OPEN HOUSE!
Saturday, June 11th from 11am-3pm, we will be hosting an Open
House to introduce our wonderful club to the community. There will
be added incentive to join, fun games around the golf shop and an
opportunity for prospective members to play in the BBQ Chapman at
4:30 that day. Flyers will be available to hand out to your friends and
family! If you have any questions, contact your Membership Director,
Naomi Moss.
Have a question for the bookkeeper? You can call or
leave a message for Mary Lou Bostick at


NEW SIGNS!!! PLEASE observe the cart rules! We have
bright, new signs clearly marking where to drive.

FAIRWAYS & GREENS will be fertilized again this month, this is an especially important time to be adding sand and seed to your divots and repair
your ballmarks!

Jason and his crew will be fixing
many of the cart paths over the
next couple of months. Where
you see these barriers (pictured)
and a sign that says ‘SCATTER’,
please drive/walk around these
areas to give the grass a chance
to grow back in.
WHAT’S HAPPENING ON THE GOLF SIDE?

COBRA - PUMA DEMO DAY & TRUNK SHOW!!
Thursday,
June 2nd from 10:00am—2:00pm!!! Come out to try out the newest Cobra clubs and
try on the newest Puma golf fashion! This event is for both Men and Women!

FLAG DAY FUN TOURNAMENT! Tuesday, June 14th (Flag Day). This is a
fun, play at your own time, tournament. When you check in, throw $5 in the pot and grab a flag with
your name and handicap on it. Start play on #1, all golfers begin the round with a set number of
strokes (related to their handicaps), and they play until their strokes run out. The player who makes it
farthest on his or her allotment of strokes is the winner. For example: If your handicap is 10, you are
allotted 81 strokes (par + your handicap). Wherever you make your 81st stroke, you plant your flag.
If after completing 18 holes, you still have not reached your allotted strokes, continue to play until
you do. No need to sign up, just show up and play!

NEW MERCHANDISE!
The new SKECHERS golf shoes are here and the most
comfortable shoe you will ever wear on or off the golf course! They start at only $60!!

2016 LEUPOLD Range Finders are here! Pin Caddie 2, GX-1 and GX-3!
These are the top of the line in measuring distance! Father’s Day is just around
the corner!!

PLEASE CHECK IN THE GOLF SHOP BEFORE TEEING OFF! Part of the
golf shops job is to manage the first tee and to communicate to the players anything that may be happening on the course that could affect you; fertilizing,
spraying chemicals, maintenance projects or anything else.

PACE OF PLAY On days we have tee times (Wednesday’s, weekends and holidays) the
pace of play for 9 holes is 2 hours in order to accommodate the next round of tee times.
ABSOLUTELY NO FIVE-SOMES ON THESE DAYS DURING THE POSTING SEASON!!!

VOLUNTEER PRIVATE CARTS We have a few club sponsored tournaments that
require more power carts than we have. If any private cart owners are willing to volunteer the use of their carts during these events, the $24 cart fee will be added to your
pro shop account as compensation. We make sure your cart is used responsibly and
left clean! Please let the golf shop know if you are interested in the “Generous private
cart” program.
WHAT’S HAPPENING ON THE GOLF SIDE?

SUMMER JUNIOR GOLF CAMP will begin Tuesday, June 28th. This is open for
members’ children and grandchildren. If there is room after that, we will open those spots
for the general public. It will run every Tuesday for 8 weeks, 7am-11am (depending on
your child’s group), cost is $25/child. The season will end with The Dalles CC Junior
Invitational on Tuesday, August 23rd. Registration/Liability forms are available in the golf
shop, can be emailed to you and will be available on Tuesday, June 28th at the 10:00am
orientation.

PGA JUNIOR LEAGUE GOLF began in April. This is a fun but competitive
travelling team of experienced junior golfers ages 8-15 who represent
The Dalles Country Club and are 100% funded by local businesses (Thank
you Oil Can Henry’s, Motel 6, Hire Electric, Oregon Equipment,
Two Dogs Plumbing, Griffith Motors, Waste Connection and CH Urness).
We have 25 kids who make up 3 teams and have already travelled to China
Creek and Pine Meadows golf courses to compete. Their first home match
against Indian Creek is Monday, June 27th at 4:30pm. Between our teams,
there will be over 40 junior golfers here for a big rival match and I encourage
you to come out to support the kids and see what this incredible program is
all about!!
