REACHING NEW PEOPLE
WORKSHOP
Have you ever wished that someone could
teach you better ways to connect with new
people in the community? Have you ever
wondered what you could do to connect
people with Jesus Christ?
RED CROSS DINNER
Thursday, June 11 serve at 5:30pm Save this date: Sunday, Sept. 27,
We will need everyone to help prepare and serve!
Please contact Loretta Hyslop at 223-7137
or email at [email protected]
This is the annual awards & recognition dinner of
the local chapter of the American Red Cross,
which serves many area counties.
The event is hosted by the UMW every year.
We will need servers to carry plates to tables

drink waiters and clean up help/dish washers.
6 pm - 8:30 pm at Vermont Street UMC.
Rev. Mike Crawford (Coordinator for
Congregational Development) will be
leading a workshop called “Reaching New
People”, and he will help us find answers to
these questions. It’s a free workshop, one
that’s appropriate for youth to attend, and
one that’s significant for adults of all ages to
attend. We’ll discover that oftentimes,
reaching new people is (in big part) a matter
of changing our attitudes about and reasons
for what we do in life. More info will be
available in coming months, but for now,
SAVE THE DATE!!!

Even if you can’t make it to the church, you are
encouraged to pray for new people. Pastor Johansen
has some prayer points to help you pray, if you are so
inclined. If you come to the chapel, you’ll find this
to be a time for personal prayer, as people unite their
hearts and minds on this focus.
The people of our district (LaMoine River District) are
asked to be in prayer for Annual Conference on
Wednesday, June 10 in the afternoon, during the time
of the Clergy Session and the Laity Session. Voting for
delegates to General and Jurisdictional Conferences in
2016 will be conducted at these sessions, and
your participation in bathing this time in prayer
would be appreciated.

our series on the "Me I Want To Be" and we
will begin a new series entitled "Am I
Happy?" by Sean McDowell.
"Students have more access to
entertainment, education, social networking
and material "stuff" than ever before,
yet they often feel confused and empty.
In this series, students share the trials and
struggles they face in their search for
happiness. Sean McDowell offers Biblical
insight into the fleeting nature of happiness
