Easter Hat Parade

Movie Day
Unfortunately Mrs Wrightson has been ill this week and she is now attending the
Primary Principal’s Conference. She has been kept up to date with all our news
and wants to congratulate all students for their efforts at the Cross County
Carnival. A big thank you to all the parents and grandparents who came out to
support the runners and enjoy the sunshine. It was certainly a busy day with
Speers Point and Argenton Public School students sharing the day with us. We
would like to remind parents that payment is due for the Dance Fitness classes
that begin in Week 1 of next term. Please come and speak to Mrs Wrightson if
you need to pay off the last instalment in the first week back. Next Thursday will
be our Easter Hat Parade. Children and parents will make their hats at home and
parade them at 10.15pm. Everyone is invited to come and join in the fun. The
students have been practicing some new songs and will share some of the work
they have been doing leading up to Easter. The P&C will be serving Easter Buns
and Icecream as a special treat and order forms for these will be sent home
shortly. An extra bonus for this term will be our Movie Day to see “The Lego
Movie” on Friday 11th April. All blue permission notes and payment need to be
back at school as soon as possible so we can arrange a cheque payment to the
cinema. No snacks will be taken on this visit as the students will have recess just
before they go and lunch when they return. Students have been constructing all
sorts of interesting things in their Friday groups and LEGO is a great example of
construction and design that has been around for many years.

Next term the school will be having an exciting return visit from Lori and her guide
dog Kinta on Wednesday 30th April which is World Guide Dog Day. The students
and staff found her truly inspirational on her last visit. She shared a lot about her
life with blindness and amazed us all with her positive attitude. We invite parents
and community members to join us on the day. More information will be provided

Easter Raffle Donations
Each year our Easter Raffle raises a very
healthy amount of money that goes toward
educational resources. We ask parents to
consider donating Easter appropriate goods
for our prizes such as Easter Eggs, baskets …
be creative! Our P&C will administer the
raffles. Kristy has been away on holidays but
we really need to get those donations in as
soon as possible. THANK YOU EVERYONE
Dance Fitness
Please return your blue note about Dance
Fitness if you haven’t done so. Parents need
to finalise paying off the $40 per student cost
this term as all money must be paid before the
sessions start in Term 2. Just send in an
envelope to the office marked Dance Fitness
with your child’s name.
Student Banking
Jess Blakely has kindly agreed to run the
Commonwealth Student Banking again this
year. This will commence in Term 2 and we
will advise which day of the week will be
banking day in our Newsletter in Week 10.
Please complete the Expression of Interest for
Banking at the end of this newsletter if you
wish your child to bank. All students will need
a Commonwealth Bank savings account.
There are great prize incentives for regular
bankers to help encourage our young people
to save.
Assembly
This Friday we will hand out awards from the
Small Schools Swimming Carnival as well as
the Cross Country. Any interested parents are
welcome to attend.
Easter Hat Parade
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the
Easter Hat Parade. It will be held at 10.15 on
Thursday 10th April. The P&C will run the
raffle and there will be Hot Cross Buns and
Boolaroo Small School Big Heart
Icecream as a special treat. Order forms and
information will be provided soon
Movie Day
To finish off the term all students are invited to
the Lego Movie at Lake Cinema at Boolaroo.
Students will be walking to the cinema and a
permission note was sent home with the last
newsletter. Cost is $6 per student.
Cross Country
Well done to all students for their running
efforts this week. It was quite a warm day but
many of the students showed great resilience
and persistence to keep going despite the heat
and their exhaustion! It was great to share the
day with Argenton and Speers Point Public
Schools.
Congratulations
to
those
students
who will be represent our school at the Zone
Cross Country. This will be held on the first
Friday of Week 1 Term 2. (2/5/13 at
Rathmines) Students will be advised next
week and a note will be sent home shortly
about this event.
Anzac Day
As in previous years, Boolaroo Public School
will be represented at the dawn service on
Anzac Day. There will be more information
about the day but it is hoped that the Captains
will lay a wreath and some of the other
students will brave the early morning to
respresent our school in the march to the
Speers Point Cenotaph.
3 Peas Market
Don’t forget the public markets held in our
school grounds on 13th April. The P&C will be
serving food from the canteen that day and
various stall holders will have their wares for
sale. The P&C will be raising money for our
school and the school is paid a fee for the
markets to be held here. So why not come
along and enjoy this new experience?

CROSS COUNTRY CARNIVAL

Year 3 are learning to write persuasive text. They had to put forward their point
