eight combinations, for a broader coverage of today’s process control panel
applications.
Modular Fuse Holders: A global solution in a 10 x 38mm package. The CH and
CH--E will accommodate fuse links manufactured to European and USA standards,
ensuring circuit protection up to 32 amps.

CAMASTER HRC Fuse Holders
Bussmann
®
A patented range of fully shrouded HRC Fuse Holders designed
to accommodate offset bolted tag HRC fuse links to BS88: Parts
1 & 2; IEC 269-1 & 2.
The compact dimensioned 32A Fuse Holder, type CM32FC
accepts the A1 size fuse link NITD 2 to 32 Amps. The standard 32A
fuse holder, type CM32F accepts the A2 size fuse link AAO - 2 to
32Amp. The 63A unit, type CM63F, accepts the A3 size fuse link
BAO - 40 to 63 Amp and the 100A unit, type CM100F, accepts
fuse link type OSD - 80 to 100 Amps, which has compact A3
fixing centres.
The Fuse Holders are supplied as front connecting as standard
but can be readily converted to front/back stud or double back
stud connection types at the point of installation, using the
appropriate size back stud accessories.
CAMASTER Fuse Holders are offered with the
following features
• Advanced patented design incorporating a high level of innovation,
with enhanced performance characteristics.
• CAMASTER Fuse Holders fully comply with the requirements of
BS88 section 2.2 (IEC269-2-1, section 2) and the 16th edition of the
IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
• The fuse carriers are fitted with a ‘cam’ action for ease of removal
from the fuse base. The design ensures high contact pressure
between the fuse carrier contacts and the base contacts, with a
corresponding enhanced electrical performance level.
• CAMASTER Fuse Holders have a unique channel and guide
arrangement which prevents any tilting of the fuse carrier when it
is being inserted or removed, eliminating any likelihood of inadvertent contact with live metal.
• Fixing screws to the fuse carrier are held in captive hinges,
providing ease of fixing and preventing loss during installation.
The hinges also act as pressure plates thereby reducing the
contact resistance between the fuse link tags and the carrier
contact.
• Cable terminations fully meet the requirements of Sub-clause 7.1.7 terminals of IEC947: Part 1 Low Voltage Switchgear and
Controlgear.
• CAMASTER Fuse Holders, as standard, provide both bolted panel and DIN rail mounting features. When DIN rail
mounted all ratings of fuse holder give equal height and depth above and below the DIN rail.
• Non removable full shrouding of live parts within the fuse base provided by the use on hinged shields which cannot
be omitted during installation and are designed so that insertion of the fuse carrier can only be made with them
correctly positioned.
• Neon clip-in indicator accessories are available, the neon being lit when the fuse link has operated. (Minimum system
operation 90V).
• The fuse carrier has a marking label for ease of circuit identification.
• Ganging can be readily achieved by the use of standard accessories, providing improved safety related to isolation
and protection of 2 and 3 pole electrical circuits.

SAFELOC HRC Fuse Holders
®
The patented SAFELOC fuse holders provide a simple, safe
range, designed to accommodate the compact rage of offset
blade tag fuse links to BS88 part 6. The combination offers
significant savings in volume and cost as well as a reduction
in fitting time and power loss. They provide a safe and easy
method of protecting a wide range of electrical equipment
such as lighting, heating, motor and control equipment
circuits.
The NNS fuse holder accommodates the NSD range of
compact HRC fuse links whilst the slightly larger ENS fuse
holder accommodates the ESD range of compact HRC fuse
links. Both holders are available in front connection or back
stud arrangements or combinations of these.
SAFELOC Fuse Holders are offered with the following features
• Compact fuse link and fuse holder dimensions.
• Fuse holders employ a unique slide/snap carrier action for positive and secure insertion
and removal of the fuse link. This provides positive, stress free fitting of fuse links
and locks the fuse link in position ensuring safe insertion and withdrawal from the base.
•
The direct contact between fuse link blades and the plated base contacts provides
lower watts loss and increased reliability.
•
The compact range of fuse links (i.e. NSD & ESD) fitted into the SAFE LOC fuse holders,
have an excellent ability to protect induction motor circuits.
•
Complete internal personnel protection against direct contact electric shock is obtained
by fully insulated and shrouded fuse holder base contacts.
•
Fuse base consists of glass filled, high impact resistant, thermoplastic polyester and
incorporates a 35mm DIN rail mounting facility as well as a single screw fixing.

Notes on Motor Circuits
All of the compact range of fuse links have an excellent ability to protect induction motor circuits. The
ESD
unique design of the SAFELOC fuse holders has enabled
63M80 the design of dual rated fuse links which offer protec63M100 tion for motor circuits up to 40 hp. Fuse links in this
extended range have ratings, as defined in BS88 plus
a higher rating, which relates to their ability to withstand motor starting surges. For example, an ESD63M
100 has a continuous current carrying capability of
63A, coupled with the time current characteristic, and
thus the withstand capabilities, of a 100A fuse link.
ENS
The application of these fuse links in motor circuits
can achieve significant economies in the size and cost
of installations. The associated dual rated fuse links
are shown left.

HRC Distribution Fuse Banks
®
Two ranges of Fuse Banks are available, utilising the CAMASTER
and SAFELOC HRC Fuse Holders. The fuse banks consist of single
phase assemblies of busbar connected fuse holders mounted on
a back strap, for incorporation in distribution fuse boards to
facilitate compliance with BS5486: Part 1; (EN60439-1) and
BS5486: Part 2.
Compatible ranges of neutral bars and earth terminal busbars are
also available, together with enclosure door circuit identification
labels.
The fuse banks are thermally rated and designed for mounting
either horizontally or vertically. This flexibility is complemented by
a fully insulated incoming cable termination shroud which may be
rotationally positioned to accept cable entry from any direction.
Complete personnel protection against direct contact electric
shock is provided by fully shrouded busbars and shielded fuse
holder base contacts.
CAMASTER Fuse Bank
Insulation of the busbar assembly and cable termination is by
means of a PVC plastisol material, which has been shown, by
thermal cycling tests, to be satisfactory for use at ambient
temperatures from minus 20 degrees to plus 50 degrees
centigrade.

Modular Fuse Holders CH Series
®
The CH range of Modular Fuse Holders is available in three
sizes: 10 x 38, 14 x 51 and 22 x 58 millimetres. Designed to
accommodate Cylindrical type fuse links with ferrule end caps
up to a maximum rating of 125 Amps. The CH101 series, to
IEC269-2-1, accepts 0.5 to 32 Amp C10G and C10M style of
10 x 38mm European fuse links. The CHM accepts the North
American ‘midget’ style of fuse link and the CHCC accepts the
North American Low Peak class CC fuse links. Both the CHM
and CHCC are UL recognised, guide IZLT2, file E14853 and
certified CSA Standard C22.2 No. 39.

The Safety J is a Class J Touch Safe Fuse Holder for use with
Bussmann Class J fuse links such as the LPJ and JKS. It is made from
thermoplastic with UL flammability 94VO and is available in 30 amp
and 60 amp versions at 600V, with or without indication.

HRC Fuse Bases for NH Style Fuse Links
®
Fuse bases to accommodate NH fuse links in
sizes 00 to 3 single pole and 00 to 2 triple pole.
Specifications: VDE 0636 and DIN43 620/3
HRC Fuse Bases are designed in accordance to DIN 43 620/1 and are
available in sizes 00, 0, 1, 2 and 3. Both the single and triple pole
versions are rated at 660V ac. Due to the excessive pull forces required
to extract the fuse link from associated equipment, it is normal practice for size 4a/4 fuse links to be fitted into a switch fuse disconnect.
NH Fuse Bases are designed from heat resistant lightweight moulded
materials, with connection to the fuse link by means of silver plated
contacts. Bolted cable terminals are available, with the option of a ‘V’
clamp terminal connection on size 00, which accepts incoming cable
sizes up to 70mm2 (add suffix ‘V’ to the part number i.e. SB00V).
Partition barriers can be mounted between poles on the bases (except
size 00 with ‘V’ clamp terminals). These are sold as separate items,
catalogue reference PB followed by the fuse size.

to be met. To ensure additional safety, cover capes can be mounted
on the contact springs. These cover capes are available for single
pole and triple pole bases size 00 with bolt connections only. Cover
capes are to special order only.

Vertical Fuse Bases for NH Style Fuse Links
®
A one-piece vertical arrangement of fuse base, moulded from a
glass fibre strengthened self extinguishing synthetic material, incorporating a central corrosion resistant bar and stainless steel contact
springs for secure fuse link positioning. Designed for 185mm busbar
fixing (100mm for the size 00). Horizontal phase separation plates
are included, vertical separation covers are available and can be
fitted as required. (See table below).

Optima OPM-1038 Series
The OPM-1038 series offers a high specification of protection against
short circuit damage in eight feature combinations, for a broader
coverage of today’s process control panel applications. The unit is
available as a three pole fuse module or, switch fuse disconnect;
employing the unique cam action fuse carrier withdrawal and offering
combinations accepting 10 x 38mm fuse links to European IEC 269
standard or alternatively North American 10 x 38mm LP-CC and
