The Rio School Board hosted an initial meeting of four
neighboring school boards on September 28. The purpose of
the meeting was to begin to explore ways each district could
maintain its own unique, individual district while finding ways to
share some services and cut expenses.
The three Boards joining Rio in this effort are Pardeeville,
Fall River and Cambria-Friesland.
Agenda items included:
transportation, classes, sports co-ops, supply purchasing,
school calendars, and an employee health insurance co-op.
The superintendents of the four districts will be meeting monthly
to continue exploring these topics with the combined Boards
meeting four times a year. Other possible areas of economies
may be considered as the discussions proceed. The combined
Board meetings will be open to the public and posted in the
Shopper. Your input, questions and ideas are welcomed!

MEET ErnIE by Colleen Tisil. He has been our family dog since he was
10 weeks old. We were told Ernie is part Shar Pei and part Border Collie.
He is very protective of his family and his yard. He is supper smart! Ernie
fetches the paper for Grandma every morning. He can also sit, give a high
five, and lay down. His eyes are so intense that it looks like your talking to a
human as he absorbs every word you say to him. Ernie will be 6 in January.

MEET LEVI by Donna McKamey. Levi is 18 months old and very
energetic. Could be because he's an Italian Greyhound and Min Pin.
We got him at 3 months from neighbors that changed their minds about
him. He's so lovable especially when he's ready to sleep! Keeps us
moving for sure!

Understanding Joint Discomfort
(NAPSA)—For the millions of
Americans who suffer from joint
discomfort, knowing a few facts
could be very comforting.
Why Joints Hurt
Joints are the junction between
two or more bones. When you do
even the simplest of everyday
activities, there is tremendous
pressure on your joints. A protective cartilage cushion and joint
fluid work together like a shock
absorber to allow for proper joint
flexibility and movement.
Sometimes, however, the cartilage breaks down. This can be due
to:
•Age
•Excess weight
•Inactivity or overuse
•Injury
•Genetics.
What Can Be Done?
Fortunately, there are safe and
natural options available that are
supported by sound science. To
control discomfort, minimize joint
damage, and improve or maintain
function and quality of life, there
are several steps you can take.
These include:
•Physical therapy
•Splints or joint assistive aids
•Weight loss
•Medication
•Supplements.
One supplement has been
found to work at the cellular level
to help support joint comfort and
cartilage protection. A university
study on a combination of ingredi-

was shown in a six-week study to
reduce specific biomarkers associated with joint discomfort and cartilage breakdown.

SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE - 10 AM We also invite you to listen to our weekly recorded

WEDNESDAYS - Youth Group - 6 PM
Adult Life Group-Maturing in Christ - 7 PM
By Pastor Mark Jeske
Fear of rejection is what keeps low-performing salespeople from becoming top producers for their company. Fear of
rejection keeps a man from daring to ask a woman for a date. Fear of failure keeps a promising athlete from competing for
a place on the team. Fear of mockery keeps a younger employee from applying for a higher-ranking job.
Fear of failure also keeps people mum about their faith in Christ. They don’t want to risk criticism or risk bungling the
message. It seems safer to keep still. Jesus has great compassion for our fears, for he felt them all, but he refuses to do
our talking for us. He wants the gospel to touch every person on earth, but he waits for us to speak up.
And he doesn’t leave us with a blank playbook and an empty toolbox. His Word brings us the thrilling content the world
needs to hear. His Spirit gives the gifts we need to get the message out there, and he gives also the courage to stand up
to those who think the gospel is foolishness: “Make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend
yourselves. For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or
contradict” (Luke 21:14,15).
Don’t be afraid. Just open your mouth, tell the story in your own words, and let Jesus keep his promise to supply the extra
words and wisdom.
