map focuses on tourist spots, cafés, restaurants,

z Higashiyama Jisho-ji Temple (Ginkaku-ji Temple)

Founded in 770, this ancient temple is located on sacred
Mount Kurama which is said to give energy and spiritual
protection to all people. One of the most famous traditional ritual associated with this temple is the Kurama Fire
Festival held on October 22nd every year at Yuki Shrine.

This temple covers a large area that is exquisitely landscaped with classic Japanese gardens. It is a famous
place to enjoy autumn colored leaves and snow in winter.
東山慈照寺(銀閣寺)
The world famous Silver Pavilion belongs to the Shokokuji branch of Zen Rinzai Buddhist sect. Its official name
is Higashiyama Jisho-ji Temple but it is widely known as

In Kyoto, the city-run public bus and subway services will cover most travel needs. The
city can be enjoyed to its utmost using these two key transportation systems efficiently.
Bus: the fare is 220 yen within a designated central area in the city. The fare increases
as the bus travels further outside the designated area. Subway: two subway lines in the
city: Karasuma Line (north to south) and Tozai Line (east to west). Minimum fare to
board the subway is 210 yen and the fare increases according to the distance travelled.
