Campaign for Tomorrow, purchase a brick and help pave
the way for a brighter future. Tax-deductible bricks make
a great gift for promotion, graduation or permanent
memorial. See the form attached or pick one up at the
Upper School Front Office.
Admission Open House, May 27th at 9am: The easiest
way to share all the great things our school has to offer
is to invite your friends, neighbors, teammates, or anyone else who is curious about Palm Valley School to our
Tuesday Morning Admission Open House. Let them
know they can stop in any Tuesday from 9-11 am for a
tour of the campus and to have all of their questions answered. No RSVP required. Contact Lisa Olson with questions, [email protected] or 760-328-0861.
Volume 2013/2014
Issue 33

Mrs. Van Vliet’s Kindergarteners are busy building
their own city
News from Middle School: On June 10th, after the
MS/US Awards assembly, the Middle School students
will be going to the Wet 'n' Wild Water Park for our
end-of-the-year activity. We are still looking for parents to help with carpooling students to the water
park at 10 am that morning. If you can help with this,
please contact Mrs. Ferguson at school.
Congratulations to our 6th grade class for qualifying
for a pizza party as a reward for their participation in
our Palm Valley golf tournament. The party will be at
lunchtime on June 5th at the tables near the
snack bar. All 6th grade students will not need to bring
a lunch that day as pizza, drinks, and dessert will be
provided free of charge. Thank you, 6th grade class
and parents.
Graduation Information Notices are attached to this
edition of The Phoenix. Please access and read over
the instructions as all students and families are
encouraged to attend our Graduation Exercises
on June 11th at 6:00 pm at the Westin Mission Hills
Resort. Please pay special attention to the dress code
for each grade level for this important community
ceremony.
As the end of the year approaches, students are
encouraged to begin cleaning their lockers and taking
home materials not needed for classes. Early efforts
here make the last day clean-up much less hectic for
students and for staff.
June Exams begin on Monday, June 2nd. Please see
the Exam Schedule attached to The Phoenix this week
and for the next 2 weeks. Students will be given review
outlines in their classes and review will begin in earnest after the Memorial Day weekend.
A whole hearted thank you to the Palm Valley parents
who, by their selfless gifts of time, money, and energy,
made the Middle School play a record-breaking
success this year. The talented team of parents, teachers, administrators, and students have given a delightful gift to the School community that has created
unity, enlivened spirits, elevated public opinion,
and bequeathed a positive memory that will be
enjoyed for years to come.
"RHYTHM is the new sensation, snappy happy
syncopation,
Spreading quite a celebration everywhere.
Human beings all declaring they’re for caring and
for sharing
Fireworks and rockets flaring in the air"
News from Upper School: Congratulations to junior
