WE’RE MORE THAN A PLACE. WE’RE A CAUSE.
At the Y, we strengthen communites by strengthening minds. Our afterschool, summer day camp and teen
programs give hundreds of kids in our community a chance to keep learning after school lets out. From A to Z,
we offer programs that provide kids with the building blocks for life. Join the cause.
GIVE TO THE Y.
The Y. So Much More™
YMCA OF DOUGLAS COUNTY
www.ymcaofdouglascounty.org
Your generosity at work:
• $2,000 - Helps to start a new afterschool outreach program in an underserved community.
• $1,000 - Provides sponsorship for one year of safe, caring and education after school care.
• $ 500 - Provides two teens with an opportunity to participate in a year of healthy living activities that
encourage a positive future.
• $ 250 - Supports ten youth in swim lessons that will teach essential water safety skills
• $ 100 - Provides a child with the opportunity to attend two weeks of day camp.
The YMCA Changes Lives
Through YMCA Swim Lessons, children and families learn water safety
and swimming techniques while having fun. This program teaches the
skills that not only keep kids safe in, on & around water, but also
builds confidence and develops self esteem.

The Y. So Much More™
Every knows us as four letters: Y-M-C-A.
But from A to Z, the Y brings communities so
much more.
• There’s exercise, but there’s also education through
early childhood enrichment programs.
• There’s cardio, but there’s also community
volunteerism to improve our neighborhoods.
• We give swim lessons, but we also give sponsorships
and financial assistance to those who need it most.
When you give to the YMCA, 100% of your donation stays in
your community. Every dollar of your donation is used to
support a child, family or individual to learn, grow and develop
in our People Helping People program.
The Y is so much more than a place. It’s a cause. Our cause is
to strengthening communities. And so much more.

DAY CAMP
Five Reasons
Why Kids Should
Attend Summer Day Camp
1. ADVENTURE: Summer Day Camp provides a wide variety
of fun adventures and new experiences.
2. HEALTHY FUN: Summer Day Camp offers fun, stimulating
activities that engage the body and mind. Children learn the
importance of nutrition to help improve their eating habits.
YMCA DAY CAMP

SUMMER IN YOUR
CHILD’S DAY
3. PERSONAL GROWTH: While being away from the routine back
home, youth have a chance to learn new skills, and develop
confidence and independence by taking on new responsibilities and challenges.
4. NEW FRIENDSHIPS: Amidst the fun of Summer Day Camp games,
songs, swimming, and field trips, campers make new friends.
5. MEMORIES: Summer Day Camp is an unforgettable experience that
will give each camper memories (and campfire stories) that will last
a lifetime. Youth return to school with plenty of camp stories to share!
