2. Product description
The Schleuniger UniStrip 2015 and the UniStrip 2545 are pneumatic table-top
machines for efficiently and precisely stripping wire ends. All parameters such as
strip length, partial strip length and conductor diameter can be easily selected by
means of graduated dials. The machines can process conductor cross sections
over a range from 0.03mm2 to 2.08mm2 (AWG 32-14). The Strip lengths can be
varied:
- UniStrip 2015 from 1.5 to 20mm (approx. 0.06“ to 0.787“)
- UniStrip 2545 from 25 to 45mm (approx. 1.0“ to 1.8“)

3. Responsibilities
The operator of the machine is responsible for ensuring that every person working
with the Schleuniger UniStrip 2015 or the UniStrip 2545 has been fully trained on the
basis of these operating instructions (Set-up, Operation, Maintenance). The training
of the operating personnel must include the following points:
•
The purpose of the machine (see the paragraph "2. Product description").
•
Hazard areas (see the paragraph "5. Hazard areas").
•
Safety regulations (see the paragraph "6. Safety regulations").
•
The operation of the machine according to these operating instructions.
4. Personnel qualifications
In order to ensure that all instructions will be understood, the training must be carried
out in the language of the operating personnel. The following personnel
qualifications are therefore required:

German in addition to the language of the operating

5. Hazard areas
Please take special care with regard to the following hazard areas:

The area around the air-operated gripper jaws. (The area is
protected from inadvertent contact by a safety cover).
•
The area around the stripping blades. (The area is protected from
inadvertent contact by a safety cover).
•
The entire interior of the wire stripping machine
- Danger from moving mechanical parts

6. Safety regulations
• This machine has been designed in accordance with the European
Standard EN294 for persons above the age of 14 years. It is strictly
forbidden to allow access to the machine to persons younger than
this age.
• Never operate the machine in environments where there is a risk of
fire or explosion.
• The machine must only be operated in rooms that are dry and free
from dust.
• Never operate the machine without its protective covers.
• Never work on the machine without wearing eye protection.
• Disconnect the machine from the electrical and/or compressed air
supply before carrying out any maintenance work.
• Never operate the machine with the mains earth disconnected.
• Do not make any modifications to the machine and only utilise it for
its intended purpose according to Paragraph "2. Product
Description". Other applications are only permitted with the written
approval of the manufacturer. The manufacturer will accept no
liability for damage resulting from the disregard of this regulation.
• Never operate the machine without first having read through and
understood all instructions.
• Repair work may only be carried out by authorised persons who
have been specially trained for this work.
• Ensure that long hair is not worn loose, and do not wear loose
clothing or ornaments that could become caught in the moving
parts of the machine.
• Only use the lubricant that was delivered with this machine
according to these operating instructions.

2. Produktbeschreibung
Die UniStrip 2015 und die UniStrip 2545 sind pneumatisch betriebene
Tischmaschinen. Sie können die Enden von Kabel rationell und mit hoher
Präzision abisolieren. Sämtliche Parameter wie Abisolierlänge, Abziehlänge und
Leiterquerschnitt, lassen sich mittels skalierten Einstellrädern auf einfachste Weise
einstellen. Der Bereich der verarbeitbaren Leiterquerschnitten liegt zwischen
0.03 mm² und 2.08 mm² (AWG 32-14). Die Abisolierlänge kann variert werden:
- UniStrip 2015 zwischen 1.5 und 20 mm
- UniStrip 2545 zwischen 25 und 45 mm

3. Verantwortlichkeiten
Der Betreiber der Maschine trägt die Verantwortung, dass jede Person, die mit der
Schleuniger UniStrip 2015 oder der UniStrip 2545 arbeitet, anhand der vorliegenden
Betriebsanleitung genau instruiert worden ist (setup, Bedienung, Instandhaltung).
Die Ausbildung des Bedienpersonals muss folgende Punkte enthalten:
•
Verwendungszweck der Maschine (siehe Abschnitt "2. Produktebeschreibung").
•
Gefährdungsbereiche (siehe Abschnitt "5. Gefährdungsbereiche").
•
Sicherheitsbestimmungen (siehe Abschnitt "6. Sicherheitsbestimmungen").
•
Bedienung der Maschine entsprechend der vorliegenden Betriebsanleitung.
4. Personalqualifikationen
Damit alle Instruktionen verstanden werden, muss die Schulung in der Sprache des
Bedienpersonals erfolgen. Somit sind folgende Personalqualifikationen erforderlich:
Montage, Inbetriebnahme, Instruktion
Bedienung
Unterhalt, Service
Technische Fachkräfte, welche englisch und/oder deutsch
sowie die Sprache des Bedienpersonals beherrschen.

5. Gefährdungsbereiche
Bitte beachten Sie die folgenden Gefährdungsbereiche mit besonderer Vorsicht:

6. Sicherheitsvorschriften
• Die Maschine wurde gemäss der Europäischen Norm EN294 für
Personen über 14 Jahre ausgelegt. Es ist strikte verboten, jüngeren
Personen Zutritt zu der Maschine zu gewähren.
• Betreiben Sie die Maschine nie in explosions- oder feuergefährdeter
Umgebung.
• Die Maschine darf nur in trockenen, staubfreien Räumen betrieben
werden.
• Betreiben Sie die Maschine nie ohne Schutzabdeckung.
• Arbeiten Sie nie ohne Augenschutz an der Maschine.
• Trennen Sie die Maschine vom elektrischen Stromanschluss und/oder
von der Druckluft, bevor Sie irgendwelche Unterhaltsarbeiten
vornehmen.
• Betreiben Sie die Maschine nie ohne angeschlossene Schutzerde.
• Ändern Sie die Maschine nicht ab und setzen Sie sie nur für den
vorgesehenen Verwendungszweck ein, gemäss Abschnitt "2.
Produktebeschreibung". Andere Verwendungszwecke sind nur mit
schriftlicher Zustimmung des Herstellers zulässig. Für Schäden, die aus
dem Missachten dieser Vorschrift entstehen, lehnt der Hersteller jede

2. Description du produit
Les UniStrip 2015 et UniStrip 2545 sont des machines de table à actionnement
pneumatique. Elles sont capables de dénuder les extrémités de câble
rationnellement et avec une grande précision. Tous les paramètres tels que
longueur de dénudage, longueur de retrait de la gaine et section de conducteur
peuvent se régler de la manière la plus simple au moyen de molettes graduées.
La plage des sections de conducteur qui peut être préparée se situe entre
0.03 mm² et 2.08 mm² (AWG 32-14). La longueur de dénudage peut être variée:
- UniStrip 2015 entre 1.5 et 20 mm
- UniStrip 2545 entre 25 et 45 mm

3. Responsabilités

6. Consignes de sécurité
• La machine a été conçue pour des personnes âgées de plus de 14 ans
conformément à la norme européenne EN294. Il est strictement interdit
d'accorder l'accès à la machine à des personnes plus jeunes.
• Ne pas utiliser la machine dans un environnement déflagrant ou
inflammable.
• La machine ne doit être mise en service que dans des locaux secs
exempt de poussière.
• Ne jamais faire fonctionner la machine sans capot protecteur.
• Ne jamais travailler sur la machine sans lunettes de protection.
• Avant de procéder à des tâches quelconques de maintenance,
débrancher la machine de l'alimentation électrique et/ou de celle d'air
comprimé.
• Ne jamais se servir de la machine sans branchement de mise à la terre.
• Ne pas modifier la machine et ne l'employer que pour l'usage auquel
elle a été destinée, conformément au paragraphe "2. Description du
produit". L'emploi à d'autres usages n'est admis que moyennant
autorisation écrite du constructeur. Celui-ci décline toute responsabilité
pour des dommages consécutifs à l'inobservation de cette prescription.

2. Descrizione del prodotto
La UniStrip 2015 e la UniStrip 2545 sono macchine da tavolo azionate
pneumaticamente. Esse permettono di spelare i terminali dei cavi in modo
razionale e con una precisione elevata. Tutti i parametri come lunghezza di
spelatura, lunghezza di sfilamento e sezione dei conduttori, possono essere
impostati con facilità mediante ruote di registrazione graduate. Il campo di sezioni
lavorabili per i conduttori oscilla tra 0.03 mm² e 2.08 mm² (AWG 32-14). La
lunghezza di spelatura può essere variata:

3. Responsabilità
L’operatore della macchina è responsabile del corretto addestramento di tutti gli
addetti all’acceleratore Schleuniger UniStrip 2015 o UniStrip 2545, seguendo il
presente manuale di istruzioni (setup, funzionamento, manutenzione).
L’addestramento del personale addetto dovrà seguire i seguenti punti:

Funzionamento della macchina in accordo con il presente manuale delle
istruzioni.
4. Competenza del personale
Per una corretta comprensione delle istruzioni, l’addestramento dovrà essere fornito
nel linguaggio degli operatori. Per questo motivo gli addetti dovranno possedere le
seguenti competenze:
Montaggio, avviamento, istruzioni Tecnici che conoscano l’inglese e/o il tedesco,
e la lingua del personale.

5. Aree pericolose

6. Norme di sicurezza
• La macchina è stata progettata secondo la Norma Europea EN294 per
persone con più di 14 anni d’età. È severamente vietato fare accedere
alla macchina persone di età inferiore.
• Non mettere mai in funzione la macchina in un ambiente a rischio di
esplosione o d’incendio.
• La macchina deve essere messa in funzione unicamente in locali
asciutti e privi di polvere.
• Non mettere mai in funzione la macchina quando la stessa è sprovvista
dell’apposito carter di protezione.
• Non lavorare alla macchina senza avere prima indossato l’apposita
protezione per gli occhi.
• Prima di effettuare qualsiasi lavoro di manutenzione, separare la
macchina dall’alimentazione della corrente elettrica e/o dall’aria
compressa.
• Non mettere mai in funzione la macchina quando non è collegata alla
terra.
• Non modificare la macchina e utilizzare la stessa unicamente per gli
scopi descritti nel paragrafo "2. Descrizione del prodotto". Scopi diversi
da quelli qui riportati sono ammessi solo con l’approvazione scritta del
costruttore. Il costruttore declina qualsiasi responsabilità per i danni
derivanti dalla mancata osservanza di questa clausola.
• Non mettere in funzione la macchina prima di avere letto e compreso
tutte le istruzioni.
• Gli interventi di riparazione devono essere eseguiti unicamente da

2. Descripción del producto
Los modelos UniStrip 2015 y UniStrip 2545 son máquinas de sobremesa
accionadas reumáticamente. Pueden quitar el aislamiento de los extremos de los
cables de forma racional y con elevada precisión. Todos los parámetros, tales
como longitud sin aislamiento, longitud de extracción y sección del conductor, se
pueden ajustar de la manera más simple con ruedas de ajuste graduadas. La
gama de las secciones de los conductores que se pueden trabajar está
comprendida entre 0,03 mm² y 2,08 mm² (AWG 32-14). La longitud sin
aislamiento puede ser:
- UniStrip 2015 entre 1.5 y 20 mm
- UniStrip 2545 entre 25 y 45 mm

3. Responsabilidades
El usuario de la máquina es responsable de que todas las personas que trabajan
con la Schleuniger UniStrip 2015 o UniStrip 2545 hayan sido debidamente instruidas
según estas instrucciones (instalación, manejo, mantenimiento). La formación del
personal operativo debe incluir:

4. Capacitación del personal
Para que todas las instrucciones sean comprendidas en la forma debida, la

6. Disposiciones de seguridad
• La máquina ha sido concebida en conformidad con la Norma europea
EN294 para personas mayores de 14 años. Se prohíbe
terminantemente permitir el acceso a la máquina a personas de menor
edad.
• No use nunca la máquina en entornos donde exista peligro de incendio
o explosión.
• La máquina debe funcionar sólo en locales secos y exentos de polvo.
• No use nunca la máquina sin la correspondiente cubierta de protección.
• No trabaje nunca en la máquina sin la protección de ojos.
• Desconecte la máquina del sumunistro eléctrico y/o de aire comprimido
antes de efectuar en ella cualquier trabajo de mantenimiento.
• La máquina no debe usarse nunca sin la puesta a tierra conectada.
• No introduzca modificaciones en la máquina y úsela sólo para la
finalidad prevista según el punto "2. Descripción del producto". Otros
usos sólo están permitidos si se cuenta para ello con la autorización por

2. Productbeschrijving
De UniStrip 2015 en de UniStrip 2545 zijn pneumatisch aangedreven
tafelmachines. Ze kunnen de uiteinden van kabels rationeel en met hoge precisie
isoleren. Alle parameters, zoals isolatielengte, striplengte en geleiderdiameter,
kunnen met instelwieltjes met maatverdeling zeer eenvoudig worden ingesteld.
Het bereik van de verwerkbare geleiderdiameters loopt van 0,03 mm² tot
2,08 mm² (AWG 32-14). De isolatielengte kan gevarieerd worden:
- UniStrip 2015: van 1.5 tot 20 mm
- UniStrip 2545: van 25 tot 45 mm

3. Verantwoordelijkheden
De exploitant van de machine is er verantwoordelijk voor dat elke persoon die met de
Schleuniger UniStrip 2015 of UniStrip 2545 werkt aan de hand van deze handleiding
nauwkeurig geïnstrueerd is (setup, bediening, onderhoud). De opleiding van het
bedienende personeel moet volgende punten omvatten:

4. Kwalificatie van het personeel
Om ervoor te zorgen dat alle instructies begrepen worden, moet de scholing in de
taal van het bedienende personeel gegeven worden. Het personeel moet aan de

6. Veiligheidsvoorschriften
• De machine is conform de Europese norm EN294 geconstrueerd voor
personen boven 14 jaar. Het is streng verboden jongeren personen
toegang tot de machine te verlenen.
• Gebruik de machine nooit in een omgeving waar gevaar van explosie of
brand bestaat.
• De machine mag alleen in droge, stofvrije ruimtes worden gebruikt.
• Gebruik de machine nooit zonder veiligheidsafdekking.
• Werk nooit zonder veiligheidsbril aan de machine.
• Verbreek de verbinding van de machine met het stroomnet en/of de
druklucht voordat u onderhoudswerkzaamheden uitvoert.
• Gebruik de machine nooit zonder dat de aarde aangesloten is.
• Breng geen veranderingen aan de machine aan en gebruik de machine

OPERATING ELEMENTS
Air jet
(UniStrip 2015 only)
The air jet blows the insulation clippings from the blades
during a full strip. It is only fully effective with a pull-off
length of 20 mm.
Trigger
On contact the trigger initiates a stripping process.
Centering aid
The centering aid is a vertically adjustable plate on which
the wire is supported during the stripping procedure. With
the centering aid the wire is roughly centred in preparation
for the stripping process.
Conductor diameter
drive drum
With this drive drum you set the diameter of the conductor.
That is to say, the stripping blades cut into the insulator
down to the set diameter and pull the cut-off piece away
from the conductor. The division is 0.01 mm per gradation
and 0.1 mm from digit to digit.
Main switch
With the main switch you switch the UniStrip 2015/2545
on and off.
Pull-off length
control knob
With this control knob you define the pull-off length. The
cut-off piece is pulled off the conductor by the amount set
here. You can find the scale for the pull-off length on the
side of the UniStrip 2015/2545. The division is 2.0 mm per
gradation.
Stripping length

With this drive drum you define the stripping length. The
division is 0.5 mm per gradation.

the grippers. The grippers holds the wire tight during the

SETUP AND OPERATION
• Fasten the UniStrip 2015/2545 to your workbench with the screw clamp. The
setting of the stripping parameters is more convenient when the front edge of the
UniStrip 2015/2545 is flush with the edge of the bench.
• Remove the protective packing from the compressed air connection.
• Switch the main switch to OFF.
• Connect the UniStrip 2015/2545 to the compressed air supply.
Use only dry and clean compressed air. The pore size of
the filter in the supply system should not be greater
than 5 μm. The input pressure to the UniStrip 2015/2545
must not exceed 6 bar, however it should not be less
than 5 bar.

A Practical Example
The best way to learn about the UniStrip 2015/2545 is from a practical example.
Described step by step below is the procedure for stripping the insulation from a wire

using the UniStrip 2015/2545, In our example we are using a 0.75mm wire
approximately 20 cm long.
With the UniStrip 2015/2545 we are carrying out a partial strip.
With the UniStrip 2015 we are carrying out a full strip.
See the following figures for the stripping dimensions.

of the pull-off length is limited and should be a max. of 8 mm, otherwise

• Switch off the main switch, if this is not already at OFF.
• Set the centering aid. For this, feed the wire into the processing orifice horizontally
from above (Figure 4) and move the centering aid until the end of the wire
indicates a point somewhere under the trigger center (Trigger, Figure 1, page 30).
• Measure the conductor cross-section using a vernier calliper. Set a slightly larger
value at the conductor diameter graduated drum. This ensures that the blades do
not damage the conductor.

• Set the pull-off length at the pull-off length graduated drum (Figure 1, page 30) to
10 mm (UniStrip 2015) and to 32 mm (UniStrip 2545)

The graduated drum for the pull-off length can be turned below the figure
1 (or 25 with the UniStrip 2545) into the negative range. But then you
cannot turn the graduated drum back. In this case continue turning in the
negative range direction (counterclockwise), until the desired pull-off
length is reset.
• Turn the rotary knob for the pull-off length (Figure 1, page 30) to 5 mm
(UniStrip 2015) and 7 mm (UniStrip 2545).
• Switch the main switch on.
• Feed the cable into the processing orifice at the UniStrip 2015/2545 from above
and lightly touch the trigger with the cable end. A partial strip is carried out. It is
possible that the insulation is slightly damaged by the clamping jaws or that the
cable is not correctly held. In this case, check the clamping pressure at the
clamping force tensioning screw (see also Operating elements, page 30).

For setting the stripping and pull-off lengths, we recommend that you
note the following:
• If the pull-off length is shorter than the stripping length, a partial strip
takes place.
• If the pull-off length is longer than the stripping length, a full strip takes
place.
• Full strips are not possible with the UniStrip 2545.
• Only with UniStrip 2015:
− For a full strip the pull-off lengths must be at least 2 mm longer
than the stripping length. In this way for instance, also soft
insulations are cleanly stripped off.
− If there are waste remnants on the blades. Set the pull-off length
to 20 mm. Then the blow-off jet comes into full effect and blows
the waste from the blades.

MAINTENANCE
Separate the UniStrip 2015/2545 from the compressed air supply.
Maintenance is limited to the cleaning of the machining zone. This is best done with
compressed air. You can, however, also use a vacuum cleaner and fine brush.
• Empty the slug container. The slug container cannot simply be pulled out
horizontally, it is secured by the centering aid plate. Therefore first press the
container downwards and then pull it out from the UniStrip 2015/2545.
• Remove the safety cover and blow any remains of insulation out of the machining
zone with compressed air.

• Clean the grooved inner part of the grippers using a small brush. If you remove the
centering aid, this makes cleaning easier.
• Replace the safety cover and the slug container.

The cleaning interval depends on how intensively you use the UniStrip
2015/2545.
• The best way to clean the casing is with a soft cloth and an everyday all-purpose
cleaner.
Do not use penetrative solvents on the casing.

• Shift the compressed air cylinder to the front. The bearing A in Fig. 13 must touch
the front wall of the casing.
• Hold the conductor of the wire between the blades. Shift the blades together until
the cutting edges lightly touch the conductor.
• Tighten up the screws of the blade holders. Tighten the screws alternately in
small increments.
• Remove the thickness gauge and push the compressed air cylinder back.

• Shift the compressed air cylinder and the connection rod completely forwards
(Fig. 13, page 43). The grippers and the blade holders are now completely closed.
• Loosen the screw A on the support for the sensor carrier (Fig. 18).

figure for sensor carrier and trigger).

• UniStrip 2015:
Push the sensor carrier carefully forwards again until the trigger just touches the
closed blades.
• UniStrip 2545:
The distance between trigger and blade position must be 25 mm.
• Tighten up the screw A. Replace the casing cover and the safety cover.
• Empty and replace the slug container.

The Control Brake
A stripping procedure is essentially made up of 4 steps in the following order:
1. The blades centre the wire.
2. The grippers clamp the wire and hold it tight.
3. The blades cut into the insulation down to the set diameter.
4. The insulation is pulled off.
All these movements are driven from a single compressed air cylinder. Without the
control brake the movements would be triggered at the same time. In order that the
order centre, clamp, cut and pull-off is adhered to, the control brake delays the two
movements cut and pull-off.
For braking the two brake plates clamp onto a sliding block. A spring presses the two
brake plates onto the sliding block. The braking power can be set by tightening the
spring to a greater or lesser degree. It influences the course of the machine's
functions and ensures a correct stripping procedure.
Adjusting the Control Brake
Adjustment of the control brake is, for example, necessary if the wire slips in the
grippers during the pulling-off of the insulation and you have already screwed the
straining screw for the clamping power all the way in (Fig. 1, page 31). In this case
you increase the braking power of the control brake.
Over time the brake pads wear. The rubbing surfaces become finer and thereby pick
up more of the surface. The result can be a higher braking power and a slower
stripping process. In this case you should reduce the braking power.
In case the braking power is not
set properly, there is a basic
setting . The nut for the braking
power (Fig. 20) is then
withdrawn to approximately
2 mm from the end of the screw.

Switch the main switch off. The following tasks may only be carried out
by suitably trained people. (Schleuniger personnel, trained personnel at
the user's factory).
Incorrect setting of the braking force can result in damage to the
UniStrip 2015/2545. Take special care not to set the control brake to
strongly.
• Remove the casing cover.
• Rotate the nut for the braking power about half a turn in the desired direction:

• Switch the main switch on and make a test wire. If the result of the stripping is not
yet satisfactory, redo the setting.
• Replace the casing cover.
