Rokko Island offers a wide variety of hospitality facilities such as banquet halls, meeting rooms and

Boasting full-fledged facilities for international conference as a
selling point, the Kobe Bay Sheraton Hotel & Towers provides 7
banquet rooms for groups of any size along with 276 guest
rooms that can accommodate up to 687 people. The Sheraton
Annex, adjacent to the hotel, offers flexible spaces that adapt
perfectly to your requirements for conferences, seminars, and
other functions; it is readily available for use on weekends and
public holidays, as well as weekdays. Limousine buses run from
Kansai International Airport, Shin-Kobe and Sannomiya to the
hotel, providing easy access to popular sightseeing spots.
Surrounded by the ocean on three sides, the Hotel Plaza
Kobe offers spectacular views not only from its guest
rooms but also from the restaurants and banquet rooms.
Guests can enjoy the many different faces of the ocean
throughout the day from sunrise to sunset.
The Kobe Fashion Mart features approximately 1600tsubo
of integrated event space on the 9th floor, and a spacious
event area of around 600tsubo with a 40m-high vaulted
ceiling on the 1st floor. This facility is able to
accommodate a broad range of events, ranging from
intimate gatherings to up to 5000-person capacity
conferences.
This is the first public museum devoted to fashion in Japan.
Special exhibitions held quarterly are elaborately designed to
fascinate all types of visitors, not only fashion experts. The Kobe
Fashion Museum also houses a 424-seat event hall (ORBIS Hall)
on the 5th floor. The ORBIS Hall is fully equipped with a 250-inch
screen, projector system, and other equipment for presentations,
making it an ideal venue for a range of events, including
international symposiums. There are also seminar rooms
available on the 4th floor for smaller gatherings of less than 100
people, along with adjacent gallery space suitable for holding
small-scale exhibitions.

This new-design commercial
complex proposes a “colorful

east of “Island Center” station

Kobe Artists Museum
This is Japan’s first museum
devoted to fashion. It has a
collection of costumes, photographs
and visual images in the Fashion
Wing, while the Art Wing on the
same floor runs diverse exhibitions
related to fashion. There is a
resource center on the 3rd and 4th
floor where you can explore books
and archives of fashion.
Situated on the first floor of the
Kobe Fashion Museum, it displays
collections of local artists and of late
artists who had some connection to
Kobe. This is a museum where you
can experience both the old and new
of Kobe arts.

Kobe City Koiso Memorial Museum
MOVIX Rokko (Cinema)
This museum serenely sits in the leafy
park of Rokko Island. Ryohei Koiso is
widely respected as a significant, modern
Japanese painter. Born in Kobe, he
considered his birthplace as the basis of
his paintings. Many of the masterpieces,
2500 paintings in all, are housed in this
museum. There are three exhibition
rooms along with Koiso’s recreated
atelier in the courtyard, where the bright
sunlight shines in through the windows.
The big cinema screen and digitallyenhanced sound draw you into every
part of the movie. You can fully relax
in the wide, comfortable seats. And
while between shows, how about a
coffee or refreshments from the
snack bar? There is also a stand
where you can buy character goods
as well.

Rokko Island Tennis Square offers a
great place for tennis lovers. This
facility is equipped with 7 tennis
courts, a practice wall, restaurants,
shower rooms, a social lounge and a

summer for you to enjoy and make

Rokuai Stadium
“g” skates park
Rokuai Stadium is the artificialgrass football (soccer) field certified
by the Japan Football Association.
The stadium has been built to
support community-based sports
activities. Rokuai Club, the founder
of the stadium, hopes that people
who love football will get together
here and enjoy the sport throughout
their life.
The indoor/outdoor skate park
allows you to slide in any weather. A
special surface coating (in-line
hockey type) will prevent you from
getting hurt. So, even children can
use this sports venue without much

Hakuturu Sake Brewery Museum
The brewery’s wooden facility, built in the
Taisyo period (1912-1926), displays tools
used in making sake and describes the
traditional-sake making method. You can
taste fresh sake for free!
Himeji Castle
Arima Hotsprings
Himeji castle was registered as the world
cultural heritage along with Horyuji
Temple in Kyoto by UNESCO in December,
1993. It has a history of 400 years.
Arima is the oldest hot spring resort in
Japan, boasting a history of 1300 years.
You can find many historic shrines and
temples in the village.

Kobe Port Tower
The tower provides a 360-degree
panoramic view from an observatory deck
overlooking Mt. Rokko, the port and the
city. The often-called “ten-million-dollar
night view” is absolutely stellar.

Kyoto
This temple is the head temple of
Sumadera branch of the Singon school of
Buddhism, and was built in 886. The
statues of Taira-no-Atsumori (Heike clan
warrior) and Kumagai Jiro Naozane (Genji
clan warrior) are in the Genpei garden in
the temple grounds. Kubizuka of Atsumori
and other historical monuments can be
found to pique your interests.
*Kubizuka: a mound beneath which the
head of a beheaded warrior rests.
Kyoto was the capital of Japan for over
one thousand years since the Emperor
Kammu established it as the capital called
“Heian-kyo”, from 794 until 1868, the
period of Meiji Restoration. Kyoto is the
storehouse of Japan’s traditional culture:
Kyoto Gosho (Kyoto Imperial Palace Park),
Nijo-jo, Kiyomizu-temple, and other
historical sites, shrines and temples.
Traditional Japanese crafts in Kyoto such
as Nishijin textiles, Yuzen dyeing, Kiyomizu
pottery are also well known. Many annual
festivals are held in the city.
