The trade fair: well-established
and future-focused
SICHERHEIT 2013 – a proven focus on
the future
SECURITE LAUSANNE 2014 –
fulfilling high expectations
SICHERHEIT 2015 – steady growth as
we celebrate our 20th anniversary
The 19th SICHERHEIT trade fair in 2013
featured a wide range of products and
services from the entire safety and
security industry. A total of 10,152
industry experts came to Zurich to
obtain information from the 224
exhibitors at the trade fair, which covered an area of around 7,500 square
metres. The specialist conference which
is traditionally run in parallel with the
trade fair also attracted a great deal of
interest: some 1,100 participants took
part in the half-day modules – of which
there were 19 overall – led by more than
100 speakers from all kinds of different
specialist areas.
The entire safety and security industry in
French-speaking western Switzerland
flocked to the three-day SECURITE LAUSANNE 2014 trade fair. Held for the third
time, this event attracted a record number of visitors – 2,030 industry experts –
thus underlining its status as a prestigious and highly regarded knowledge
platform. 75 exhibitors, associations and
publishers presented their portfolios over
around 1,500 square metres of exhibition
space.
In 1976, a modest number of exhibitors
took the brave, forward-looking and
shrewd decision to introduce themselves to a highly interested audience at
the very first Swiss Trade Fair for Safety
and Security in Zurich. 19 trade fairs
and almost 40 years later, the SICHERHEIT trade fair has evolved into the most
important meeting place for the safety
and security industry in Switzerland, attracting well over 200 exhibitors and upwards of 10,000 visitors. The attributes
which make this event, and therefore its
exhibitors, stand out to this day have remained unchanged right from the start:
after all, it is only thanks to brave exhibits, forward-looking products and
shrewd planning that SICHERHEIT has
become what it is today.
The new special exhibition in Hall 6 on
the topic of “Managing the risks posed
by natural hazards” provided a platform
for exchange between natural hazard
experts and safety and security specialists. During an open forum, well-known
speakers shed light on key issues concerning natural hazards, while suitable
solutions relating to the topics discussed were demonstrated in the adjacent exhibition area. Around 400 participants signed up to attend the various
talks on the forum programme and
many more people came along on
impulse to listen too.
Following the resounding success of the
previous SECURITE LAUSANNE trade fair
in 2012, expectations were extremely
high. Fortunately, improvements in quality
and a further 8% increase in visitor numbers meant that this high standard could
easily be met.
The rising number of visitors and exhibitors clearly demonstrates the growing
importance of this trade fair for western
Switzerland.
The FORUM SECURITE also proved very
popular with the industry as the highquality free talks on offer attracted safety
and security specialists in their droves.
The organisation of the forum into halfday modules gave participants an ideal
opportunity to visit both the forum and the
trade fair on the same day. A total of
around 900 participants attended the forum events during the three days.
It is with pride and great anticipation
that we cordially invite you to the 20th
Swiss Trade Fair for Safety and Security
in Zurich. We are confident that we can
expect a slight increase in exhibition
space in 2015 along with a rise in the
number of visitors, reflecting the steady
growth of the safety and security industry as a whole. We are also convinced
that the industry and therefore all our
exhibitors will once again live up to their
image as a driving force behind the
Swiss economy and allow the expert visitors at the trade fair from 10 to 13 November 2015 to gain a comprehensive
impression of the range of products and
services on offer. On that note, we would
like to offer you a warm welcome to the
20th SICHERHEIT trade fair.

Specialist conference
Over the years, the SICHERHEIT trade
fair and the high-quality specialist conference run in parallel have proved to
be a successful combination. This duo
of events will be held again in the usual
tried-and-tested format in 2015. After
all, the facts speak for themselves:
with the four-day conference attracting
an average of more than 1,000 participants, it is clear that there is high
demand for more information in addition to what the trade fair has to offer.
The high-calibre panel made up of
around 100 speakers covers a good mix
of basic topics as well as providing
hints and tips on how to put useful
safety and security measures into
practice. The conference is divided into
half-day modules, allowing participants
to visit the trade fair and attend the
conference on the same day.
New risks
It is a well-known fact that nothing is as
constant as change – and in particular,
change which tests the limits of safety
and security. Businesses are continuously faced with new dangers, risks and
threats from both inside and outside.
These new risks must be identified,
evaluated, controlled, incorporated into
concepts and translated into concrete
preventive measures. The people who
are responsible for operational safety
and security are an essential part of
this. To ensure that they have the right
tools to hand and can build on their
experience, continuous exchange and
knowledge transfer amongst like-minded people is absolutely vital. With this in
mind, the specialist conference plays a
valuable role in raising awareness and
provides the perfect platform for safety
and security specialists to acquire
knowledge, share experiences and
liaise with one another.

A strong practical focus
The conference covers a comprehensive range of safety and security topics.
The main emphasis is on current
issues relating to safety, security and
fire prevention, which are examined
from technical, political, regularity and
organisational perspectives wherever
possible. The speakers are all experienced and acknowledged experts in
their respective fields and focus
strongly on practical aspects.
Target audience
The specialist conference serves as a
valuable information platform for operators and users of safety and security
services and technology. It is primarily
aimed at experienced senior managers,
safety, security and fire prevention
managers, safety and security officers,
fire prevention officers, occupational
safety experts, installers of security
systems, suppliers of safety and security products, planners, engineers, consultants and service providers.
Recognised further training
The SICHERHEIT specialist conference
is recognised by various important
organisations as a further training
event. The number of training units
available and further details can be
found in the conference invitation.

Special exhibition
Managing the risks posed by natural hazards
The open forum of the
special exhibition brings
together knowledge,
practical experience and
current issues, stimulating fascinating discussions on hot topics.
Natural hazards – a constant threat
Natural disasters regularly make the
headlines. Even Switzerland’s Ticino
region, known for its sunny climate,
has to deal with floods, landslides and
rockfalls. Almost the entire country has
been on flood alert and natural hazards
and their impact have long been an
integral part of our everyday lives.
“DID YOU KNOW THAT NATURAL
HAZARDS ARE THE SECOND MOST
COMMON THREAT TO BUSINESSES?”
Research is constantly advancing, new
products are being launched on the
market and methods of calculating
risks are being enhanced. When it
comes to installing new infrastructure,
weighing up the risks involved is already standard practice during the planning phase. Great progress has been
made in dealing with natural hazards
and this is the main focus of the latest
special exhibition.
A special exhibition with an open forum
The special exhibition offers an opportunity for dialogue between safety and
security officers from industry, service
providers and experts in natural
hazards. They will provide information
about the latest developments and product solutions as well as tools and
basic methods for assessing and reducing risks. They will also present new
guidelines and requirements, shed
light on how hazard maps can be used
effectively and pass on their extensive
knowledge about natural hazards to
visitors. A wide range of topics will be
highlighted and discussed in the open
forum. The speakers will focus particularly on practical elements, bringing
the dialogue to life during the topicspecific half-day sessions.
Main topics
• Building security
• Protecting critical infrastructure
• Risk monitoring
• Protection against hail and storms
• The challenges of climate change
• Advance warning and intervention
The chance to interact with natural
hazard experts will enable you to evaluate the issues that affect you and
help you gain an overview. Put forward
your own questions and pick up useful
information from the exhibition or the
open forum to build up the expertise
you need.
