Black Market, Carnival Cruise Lines, Diesel, Pinnacle
Vodka, Acuvue, and Samsung. Ms. Hassett holds a BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, and she
accumulated several acting and stage managing credits in NYC before working in talent representation.
In more recent years, she has dabbled in playwrighting and even had the honor of being featured in Pan
Asian Repertory Theater’s NewWorks 2011 showcase. She feels incredibly lucky to have had so many
opportunities to explore and nourish her passion for the arts. However, she finds the most joy in her
career as a talent rep, because she loves helping others pursue their dreams.
SHARON MOSLEY
Sharon is a ifelong Westchester resident, is the host and independent community television producer
of “As You Are,” a talk show currently airing on LMC-TV. “As You Are” explores the needs and successes
of individuals in our community who live with challenges. With the help of dedicated volunteers, she
has produced over 40 “As You Are” programs since the show’s inception in 2004. Sharon won First
Place for her show at the 2010 Alliance for Community Media-Northeast Annual Video Festival. The
show won again in 2011 for the LMC-TV Best Series category. Annually, Sharon returns to Iona College,
her Alma mater, as guest speaker in the Mass Communications Department to encourage students
to seek alternative voices in media. Most recently, she helped develop the Mamaroneck Larchmont
Human Rights Committee’s First Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Short Film Festival and Panel Discussion.
Presently, Sharon is Office Manager for Larchmont Mamaroneck Community Television with a background
in Event Promotions, Brand Sponsorship and Purchasing.

JESUS ESTRADA
Jesus Estrada is taking the fashion world by storm. As the designer behind the Marteal & Estrada empire,
Jesus is ready to inspire the industry with his edgy, trend-setting style. From the coast of California to
the sky scrapers of New York, the 25 year-old twin designer is living his dream and creating glamorous
styles with one-of-a-kind ready-to-wear designs, inspiring people all over the nation. Born in Mazatlan,
Sinaloa, Mexico, Jesus was raised in San Diego where he branded his name, taking fashion to another
level. Earning a degree in Fashion Design, Jesus introduced himself by trademarking his inspirational style
and launching his breakthrough brand, Haus of Estrada. After invigorating shows and the opportunity to
compete on the seventh season of “Project Runway,” Jesus has been living his dream as a designer. He
continues to inspire other young designers to always follow their dreams and never give up.
AL GROCCIA - Judges Coordinator
A lifelong resident of Westchester. Al grew up in Eastchester, NY and attended New York City College of
Technology and Penn State University for the Pupil Transportation Supervisor program. A transportation
industry veteran, Al was Vice-President of a large school bus transportation company for twenty-five
years in Lower Westchester. An active member of his community, he spent ten years coaching girls
youth travel soccer for Eastchester Youth Soccer. Now retired, Al volunteers his time helping start-up
bus companies and managing a start-up online book business, in addition to shuttling his youngest
daughter to various casting calls and photo shoots. He has been married twenty-two years to his wife,
Vivian, and has four children: two daughters, Adrienne (Cornell ’15) and Jacqueline (Eastchester High
School ‘14) and two sons, Nova and Michael.

CRAIG DEGENER
Craig has been a Westchester resident all of his life. He received his B.A. in Economics at The College
of Wooster and his M.B.A. degree with Honors in Financial Management at the Lubin School of
Business, Pace University.After working as an intern in the Finance Department at the American Stock
Exchange during graduate school, Craig entered the investment business as a Financial Advisor with
Kidder Peabody & Co. He has been in the investment business ever since (30+ years) working with A.G.
Edwards & Sons, Inc., Wachovia Securities and, currently, Wells Fargo Advisors. He is married to Ruth
Ann and they have two children: Craig, Jr. (21) and Kristy (18). They reside in Dobbs Ferry where they
have lived for 25 years.
MARY-LYNN GALASSO-LUZZI
Mary-Lynn has been a Westchester resident most of her life. She received her B.A. from The Hagan
School of Business at Iona College with a major in Accounting and a minor in Management Information
Systems. After working at IBM for nearly a decade, Mary-Lynn took the position of full-time mom. In
2001, she earned her Masters of Science in Teaching at Iona College and has been working as a
middle school math teacher in Rye for the past 11 years. Under her leadership, the school’s St. Jude’s
Math-a-thon has raised over $130,000 and last year the school was recognized as one of the Top 20
schools in the U.S. for fundraising. Mary-Lynn currently resides in Larchmont where she grew up and
is the mother of 3 children: Christopher (24), Daniel (21), and Nicole (20).

Special Awards
There are six additional awards presented in the Miss Westchester & Miss Hudson Valley
Pageants: Congeniality, Photogenic, Style, Spirit, Service and People’s Choice. Each award
has its own judges and judging criteria and is completely separate from and has no bearing
on the pageants’ scoring or outcomes. All contestants are eligible for these awards.
CONGENIALITY
The recipient of this award is the contestant who is judged by her peers to be the most congenial, charismatic
and inspirational pageant participant.
PHOTOGENIC
Contestants’ headshots are judged by members of the media for their photogenic appeal, beauty, warmth and
personality projection.
STYLE
Members of the media judge contestants on their personal style, fashion sense and pageant modeling ability.
SPIRIT
This award is given by the Miss Westchester & Miss Hudson Valley Pageants staff to the contestant who best
represents all that is good in pageantry: sportsmanship, teamwork, time management, dedication, respect
and compassion.
SERVICE
The Executive Directors of the Miss Westchester & Miss Hudson Valley Pageants select the contestant who
not only understands her platform issue but also shows evidence of her service to others.
PEOPLE’S CHOICE
This award is given to the contestant with the most votes from the general public. Voting takes place in the
weeks before the pageants and contestants are encouraged to campaign for this honor. Each vote costs $1 and
all funds raised for this award go to a 501(c)3 charity. This year’s beneficiary of the People’s Choice fundraiser is
“Reverse the Course Foundation.”
Reverse the Course Foundation was launched four years ago by an entrepreneurial Westchester girl, now 16
years old, who sought to make a difference by building a sustainable charity. Reverse the Course provides tuition,
boarding, uniforms and textbooks for girls primarily in Africa who are living in extreme poverty and are at risk of
early marriage. This funding makes a significant, positive impact on the lives of the girls, their families and their
